I vote Dance Pavilion the most diverse dance spot in SoCal. While I was there a few Fridays ago, I saw people country and hip-hop line dance then dance swing, salsa, bachata, cha-cha, the foxtrot, a waltz and finally perform a scene from the«gangnam style» video. That’s right — emineffin gangnam style! I participated in the stuff I could, but had to draw the line at that one! So, how can they do this? I think it’s because the place feels like a family affair. Everyone seems to know each other, which helps to facilitate different types of dancing. When you add in things like line dancing, you make it comfortable for people who might not have the training in the more formal dances. It also helps that they have food. Very smart… While I don’t know much about the lessons, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law both go here and love it. Each time I’ve shown up for one of those social dancing things, I swear that she introduces us to a different instructor. That’s got to be a good sign. So, I will continue to make it out to Dance Pavilion for my once-per year trip for my brother-in-law’s birthday. I’ll just have to brush up on my… everything!
