Del Taco

this location is closed for service. apparently they are shutting down all del tacos in dfw.

One of my family’s favorite fast food restaurant! The best double cheeseburgers we’ve ever had. And their fries taste like the old fashioned crinkle cut fries. Frisco location always had great customer service and fresh hot meals everyone we’ve ordered.
I’ve been saddened by the news Del Taco is closing their restaurants in Texas. They’re in 16 states so why remove those delicious burgers from us so conveniently located minutes from my house.
I’m going to miss the short lines in the drive through and especially those amazing burgers, which is only the one type.
Planning on eating there as much as possible before your doors close one last time on the 14^th!

Got there 30 min before the Taco Tuesday was starting. We were vying for 8 people and we were refused the discount because of 30 minutes. Disappointing service from that aspect.
The food is good and convenient to pick up.

I used to go to Taco Bell for their chicken and grilled steak soft tacos but thanks to two solid items at Del Taco, I might be switching my allegiance.
First up is the Tacos Al Carbon. I opted for one steak and one chicken. Of course, it comes with the requisite cilantro and onions. However, I wasn’t in the mood for onions, so I ordered mine without them.
The other item is the Asada Tacos. Again, ordered one steak and one chicken. These come with guacamole and pico de gallo. Got one with pico and one without.
Service was pretty quick and I was off and gone from their drive-​thru window. Once I got home, I dove right in. Started with the Asada Tacos, which come with a lime wedge. A righteous squeeze and you’re good to go.
Started with the steak and it was stellar. Good amount of meat, pico de gallo and guacamole. Also love the fact that these come in two corn tortillas so they don’t fall apart. Had a similar rave review of the chicken one as well. Love the lime wedge, nice touch.
As for the Tacos Al Carbon, have nothing but good things to say about them as well. Steak was the first one I bit into and loved the mix of the meat, cilantro and California Chile Sauce.
It was a similar story with the chicken one. Nice melding of flavors and the chile sauce brought it all together quite well.
I know Del Taco isn’t the caliber of Torchy’s (which I also dig) or other higher-​end taco places like Taco Diner, but for being what it is, it isn’t bad, a nice stand-​in until Torchy’s comes to Frisco in the near future.

Open 24 Friday through Sunday, lies just lies. I would rather have cake. Went up there at 3:00 in the morning to find the place closed.

This is, of course, a fast-​food taco/​burrito place. Bearing that in mind, I rank it 5 stars. The food is very good and it is actually quite inexpensive. Since eating here first last week, we have been 3 times now. The beer-​battered fish tacos are comparable to sit-​down restaurant fish tacos — and I was surprised to find that out. The bean burritos are nice and the crunchy tacos are good as well. We plan to eat here every week on Taco Tuesday!

Went here for a quick bite after spending all morning visiting my wife at the hospital… I got 4 turkey tacos and they were prepared by someone who doesn’t care, absolutely no quality control at all, translucent vegetables prepared as a pile of slop on a tortilla… Very Disappointed, lost me as a customer..

This is a great place to go to when you are on a budget and a hurry. Crunchy beef tacos or soft chicken tacos… you cant go wrong for a dollar. The food tastes fresh.
I have no complaints, fast fun friendly and then I go back to work. I would rather go here than Taco Bell.

Food is OK. Facility is clean! Price is absolutely RIGHT! If you need a taco fix, on the quick, the vegetables are fresh, and the meat is not too scary, unlike the Bell guys.

I loved the food, because it tasted just like it does in California! The bathroom (s) were super clean along with the location. The only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is because the staff looked very glum. They didn’t look happy at all, but still made great food. They were still friendly though. 4 Stars!

I love me some Del Taco! Especially those chicken tacos! I find this location to be clean, friendly and the sauce & salsa stations always full. I think it’s interesting that the value meals include fries, but you can also sub for nachos, chips/​salsa and maybe something else. can’t recall. The fries are pretty good though, so don’t pass them up even if you think it’s strange to have fries with your tacos :)
I have only tried the chicken tacos and the chicken burrito but both are yummy! I much prefer the tacos over the burrito, but only because I just don’t love the rice in the burrito. The ingredients all seem fresh and are packed with the perfect amount of ingredients. The only fail for this place is the guacamole — looks and tastes artificial. Don’t waste the 40 cents it will cost you to add it. If you want fast tacos, you can’t go wrong by heading here!

Average… Not missing out. Taco bueno is better as far as beef and chicken tacos go.

I really don’t see what the hype is about.
Got the nacho and couldn’t seem to figure out what that cheese and sour cream was.
The stringy cheese looks like what comes out of that can and you put on club crackers.
I just didn’t get the wow factor here and needless to say this would be my last go to in a hurry and nothing else on Preston Rd was open spot.

Can’t believe all the not-​so-​sparkling reviews! Call me cray, but I love Del Taco! I would say it’s better than taco bell and taco cabana. I pretty much love the fact that I can get french fries with tacos. I’ve never tried anything else on the menu but if you’re going to do fast food, you can’t go wrong by heading here!

Don’t bull doze over the Churro!
Better than Taco Bell, Taco Bueno… and I don’t know Taco Cabana… Del Taco is on your coat tail.
Macho taco all the way. The lettuce is so crisp and fresh they have me wandering if it’s some of Dexter’s Laboratory Iceberg experiment going on behind those double windows. The taco sauce is delish too — I can suck a packet to sleep.

Next up I’m trying the quesadillas, the deluxe chili cheddar fries, another macho taco, and of course… the Chuurrrooooos.

So I’m in Frisco for work training and being from California I was craving something from back home, and I found Del Taco. Location was good, food was good and as good as I remember it. The staff was professional and very friendly. I liked my visit, and would recommend it to someone looking for better then Taco Smell!

Grew up on Del Taco in CA, glad they put one up so close to me.
I always go with the chicken soft tacos. Can’t beat them. Depending on the mood I’ll get some chili cheese fries as well. Definitely takes me back to childhood.

Del Taco is the newest fast food Mexican place in the area. They offer a mix of traditional Tex-​Mex (burritos, tacos, etc.) and non-​traditional (burgers and fries). They are different from Bell and Bueno in that fries come with the value meals.
I’ve tried both breakfast and lunch offerings (lunch is available at breakfast — a plus). The food is okay — on par with Taco Bell. The fries (crinkle cut) were good, not great. The service was good though, and its location is very convenient. I still love Taco Cabana and Rosa’s better for their fresh tortillas and fresh salsa bars, but I would eat here if I’m craving something like Taco Bueno or Taco Bell.

We were eagerly anticipitaing the opening of Del Taco as we LOVE our tacos and always open to new places. I stuck to the basics and ordered a burritto and taco, oh and the fries because they are «World Famous». Meh. Not so much. The medium salsa was more like ketchup. The hot was decent. The taco was decent but nothing special, the burrito was nice and big but nothing special about it. I’d stick to Bueno or Cabana or Rosas of you want decent tex mex fast food.
