Really awesome white pizza here. Best I’ve ever tasted. Also had the shrimp and pasta with spicy red sauce. Second time at Osteria and both times a great meal. The owner waited on us which is a rare touch. Highly recommended.

This is a slow place. I think the person who owns the restaurant is the waiter too. After about 15 minutes, he wasn’t happy that we asked for our appetizer, which was a very weak pasta fagioli(think the bagged soups that you rehydrate with water) and a portabella mushroom soaked in olive oil and sprinkling of feta. I ordered chicken with tomato which was very bland. Husband had the tortellini which was okay, but not spectacular.

Went for Dinner tonight with Friends and the Food and Service was fantastic! Fresh Mussels with Parmesan and Spinach appetizer and for Entrée and Butternut Squash Ravioli that was heavenly creamy. Espresso and Cannoli for Dessert made for three happy customers. Very please and excited we have such a high quality restaurant in our little town :)

Food was mediocre at best, friendly service, no kids menu. Nothing was bad but definitely not worth the price.

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. I grew up eating Italian food in little Italy in NY and this restaurant is as good if not better than most there. Four of us ordered different things and each was better than the next. Pastas, sauces and desserts all made on site. Prices very reasonable.

One word: superb! First things first, if you’re the type to devour unlimited breadsticks & suffer through what Olive Garden calls«Italian» then this might not be the spot for you. But it might be if you want to improve your palate. This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants that I’ve had the pleasure of eating at. Coming from the NYC area, it’s not often you find good Italian food in the DC/MD/VA area. The restaurant is cozy and the owner is absolutely amazing. I sat at the bar after a long day at work, and he went over the specials, but I had my eye on the lamb and boar sausage, so that’s what I ordered. After a glass of wine my sausage came out and it was amazing. and perfectly made. But nothing compares to the lamb. The meat literally fell off the bone and was seasoned to perfection. Then the tiramisu… homemade…and delicious! I seriously can’t wait to try everything on their menu!

Took my wife for dinner on Monday night Oct. 19. Ordered lentil soup and squash soups and a portobello mushroom appetizer. No squash soup came. The mushroom looked good and was tasty, but the bread, which we dipped in the olive oil could have been more abundant and freshly warm. We ate the bread as we were starved, but waiting for our entrees, no more bread was offered. Betty ordered a pizza that had 3 kinds of cheese and spinach. Price was about $ 12 or $ 13. Next my beef brisket in ravioli with creamy pesto sauce, a dish recommended as the chef’s signature favorite. $ 15. I was a bit shocked to find the contents was a thick meat sauce. Never have I experienced beef brisket that couldn’t be chewed. We left after paying $ 45.10, leaving a $ 4.90 tip and leaving still hungry.

This wonderful restaurant is «Eetalian» and not«Eye-talian». Authentic and carefully prepared food served with care. We started with wild boar sausage in balsamic glaze and a Caesar salad. Large portions ad delicate tastes. We moved on to linguini with shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce and angus ravioli in pesto cream. Dolce was house-made chocolate gelato and espresso. Perfect. No Olive Garden unlimited bread sticks here. No goopy lasagna. Thank goodness. This is true Italian cuisine. You will love it.

On September 24, 2015, I had dinner at Osteria 510 in Front Royal, Virginia. The food and service were excellent! I ordered a salad, penne pasta with Italian sausage, a pizza and a Chianti wine. The food is cooked to order but comes out quickly. Everything was delicious. The restaurant itself makes you feel as if you were in a small kitchen in Firenze, Italia! I would highly recommend Osteria 510! Bravissimo!

As much as I like Front Royal(not a native) it can feel like a bit of a food desert, so it was very refreshing to discover Osteria 510. I’ve never had a bad experience here; the food is great, the service is excellent, and the owner is obviously passionate about his business. So far I’ve had the boar sausage, linguini with shrimp, the lamb shank, and a few salads; all were excellent and I can’t wait to work my way through the entire menu. 5 stars all around!

My wife and I stopped here new years eve after visiting some friends(and following their recommendation). It’s a small place but very warm and friendly. New Year’s Eve was a fixed menu and it was, without a doubt, fantastic. The appetizer, entrée and desert were all top notch«taste experiences». I would recommend this place to anyone. The owner was there and very involved and certainly added to the charm of this small place. This is a must try! I highly recommend it. My only advice is so petty it is hardly worth mentioning… replace the butter packets with some actual quality unsalted butter! The bread certainly deserved that. That said, if this is the only issue… what a success!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The owner always remembers us. The meals are wonderful with true authentic Italian flavors. We enjoy eating Tapas style of having several appetizers as well as ordering one of the main meals. The muscles special is quite amazing when they have it. Our 6 year old son enjoys the restaurant and the staff always gets his hand made pizza cooking right away. The service is excellent and friendly. I can’t forget the desserts. The cannoli is AMAZING!!! The fresh gelato and ice cream are quite nice. We have continued to come here and never have been disappointed. They make amazing food and take great care of the customers.

A very authentic and ORGANIC Italian restaurant. When I went with my family on a weekend, I was happily greeted and attended by the owner who interestingly enough speaks 5 languages! This restaurant is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place, but it’s very adorable to visit. Something I noticed, however, was that it’s quite(despite the TV in the minibar), which can be a good or not so good thing depending on what you’re looking for. Aside from that, I enjoyed it. Pro: Fast service, organic food from the local farms, friendly staff Con: Quite, slightly pricey for the small portions you get, so if you’re hungry it won’t fill you, simple food(if you’re used to spices and flavorful foods)

A solid Italian restaurant in little Front Royal. Since dining options were somewhat limited for a Sunday evening, myself and my date decided to come here since we were both craving Italian. We both had somewhat low expectations but were pleasantly surprised with Osteria 510. Our waiter was very polite, helpful, and overall proved excellent service. Once seated, we decided to order some appetizers and two pizzas for our entrees. I order a Peroni along with the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad as well as the margherita pizza. My date ordered the white pizza as her entrée, the meatballs as her appetizer, and a glass of chardonnay. The salad was quite good. Although we both agreed the mozzarella could have had more flavor(had to add some salt and pepper) but otherwise was good. The meatballs were not bad either. Having been to Pupatella in Arlington as well as 2 Amy’s and Il Canale in Washington DC, I was not expecting the pizza here to be on par. Although it wasn’t as good as what I’ve had previously, the pizza was still authentic and delicious. I felt that the margherita pizza could have used more mozzarella, but the crust was perfect. My date’s white pizza would have been the better choice as she stated she liked it. Overall, since my date lived in France with an Italian family and myself being to a few Neapolitan pizza restaurants in DC, we had slightly lower expectations. However, Osteria 510 pleasantly surprised us. I’m looking forward to returning and trying out their other entrees and housemade pastas.

We love this place, shhh keep it a secret. The food is very Italian, like straight off the boat Italian. If you are looking for a TGI Fridays kind of meal, this is not the place to go. Quality over Quantity. My husband and I are foodies and I can say, we have never felt we overpaid and have never had a bad meal here.

Nice little restaurant nestled in Front Royal, almost a hidden gem. The pastas were fresh, particularly the Ravioli was impressive. For once Tiramasu tasted like itself; not too cloying but just the right amount of sweetness. Our server was very cordial and attentive enough to introduce our party to vegetarian options at the onset. Maybe visited our table at least half dozen times to inquire about your ongoing dining experience. Cozy décor befitting a family Italian joint. The only hitch to me was serving bread with prepackaged butter; probably the only reason for me not to give it a 5 star.

I cannot review service or ambiance, as we placed our order to go. My husband said everyone was nice which is great. Too bad the food was horrible. My husband had an appetizer of smoked salmon and marscapone on crostini. It came with wilted, undressed greens. The salmon was obviously packaged. The crostini not terribly crisp, and the marscapone was actually ricotta cheese. It’s not hard to tell the difference. I’m insulted they even served it ths way. My husband also had the brick oven pizza with spicy pepperoni. He said it tasted like a bland Hormel pepperoni and had no flavor of brick oven pizza. He said later that he did not see or smell a wood oven when he picked up the food. Not worth it. I had the Gorgonzola and spinach risotto. They should fire not only the person who cooked it, but the person who ordered the ingredients. The rice was NOT arborio rice. It was some mushy, bland, grainy rice. I make risotto ALL of the time(I learned while in Italy) and hell, if this is what people are buying, i should open an «authentic» Italian restaurant. I’ve never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever had worse risotto. Ever. Never ever. In my whole life. Am I clear? It was the worse risotto that I have ever had. We also ordered a penne for my toddler. He ate a few penne. He stuck a few penne between his toes. That’s life as a two year old. He would rather have a banana. Let me say… it was nice of them to modify a menu item to accommodate a child, but please… homemade pasta? Do not believe any reviewer on Unilocal who states this. I was totally redy to be impressed because the last time I had fresh pasta on Front Royal… it was at my house. Penne for you thoughts? No thank you. Keep your boxed penne. We also ordered three cannoli. They were not bad. I almost would give another star since they did not suck. However, I just can’t. They were not star-redeeming…just not sucky. For whatever it’s worth, around the millennium I worked at I Ricchi in downtown DC. I’ve traveled all over Italy on wine tours. Nothing about this place is authentic Italian. Consider yourself warned. I wanted to like it, I promise. This location is the kiss of death in Fro Ro. I’ve seen maybe 4 businesses close there. As a foodie, I want to see awesome restaurants come to town. Sadly… this is not one.

A pleasant, new, and authentic Italian restaurant in an area totally devoid of them. As they’ve been open now a matter of days, there is, understandably, some various kinks to work out in service, execution(and the need for a liquor license). That being said, everyone here was very accomodating and some of the food items were very good. Began with the fried calimari with a semi-spicy marinara based dipping sauce. Good, not great. Then had one of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had. Key was the dressing. Maybe the best I’ve had period and I’ve tried more than I can count. Everything else about it was standard but the dressing just pulled all of the other ingredients to new heights. Had the braised lamb dish for an entrée over a bed of veg and orzo. Earthy flavor was appealing but the meat itself was rather fatty and it rendered out into the sauce providing flavor, but an impending frown from my cardiologist. Tiramisu and espresso for dessert was extremely good. All in all, a nice new addition to this area of Virginia and I look forward to returning upon my next business trip into the area(and when I can enjoy a glass or 2 of wine)
