Delicious hibachi restaurant and friendly staff. Had to wait a while before sitting down even though there were multiple tables open. Had to wait again after soup and salad because they sat another couple at our table. Food was great though, worth the wait.

Made reservations for my daughter’s 21st bday was 3 minutes late, was told it was going to be a 30 minute wait because we were 3 minutes late. However they were not ready for us. Also was told they had plates for the cake which they did not. Manager was extremely RUDE! Went up the street to Houlihan’s and they took us right in even though they were busy made us feel comfortable and food was EXCELLENT!

We ordered sushi from the bar, overall the rolls were great, but the salmon and white tuna nigiri was disappointing. It is a bit pricey. The service was great!

Lot of food for the money. The chicken was very dry but the sides were very good except for the soup and salad which we could have skipped. The service was wonderful.

The service was friendly and prompt but their lunch portion seemed small for the price. Also their house soup is just broth with a few scallions. If you’re ordering to go they don’t have to go spoons, which is a problem if you get the«broth soup» to go. Overall this place is meh, the food is ok… but I don’t think it’s good vs the price. I could have gotten so much more at basically any other restaurant in this shopping center.

The food is fantastic and has a wonderful atmosphere. The portions even for lunch are a good size! When I walked in we were greeted expeditiously and seated promptly. The food wasn’t too salty and did I say the portions were very generous? I was very happy!

I have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years love the sushi normally love the Habatchi grill but recently went the charged us 2.85 for having fried rice rather then plain, the drinks 3 $ and food went up in price so the meal for my kids was almost 20 $ a piece. The cook used to much of the oil, and didn’t light it, so we ended up going home with sick stomachs for 104 $ for two adults and a 3 and 4 year old. I may still get sushi here but it will be along time before this Habatchi lover goes back with her family. The trip to Olive Garden would of been more worth it!

I’ve been patronizing this restaurant for a few years now and it used to be the standard bearer for sushi in the area. The last few times I’ve eaten here, it seems like the quality and value have gone down. The chefs have gotten in the habit of drowning the rolls in spicy mayo and other sauces, the pieces of sashimi are about 2⁄3 of the size they were a year ago and the prices keep rising. I hope they get their act together because I do like the establishment. In terms of bang for your buck though, go across town to yamafuji or hit up Okinawa or Chinatown in Winchester.

It took at least an hour before we got our sushi. And the sushi wasn’t even that good. Well, for Front Royal, it can be considered as beyond excellent. But for someone that’s had it elsewhere, it was sloppy and lacked consistency. The sauces were slathered on and overpowered the roll’s original flavour. Also, the rolls were poorly packed, leaving room for a big mess. If you’re looking for some sushi without expectations, then come here. But if you’re looking for authenticity and quality, skip it. You should just make a day trip to DC or Baltimore and get it there. It’s worth the drive/money.

Do not order any kind of fish that is to be cooked at the hibachi. They will overcook it until that horrid fishy rancid smell emanates from it.

I have been patronizing this place for about 3 years now and I must say that although the hibachi end is amazing the sushi is lacking, my favorite is salmon and this is the only place that I have eaten salmon and it is fatty and chewy my fear is that the quality of sushi grade fish is being put at the bottom of the priority list, in which that can make one very nervous! Sadly this restaurant as with many after the newness wears off they decline in quality ! If you don’t eat sushi the rest is great!

I live in Winchester, and will travel to Front Royal to go to Mikado if I want Japanese. This place is by far much better quality for the price than Sansui or Ichiban.

Visiting friends and we had dinner at a regular stop of theirs. It is in a strip mall, parking is a bit tight. The location itself is nicely done. Being also a Hibachi location, it was busy with a wait but sushi was open and not seated heavily. On to what we ordered… Liked the Hollywood roll, fresh, well assembled and the proper temperature. The Spicy Cowboy Roll and the Marilyn Monroe Roll are nontraditional rolls, one is fried, both have cream cheese. The sushi chef sent over a chef roll, and it was fried, tasty and had crab in it. Our order came out quickly, and our server was friendly, efficient, quick and kept our glasses full. Prices were average, and I would like to try the hibachi the next time– my friends state it is tasty.

We love this place! They have a great sushi selection. The cooks are friendly and I’ve never been disappointed in my meal. Over all this place is our to choice for dinner out!

You could tell that this was a restaurant for whom sushi was an afterthought– during dinner, I only saw one other party not sitting at one of the hibachi tables. Despite having surprisingly good fish for somewhere so unexpected, Mikado ruined seemingly half their sushi options by slathering them with an absurd amount of chipotle mayo. It just seemed so desperate to appeal to a wide audience that they forgot that simplicity is the hallmark of Japanese cuisine, and what makes it worth having.

This is a very fun place to eat. You get to watch someone cook your food right in front of you. The table seating is a fun atmosphere it makes you interact with strangers because all the food is cooked together. I’m very upset about the portion sizes for the price it seems your paying for the talent of the cook instead of the food portions. The kids menu was kind of small not much to choose from especiallyn if you have a picky child. Very pricey meals!

This place is.fair. I’ve eaten here twice now and enjoyed my most recent visit with the Hibachi-style presentation better than the first visit. Cook was very friendly and comical, too. Food was decent. I ordered a combination of steak and salmon. Spring rolls for an appetizer were quite forgetful. Haven’t had the sushi yet as I’m a fan of Yamafuji so don’t want to be disappointed. Prices are a little high.

PRO: Excellent Japanese staff, good selection, fresh fish, nice setting. Complete surprise for the location/area. CON: sushi chefs unconversational(not unfriendly, answered questions … Nothing more). HINTS: Yamafuji gets better ratings. SURPRISE: Really … Two decent sushi restaurants this far from NYC, DC(sorry Baltimore … Front Royal has your Hell’s Kitchen beat).
