We ordered a large to go order last night and when we picked it up, everything was mixed up. We got sides we didn’t ask for and probably 8 containers of coleslaw for some reason. The portions were small, the meat was bone dry, and the turkey looked like lunch meat. I guess I should have gone to city market instead. Loved the fried okra, but that was about it.

A good, basic bbq dinner. The cold slaw was excellent, as were the full rack of baby back ribs. The bbq baked beans were much too sweet though. Texas toast very good. Reasonably priced at $ 15.99. Located close to the western entrance to Colorado Monument park.

We ordered a whole lot of Rib City for my son’s graduation party. I really like the tangy BBQ sauce. It was a hit with over 50 people enjoying this. We had several people say they should have ordered Rib City for their grad parties. We had 10BBQ chickens and my favorite was the BBQ pork.

The service was excellent, food good, but not fantastic. Gets the job done, if you want something other than pizza or Mexican food in this little town, with few other options.

Living in Fruita… we eat here A LOT!!! Baby back ribs are a fave in our house. And they have the best in town. My hubs loves the pulled pork and mustard BBQ sauce. The ranch dressing is to die for! Love it! We will be back soon!

Had a very nice lunch there. I cannot remember the name but we both had a sandwich which was a combination of pulled pork and beef.

I was in Fruita for my nephew’s wedding. It was to be outdoors and catered by Rib City. Before the wedding, the winds kicked up with gusts up to 50 mph. The owners of Rib City actually closed down their restaurant for the night and let them have their reception there. Did I mention that this was a SATURDAY night, and that they always have a wait on the weekends? The generosity amazes me in this day of age, where the almighty dollar usually wins out over compassion. These people went above and beyond, and if you’re ever in or passing thru Grand Junction or Fruita, please stop here for the wonderful BBQ and great service. It is right off of I-70.

Lost 1 star for running out of baked potatoes at 630pm. Lost 1 star for small portions. Lost 1 star for mediocre food. Honestly the only good thing about this place was great ribs and 8 $ fat tire pitcher. Otherwise if your hungry expect to pay 15 – 20 per person… And only get the ribs. The sides you get with the meals are small and tasted /looked like they came right out of the can. Unfortunately there’s not much for food joints in this town. Next time I’ll get Mexican when traveling through.

Tasty BBQ and decent prices. My husband had the ribs and the sliced beef. He said the beef was good but would have been better in a sauce. I had the shrimp salad and it was pretty good. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. We live out of state bit if we lived in the area we would definately return.

I had a strong craving for BBQ and drove out to Fruita from Grand Junction(13miles) to have some delicious Q. Not so much. Actually, not at all. To start with, I split a «Skyscraper» sandwich which was supposed to be ½ pound of bbq beef served on garlic bread(swapped the slaw and fries for 2 baked potatoes). Well, the beef didn’t taste like smoked or barbecued at all, so much so that my partner and I wondered if they got it out of a packet from the deli at City Market. The baked potatoes were very dry and I wondered if they had been roasting since the day before. The garlic bread tasted like they had made it with margarine… ick… i didn’t think margarine still existed, obviously it does here. The sauces that are available on the table were pretty average. My partner asked for a spicy one which apparently had Tabasco and cayenne in it, but it was pretty bland as well. After the sandwich, we had planned on ordering some ribs, but after being not impressed by the sandwich we decided to leave. Also, the waiter was really creepy. My partner and I thought he was going to ask me for my phone number and it was really just awkward. I would not return.

OK, so it is a franchise… so what. It’s good. If you are a BBQ fan this is the place. The Q is outstanding, pork, beef, chicken, turkey all good. My fave is the Rib City Riblets with Carolina Mustard sauce. Plates are loaded with meat, fries, cold slaw, beans, toast. You’ll walk away stuffed. If you are a vegan this isn’t the place for you. All carnivores will love this place.
