My family and I wells go to Tijuana Flatts all the time when we lived in FL. The employees/mangers knew my parents after coming in so many times and they were always so welcoming. Every time I would come visit FL after moving this would always be my go to location. After a few years I moved back and started working just down the street from Tijuana Flatts and nothing has changed. The food, ambiance, and service is amazing. I’m not sure if you can still do this, but you used to be able to bring in a ceiling tile that you had decorated and they would replace it with one of theirs. Their hot sauces are amazing. Their blackened chicken flautas are to die for. Cannot wait to visit again!

Some of the best Mexican in town! Fort Walton is a bit of a trash can, but this place is worth going. Awesome hot sauce bar and the chips have this seasoned salt type thing on them that’ll knock ya socks off. Burrito bowl is a fantastic and yummy low carb option that fills me up every time!

Went there for dinner. You order from the counter and then they bring the food to your table on plastic ware which I am not a fan of. I ordered a beer and chips and dip and wanted to sit and look at the menu before I ordered dinner. They asked me for a credit card and I told them I was not happy about that and was going to leave and they relented. The chips were extra salty and the dip was this ok. I ordered a pork chimichanga and was disappointed. It was also very salty and just barely deep fried. With so many other options in FWB, I will not be back.

Second time here, will be coming back! The food is very very good and filling for the price, and the array free, custom sauces adds that extra kick of flavor to push it all over the top. The atmosphere is unique, though a bit loud from the open space. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Highly recommended at 4.75.

I went here with my office for lunch. The food was mediocre. Not sure what I’m missing with all the positive reviews? Will try for dinner one day and see if experience is different.

Not authentic at all, but fine food and awesome people. I had a combo with a beef and bean burrito + chicken quesadilla, with black beans and rice. The food came out quick and was tasty enough, but nothing outstanding. They do have a hot sauce station with 20 different sauces of varying flavors and scoville levels(including one, oddly enough, which was pretty much an Asian sauce) — I tried five of them and loved four. The only bad one, as usual, was the hottest — not flavor, just pure spice. No thanks, I’ll take the habanero sauces that mix the two well. In the end, I also grabbed some churros which were tasty but nothing amazing. Throughout, the people were the best part. Truly awesome, friendly, fun, happy to refill drinks and check on you. 3.5 on food, 5 on service and hot sauces

Pretty good food. The kids loved it and the atmosphere was relaxed. The real treat is the hot sauce bar. I love spicy sauces and this place has it! I even bought a sauce after my meal.

Everything about this place was great! The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, the bathrooms were clean. As well as a cool atmosphere. Great place for families. My recommendation– try the cookie dough flautas. They can’t be beat.

I like my burritos, so I had to hit up here once more since I didn’t write a review at the time. Staff: 5⁄5 No complaints here. Great. I mean, great service. Location: 5⁄5. Colorful! I love that walking into here is like an art gallery. Look up, the tiles on the ceiling have been made into art. Look down along the wall, there’s all kinds of paintings and a mural and even a collage of crazy/funny bumper stickers along the counter space. I even willingly donated mine.(If you find a green sticker that says«GODWANTSYOUTOUSEYOURTURNSIGNAL, this was me) Food: 4⁄5. Tasty, fresh(I’d like to think so at least), but aside from the food, what gets me is the hot sauce bar. I’ve tried various flavors from the sweet to the deadly hot. Each one was specially made and had their own little story of flavor. However it’s a great attempt, yet I’ve had more authentic Tex-Mex before. Pricing: 4⁄5: Not a bad bite for under $ 15. Grab a beer while you’re here, too. Overall: 4⁄5. Good job! What hurt it was no one mentioned it was actually a franchise restaurant until the name Tijuana Flats was dropped on an episode of tosh.0. The whole time I thought it was a classic, colorful mom-and-pop joint but one Google search later, found out that it’s a competitor to places such as Qdoba and Hot Heads… ouch.

First time here. It’s pretty good. One of my soft tacos was not so soft and my wife’s steak meat was really salty. But the service was good and the sauce bar is awesome. I would eat here again.

Favorite texmex! A must on the way to the beach! Really hate we live to far away for taco Tuesday’s. Dos tacos — with a side of queso…

Love the choices of sauces-hate that I have to use it for flavor. Thats their thing though so you either love it or hate it. Had tacos once and they were great. Tried the chimichanga and didn’t care for it. It’s tex mex and maybe that throws me off some because I’m expecting different flavors. The customer service is excellent. I would eat there again but won’t go out of my way.

I like Tijuanas they make some yummy flautas! How can you not like carnitas rolled up in flour(or wheat) tortillas then fried… then you can dip them in sour cream, guac, pico… or their assorted hot sauces from the sauce bar! They are so good, its just an every once in a while treat tho cause I dont want to be 300 lbs. Lol! Also the beer specials were great a lot of choices and very reasonable… I loved the local beer I tried it was bomb!

My husband and I stopped here after 20 – 30 minutes in the car with a screaming baby. We walked in, and were immediately greeted by a very helpful employee. He handed us menus and let me know that there was a changing station in the women’s restaurant if we needed it. We were going to grab the food for takeout, but since the baby calmed down, we decided to enjoy our meal in the restaurant. I’m thrilled we did. My husband LOVES hot sauce and thoroughly enjoyed the wall of heat. He went for the ghost chile sauce and loved it. I enjoyed being able to try a bunch of different sauces. ;-) The hubs got the Bangin’ Chicken Burrito. He was pleasantly surprised with the crispy chicken and the combo of flavors. I got the salad with chicken and beans. The toppings on the salad were definitely on the skimpy side, but it was tasty, and the southwest citrus vinaigrette was phenomenal! I’m wishing we had a Tijuana Flats at home!

We were a little tired of seafood after some funky tasting shrimp(and I rarely get tired of seafood). I had found Tijuana Flats when searching for pet friendly restaurants. They have outdoor picnic tables in a gated patio. They have a note on the door saying that Well Behaved Dogs Are Welcome and a couple of water bowls available next to the hose pipe. We ordered the beefy queso. I ordered the choose two plate with a beef burrito w/verde sauce and a blackened chicken quesadilla. Hubby ordered a beef and bean burrito with the queso. I really enjoyed the beefy queso and my burrito. Really loved the salty, seasoned chips. I didn’t care as much for the quesadilla. Mine also came with rice and black beans which were decent. Hubby was disappointed in his burrito-he would have rather had salsa on it and just didn’t care for it overall. This chain is not authentic Mexican food by any means but it hit the spot. Rinky dink little place with friendly staff, pet friendly seating, reasonably priced eats, and a change of pace from the tourist spots.
