The food and drinks are very tasty here and the people are nice but I have a huge gripe about this place in general: You cannot find out any nutritional information about their food. The web is completely dark, they do not respond to e-mails or questions on FaceBook. I asked someone at the café and she simply said she had no idea and couldn’t help me. Starbucks is expensive and honestly not that good but at least they’re completely up-front about the nutrition and calorie information. I’m not asking for anyone’s secret recipes I just want to know how much sugar and calories are in the bread and, more importantly, the drinks so that I can make informed decisions when enjoying their food. I really can’t justify being an 85 °C customer any longer if I can’t find this information. I know pretty much everything they offer falls under the category of comfort food but that just makes this information that much more important. Is 85 °C something I can make a part of my daily routine? Do they have any food that can be a part of a healthy diet? I don’t know, and they don’t seem interested in helping me find out.

This was my first time to this bakery despite always being on campus nearby. I am a student with a budget, and this place is not overpriced if you buy your items individually from the little cases. I am so impressed by their selection too! I am big on Japanese sweets and this place has it all! I love that they have such a wide variety of treats to pick from and that they are cheap despite the quality. They also have a really good menu of drinks with a nice little Japanese twist making their menu different from your average coffee shop. Service was really fast and helpful too. Their bakery case by the counter with the cakes in it looks magnificent but I have yet to try one. Overall so pleased with everything I bought! I can see myself coming back here often! So yummy and so much fun to go picking out from their selection.

A great place to grab bread for a really inexpensive price! You do get what you’re paying for, so don’t expect the highest quality of bread and pastries. Taro bread: One of my personal favorites, a soft and toothsome bread with a sweet taro purée filling.

«FRESHBREAD!» This bakery has great food to snack on, plus some great desserts to buy for special occasions.

This is the first time I was at this 85 Bakery. It’s a very nice and colorful spot to socialize with friends and just sit and snack. It’s like every other 85 Bakery. The only issue I had, being it was my first time was finding parking. There’s no pubic parking area to park. I found out that there’s a parking garage in the building. It says that the first 30 minutes is free and then you have to pay. I asked an employer and they said that they can validate the ticket for 1 or 1.5 more hour??? I kinda forgot sorry. You can ask them. So you can be there longer and chill at the bakery. The seating and tables are very clean, and nice. The space doesn’t feel packed when I was there. There was still plenty of seating available. The volume was loud enough so you can still talk to your friend but still can’t hear other people’s conversation that’s around you.

2016 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 007⁄100 I am a BIG fan of 85 Degrees bakeries. I have been to several of their locations now(Irvine, Santa Clara, Cypress?, Pasadena, etc.), but I think this one might be the best! It’s in a smaller shopping plaza near CSUF, which is nice because I definitely feel like it’s much more low-key than the other locations. It never seems to be busy at all, and it is also very big and spacious. I was pleased to find the selection of breads was pretty good, as I’ve seen hit and miss locations in the past. I was also very satisfied with the service at this 85 Degrees. The guy who rang me up at the cashier was very personable, friendly and efficient. Can’t get any better than that! Overall, highly recommend this 85 Degrees! And my personal favorite recommendations: TAROBUNS, Berry Tale and the cheese garlic bread :) Top faves for sure!

Seems like there is a much smaller selection of bread here then other 85 degrees locations, but customer service is still great. I came an hour before closing and there were probably 5 tables of people just hanging out. Most of the breads were gone, but they still had some taro and brioche left! This location is doing a lot of promotions, not sure if it’s all locations. But 3, get 1 free breads. Spend $ 12, get $ 3 off your next purchase, lattes: bogo 50%. I always order a sea salt coffee OR a jasmine milk tea, however the hot jasmine milk tea here was something that I could make at home… Meaning it was very watered down. Yes, I suck at making milk teas, which is why I go and buy it. I could hardly taste any tea and it was not sweet… Did they run out of tea or sweetener before closing?! I would have asked them to remake it but I didn’t get to try the tea until after I got home. Parking garage is free for the first 30 min or you can get it validated. We left after 27 minutes but it was around 9:35, so the gate was left open.

I’m a little over-the-top in my 85 degrees addiction. I’ve written to the company asking them to open one in Portland when I lived there, and DC once I move here; I consider the Irvine location’s proximity to SNA when traveling to visit my parents; and I call the first and last trips to 85 «pilgrimages.» I’m out of control. Anyway. There’s something about the Irvine location that Fullerton hasn’t grasped. Which is odd, given that there’s never a line or a crowd at the Fullerton location, so I should be liking the convenience, but the drinks have been so hit and miss every time I’ve been. I order the same thing each visit, and have for several years – peach black tea with boba, pretty #basic, but whatever. The Irvine location is consistent, they always taste the same, and when I opt for less ice or less sugar, those orders are consistent as well. However each time I’ve gone to the Fullerton location, it’s been either nearing syrupy, or somehow flavorless – without making any sweetness or ice changes. Not sure what’s going on there. The pastry selection is always about 5 versions of the same item, and lacks the variety of the Irvine store. Not a huge fan, but I’ll take my 85 locations where I can get ‘em.

Flavors were standard as far as 85C goes, but the bread selection was very limited compared to other locations I’ve been to. Also, the turnaround time for drinks was much higher.

This place is really good. I had heard of it before and had a slice of cake that someone brought to a retirement party, which I didn’t care for, but going for myself shows that there are things they serve that aren’t necessarily for everyone. Their bakery section is different than any other that you’ll find. There are cases filled with different pastries, salty and sweet, and there are tongs at one end that you use to grab the ones that you want and put them in plastic bags. You don’t put the tongs back when you’re done with them, you have to turn them in when you go to pay, which is great for sanitary and allergy purposes. I like how they seal each individual drink as well. The space is very wide and clean. You have plenty of time to choose what you like and browse through the cases before you stick to something. The staff is very friendly and most of the things I ordered were very good. #92/100

Originally I was not a fan of 85°. The Irvine location was cramped, lines out the door, food items were never available, registers were so inefficient and confusing, and I remember seeing a fly in the food case on my very first visit. Not sure what the hype with that place was all about, but the only 85° I saw that day was the 85° brown emoji in my toilet. However… this location is awesome! There’s tons of parking in the garage. Validation will get you an extra hour and a half. The space is super clean and so open. SO open. They could actually utilize the space by putting in more tables/chairs, but I guess it’s left open for the lunch hour rush. Paying is also way more easier. You can get your drinks off to the side and pay for your food on the other register. Now you can order desserts while you pay for your pastries too, instead of paying for them and then having to go to another register for your desserts. They give you a number to pick up your dessert at the display counter once they’re done boxing it up all nice and pretty. Speaking of pretty, the food/dessert display cases are really enticing, all well-lit up and glowing in deliciousness. I wanted to buy everything! But learning from my past mistakes, I only stuck with savory items and opted for only a select few sweet items, since a lot of them have that same cheese custard in the middle. As you can recall, I do not like the same boring custard inside all them buns. I already have my own, thank you very much. But now 85° actually has some new menu items and more variety. Hokkaido tarts, Xmas Taro cake with actual real taro, Sea salt coffee brulée cake. say what?! Skip the craziness from the Irvine location and trek it over to this spanking clean spot. You’ll be in and out with your custard filled goodies faster than Jason Biggs in American Pie.

What I got: –chocolate chip cookies($ 1 each) –chocolate brown cookie($ 1 each) Came in here after eating at Oggis pizza next door. The cookies looked fresh so I went for those. They will still warm when I got them out of the container(this place is serve yourself style, like yogurtland for pastries and deserts). The taste was great! Not too sweet; not to mushy! The outside was firm and the inside was the perfect amount of chewy. It was clear that these are being baked fresh all day— and it was 8pm when I went in! Will for sure return!

«Fresh bread!» They call out«fresh bread» and bring out new batches every few minutes. Great sign of nice turnover and fresh inventory. This location is much more relaxed and easier to get your bread/cake selections than the crazy busy Irvine location. Highly recommend the mocha bread, raisin toast and hot dog rolls. Also their is something special and unique about their speciality 85c coffee that you have to try… It’s nothing you can get from Starbucks, Peets or CBTL.

I have come across many 85 °C Bakeries, and all of them seem to have a really long line. I was Unilocaling a dessert place and stumbled upon this café and decided to give it a try as I have heard nothing but good reviews about it. Best decision of the night! I ordered the Premium Taro Brulee(?) It was pretty good, but the custard in the middle threw it off for me, but that’s okay. My boyfriend tried the Deluxe Strawberry cream and it was the BEST thing ever. I would get that over anything anytime anywhere. We also ordered the Black Forrest cake but have yet to eat it. This location is near a school so there are a lot of college students inside studying, so it is a pretty quiet environment. It’s also very clean and this location is huge compared to the other ones I’ve seen. Will come back to try other yummy desserts and drinks

I lucked out by getting parking right off the street in a 10– or 20-minute zone. This 85 is spacious, but their bread selection is fewer than the usual, which was puzzling considering they’re right by a school. The café was clean and had tables for students to study. They could probably fit more, though I imagine that would make the place look more cluttered.

I will fight any man or woman even who says you should never have salt with coffee. I lost my mind when I saw Sea Salt Coffee on their menu. Yes, they must be crazy. Yes, I must be even crazier to try it. I’m so glad I did. On any 20+ degree afternoon, all you need in your life is an iced sea salt caramel coffee. If you’re feeling extra fresh, they have an incredible selection of Taiwanese style pastries(may I suggest the vanilla cream pastry which pairs incredibly well with the coffee?). Desserts will tempt you as you’re paying. They have a wide range of cold delectable treats encouraging you to come back again to try their full menu. There is limited space to sit but with such beautiful weather, you’re best off enjoying your new discovery outside on the promenade. TL;DR: ICED. CARAMEL. SEASALT. COFFEE. Life is complete.

Sitting in 85 right now and I’m already loving it. Why is this my first time here? I’ve been to other locations, but I need to kill time before my next class so here I am. I ordered a large sea salt jasmine green tea= $ 3.00. I consider this a pretty good deal since my cup isn’t full of ice. And they have sea salt! One of my new found loves in life. It’s so cute, all the employees yelled that they have fresh bread lol. Anyway, the cashier was very friendly. I asked for help between two green teas and she recommended the one I chose and it’s good! And if the boba and breads are like the other 85s, then I’m sure everything’s great. Im surprised it’s not packed. There’s a good amount of seats open. I’m definitely coming back more often to finish homework :) Omg staring at the desserts rn brb.

Pros: This chain of delicious Taiwanese goodness is par to none! Now it is readily accessible in the fullerton area in my hometown! There is a parking garage next door which helps with the parking situation and you can get validated for more time. The bakery goods are fresh and the drinks are delicious! The price is on the lower end but of course you can get their fancy fancy bakery goods behind the glass(e.g., cakes, tarts) and pay a little more if you want. The staff is really nice and attentive to your needs! I love their matcha iced latte, peace green tea, milk teas, and sea salt anything drinks! Their honey glazed buns, egg tarts, and just about anything there is good! Cons: Compared to other 85 degree bakeries, this is probably the smallest one I’ve seen but the selection is still decent and it tends to be a little less crowded. Overall: If you need a Taiwanese bakery fix and in the Placentia/Fullerton area, definitely drop by to get a drink and/or pastry! Highly recommended!

Their Coffee is BETTERTHANSTARBUCKS! That’s what El Hubby said. He’s very particular with his coffee and he really loved 85CBakery coffee and said it’s better and cheaper than Starbucks. He was even craving it. We Unilocaled the nearest one, so that’s why we ended up here. Place looked small from the outside, but there’s a lot of space inside with tables on the side. I saw a lot of students with their books and laptops. They serve coffee, tea, all kinds of cakes, pastries, bread and etc. We had. –ICEDSEASALTCOFFEE $ 3.75 for Large– El Hubby loved it!!! –ICEDSEASALTJASMINETEA with BOBA $ 2.75(.50c with boba) — Not too sweet. I’d get it again! –CALAMARISTICK $ 1– Black bread rolls brushed with garlic butter on top and thin mozerella cheese inside. It’s black from the squid ink mixed in the dough. It’s soooo good, but there’s a big air pocket inside. Wished it was all bread. –HOTDOGCHEESEBREAD — The bread is so soft. Great for kids! Next time I want to try their cakes. Highly recommend it!

Fresh baked goods, beautiful cakes, yummy drinks, and nice employees. From the breads. I recommend everything!!! Lol. I also really like their sea salt iced coffee and their iced teas. This location is pretty big, and not too hectic, so it seems like a decent study spot.
