My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on a Friday and there was no wait — yay! After looking at all of the pictures on Unilocal,my boyfriend decided on the country fried steak. And I got the Benedict omelette. The country fried steak was disappointing. It was cooked a little too dry, and there was not enough gravy to make up for it. We’re not sure if it was over cooked because it came out looking kind of burnt. I did enjoy my Benedict omelette, but it didn’t satisfy my Benedict craving. I’m not sure if I just really wanted a poached egg for brunch or if it was because it was a little light on the hollandaise sauce. Service was good — we were promptly seated and they always made sure our waters were filled. I was really excited to try this place, but it left a lot to be desired :(

Never have I ever thought you could mess up brunch but Egg Cracker has accomplished that. Came in for Sunday brunch which happened to also be valentines day and it was not busy. There was a short 10 – 15 minute wait but sitting in the waiting area you could see they had a bunch of empty tables open. When we got seated the table had not been wiped down yet so the hostess got someone to wipe it down immediately and we were served drinks instantly. Soon after we placed our order I noticed a bunch of parties waiting around for their food. Luckily our food didn’t take as long as some of the other parties to come out. We ordered: Steak and Eggs Benedict — Please watch video I posted. LOL. Honestly this was probably the biggest disappointment ever. The egg was overcooked and there was barely any hollandaise sauce. The steak was also over cooked and dry. This entrée came with potatoes as well. Afterwards the waiter clearing off our table had asked us how the food was and I asked them if the eggs benedict was always cook that way with the egg hard boiled basically and he said yes… so maybe they are consistently bad with this or its the way they actually cook it. But according to other Unilocal pictures the egg has been poached and runny before… so??? Benedict Omelette — The omelette was also on the drier side. It was filled with bacon but was also lacking on the hollandaise sauce. The hash browns that came with this entrée was very good. Sausage Links — Probably the best thing we had during our bunch. They had a sweet taste to them and I would definitely recommend ordering these. Buttermilk Pancakes — Also very dry quality. Not fluffy and moist at all. Coffee — Literally paid for hot water. You could see the weird color of the diluted coffee and if you look closely enough you could see a layer of water floating on top because the water didn’t mix well. Very disappointed because of all the good ratings this place had. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I could say everything needed a little work from customer service to food.

Very excellent place for breakfast. Trying the country fried steak and eggs and Escondido omelette. Prices are decent but lots of choices which is a good thing if you are gonna eat small or big.

My mom and I both ordered New York steaks and we weren’t expecting high quality or anything like that, but the steak which was ordered«medium rare» was not edible by any means. Even after chewing a piece for 5 minutes, there was no way to finish it besides having to swallow the entire piece whole. To put it in perspective, out of the entire steak, I could only manage swallowing one piece and just left with a tired jaw. I’m sure by the other reviews, their other entrees are okay but definitely stay away from the New York steak. It’s easily the worst I’ve ever had! The service didn’t make the experience any better so it’s safe to say that we will not be recommending this place to anyone. Side note: Keep in mind this is the first negative review I’ve ever left on Unilocal and it takes a lot for me to leave one.

came on a saturday afternoon with a party of 3 including myself our server was super nice! ordered: portobello mushroom fries(can’t top Bottega Louie’s portobello fries though!) stuffed french toast dinner omelette(they were nice enough to substitute the hashbrown/country potatoes for mashed potatoes!!) 2x steak & eggs benedict food was sooo yummy and i highly recommend the dinner omelette! super filling service was great! would definitely come again :)

Omelette was OK. The potatoes were horrible. Not cooked all the way. I would probably not come back again.

Ordered Steak & eggs with hash browns. Although the steak size was huge, they did not cut it right. Very chewy. I asked for medium cook it came out medium rare. Hash browns was not brown at all. It was more like mashed potato. I don’t remember my last time having a bad steak that could I not finish it. Service was a little confusing but our waitress was cute. Would not go back though.

I came here with a few people for dinner because we had a groupon deal. I usually love eating breakfast for dinner but for some reason, I was not in a breakfast-y mood. The place was pretty empty around 7:00pm. As we sat down, we got some carrot cake type bread which was good. we ordered a few appetizers and then our entrees. We ordered Egg Cracker Fries($ 6) French fries topped with bacon, cheddar, grilled onions and a fried egg. These were super delish! Love the flavors of everything combined! Portobello Fries($ 6). Sliced portobellos lightly breaded and fired. Served with garlic aioli. These were okay. They were slightly burnt and charred. Didn’t care for these. Roasted Half Chicken($ 11) Rosemary honey glaze, green beans and roasted red potatoes. My boyfriend said this dish was okay. It was a little on the dried side. Loco Moco($ 10). Ground Beef Patty, Fried Egg, White Rice & Brown Gravy. My brother in law said this was a pretty good dish but he still loves the loco moco at curry house SPECIALOFTHENIGHT: Ribeye on a bed of mashed potatoes and some string beans. My sister and I shared this $ 17 plate. The ribeye was juicy and moist. It was actually very delicious and we were both stuffed! The mashed potatoes was on the VERYBLAND side. Had to add some salt to it. The beans were okay. They were a little burnt but manageable to eat. Overall, I don’t think I would come back here again. Maybe eating here for breakfast might be a better idea? Who knows. Maybe I’ll give this another shot but not anytime soon.

Since I’ve been back all I’ve been eating is breakfast and not just any type of breakfast, it’s an American style breakfast. Maybe I’ve missed USA, I’m not too sure but I usually never like going to these kind of places, but Egg Cracker has been on my mind since I last went to visit them. The service is so nice and our coffee was always filled and all the dishes were done well enough that I can still remember what we ordered! So down to business we got for a table of two the Steak and eggs Benedict, chicken noodle soup, Brussels sprouts and egg cracker fries both were recommended from our server. If you can see we ordered a gang load and even though that happened we still loved all of it. If you want to be on the light side I would just skip the egg cracker fries and go for the Brussels sprouts even if you aren’t a veggie fan they are done so well that it’s just that bomb!

FOOD– Ordered the benedict omelette with a side of hash browns. First off, let me say that«benedict» and«omelette» is contradictory. Apparently, their steak benedict is an actual eggs benedict, while the benedict omelette is a straight-up omelette. There was nothing benedict about it. That is not a problem, except I was expecting an eggs benedict. I wasn’t too upset and opted to keep the dish since I subbed longanisa sausage for bacon, which I highly recommend. I probably would not have been pleased with the dish had I not made that change. The longanisa sausage tasted kind of like hot links and it gave the dish that extra kick. Add on Tabasco sauce and you are set. Overall, the dish was ok but not extraordinary. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely finished it all including the small bit of leftovers I had. I think it was more a matter of the longanisa sausage, Tabasco sauce, and cheesiness that did it for me rather than the benedict omelette dish specifically. DRINKS– Mimosas were good. I feel like the serving size was decent. Their mimosas don’t come in the standard champagne flutes, but in a wine glass instead. It’s a little under half full but it’s certainly more than enough. SERVICE– Pretty good. I walked in on a Sunday morning at 10 am and was seated right away even though my party wasn’t all present. The waiters were really nice and kept coming over to make sure I got my menus and water whilst I was waiting for my party. Overall, would not be my first choice for a brunch place, but it is a decent choice.

Came with a gf for lunch/brunch. We got the steak n eggs Benedict, fried portobellos, and huevos rancheros… steak n eggs Benedict was my favorite! Steak was so tender and the eggs were poached to perfection! Fried portabellos were really good too If you’re a mushroom lover. And huevos rancheros were ok for my tasting but my friend really liked it :) Service was great! So friendly and made sure to take care of us well. Def going to come back again and bring the hubby! :))

Mehhhhhhh. I’m from SF so I know what good brunch is & trust me this place is not good brunch. We wanted to grab brunch when we were in SoCal, this place popped up on Unilocal so we stopped by. Was seated right away upon arrivals. I was expecting this place to have more benedicts dishes but they only have one and the rest are mostly omelettes. The BF got the steak Benedict while I got the Benedict omelette. There was nothing special to their dishes. In fact I thought we both thought our dishes were super salty and I couldn’t finish my brunch. I didn’t even care to pack up my food because I knew I wasn’t go to eat it later. We had to chug a lot of water with our food. The best part about my omelette was literally the toast they served on the side, but I wish they didn’t slab on so much butter… not saying butter isn’t good but I thought it was just excessive. Wouldn’t come here again. The hunt for a good SoCal brunch place continues.

Had brunch here before we went to see Star Wars. Wife had the New York Steak and Eggs. Huge portion of steak– we’ll worth the 14 price tag. I had the Steak and Eggs Benedict. Eggs were perfectly poached. I did have a piece of steak was extremely chewy(inedible). The hash browns were fantastic, I think they added some butter. 12 dollars. I highly recommend the New York Steak and Eggs.

I guess I kinda like this place. I had the breakfast sandwich with the egg over easy. Sooo moist and delicious. I was really excited for the honey sriracha brussel sprouts but it came out scorched. I thought, maybe its just the coloring so I tasted it. Tasted bitter as hell; i had to return it. Even the server knew it was burnt because when I flagged him down, he asked if it was about the burnt sprouts before I even said anything! Why would you serve it then?! Minus 2 stars. Dish came with hawaiian sausage and tomatoes, but they forgot to put tomatoes on the plate. Customer service was average.

HASHBROWNS, I am coming back for you! Got the Escondido omelette which comes with choice of potatoes and toast. I have not had the other potatoes, but I can say you cannot go wrong with the hash browns. In fact, next time I come I may just get a couple orders of hash browns($ 3 side)! Forget the omelette and everything else! The hash browns were perfectly and evenly golden brown. They made it sort of like an omelette where the two crispy sides are folded together to create a soft and fluffy almost mashed potato consistency interior. We had two hash browns at the table which varied a bit. One was fluffier and thicker than the other, but both were equally delicious! BF enjoyed the complimentary zucchini bread that they served. They were thinly sliced, moist and not overly sweet. The omelettes were alright. Big portion, fluffy and not overcooked. Main issue would be the lack of fillings. We had two different omelettes, but they tasted pretty much identical with barely any toppings. Besides the hash brown perfection, I also really appreciate how our english muffin and sourdough were nicely buttered and toasted. Overall, solid place for brunch!

Convenient location and the modern décor is a nice touch. I ordered the Escondido omelet with a side of country potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the Steak and eggs Benedict with hash browns. The flavors of the omelet were quite nice, offering both sweet and savory notes with the cheese and apple sausage. I ordered the omelet with less cheese just because brunch places sometimes overwhelm the omelet with WAY too much cheese but the cheese content was just right. My country potatoes were light and crispy, and not too oily. My boyfriend enjoyed his Benedict, but he wished the slices of steak were more tender or cut into bite sized pieces. His plate came with a mountain of hash browns that he didn’t end up finishing(surprising, because he LOVES fried potatoes in any way, shape, or form.) With that said, we are so ready to try the egg cracker fries the next time we come in!

Convenient location and delicious food! Had the egg Benedict omelette, veggie omelette, and whole wheat pancake– omelettes were flavorful and not too salty, the homestyled potatoes that came with the omelette were crispy and not too greasy. Pancake was unique and healthy tasting. Service was good as well. Now I’ve found myself another fav brunch spot in north OC!

I’ve gone to this a couple times already I love the service and food here. This place got breakfast done right. There have been many new places reinventing breakfast creating some sort of southern and California fusion and just putting syrup on anything that is related to breakfast. That’s not what I want. I want eggs meat and potatoes. Then I want potatoes with cheese on it. This place offers that and even then some. *Egg Cracker Fries — This is the best start off appetizer for breakfast or for lunch. These fries are cheesy goodness! This is a MUSTHAVE on every table. The reason being is because they serve this one off fast and it gets your stomach from growling waiting for your main dish. This dish includes crispy fries, melted cheese, bacon and shredded onions. Then an Egg on top that oozes out. I mix it all in and it is just cheese heaven. I always am tempted to get a second order, but I must old back. It is self explanatory on why these fries uphold the same name of the business. **Country Fried Steak — I have a BOLD Statement, but this has got to be the best country fried steak I have ever had! The steak is thick and the texture is perfect chewy-ness in my mouth. Then adding on with the gravy. It is just perfection on a plate. This thing is so heavy, it will keep you from doing anything the rest of the day, and I hope that’s exactly what you want. ***2 Eggs and Protein: This is the standard combination that proves to be the breakfast of champions that cannot be changed. I love eggs and I love my meat. No more no less, this is exactly what you get. I got the Filipino Longanisa and eggs and I replaced the hash with rice. Its just a Filipino Weekend Breakfast. I could have made this myself, but they make it just as good. Overall, this is my new favorite place in Fullerton. I plan to go here again and even tell more people about this place. Thank you for the multiple and future meals!

How Do You Like Them Eggs? I like mine nice and gooey in the middle. Egg Cracker was definitely a good choice for lunch! They serve breakfast all day and definitely got the opportunity to try many different dishes. We enjoyed the aroma and couldn’t wait for our friend so we ordered a couple small plates and then the main courses! We had: Crispy Brussel Sprouts — $ 5.00 — Glazed with honey and sriracha Portabello Fries — $ 6.00 — Sliced portobellos lightly breaded and fired. Served with garlic aioli. Hot Pepper Shrimp — $ 7.00 — Sauteed with garlic, red pepper and lemon juice Longanisa Sausage w/Side of Eggs — $ 7.00 Chinese Chicken Salad — $ 7.00 /$ 11.00 — Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, almonds, mandarin oranges, noodles and served with sesame dressing California Burger — $ 11.00 — Spinach, tomato, avocado, bacon, pepperjack and sun dried tomato spread Daily Soup [Chicken Tortilla Soup] — $ 3.50 I personally would recommend everything we had — we liked it all! My top two recommendations definitely must haves are brussel sprouts and portabello fries. Brussel Sprouts were super crispy with a hint of the sauce — absolutely delightful! Even a friend at the table who hated brussel sprouts say they were good! Try it on your children. Portabello Fries — Crispy on the outside and we know mushrooms retain water. Yummy Salads can be ordered by the half size — which was perfect to allow room for other food. Definitely will be coming back to try more of the other items!

Now that I’ve given this place a second try, I can fairly say that I won’t be coming back again. Like another reviewer said, it’s like an overpriced Denny’s. First and foremost, service here the second time was great. They were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food just did not live up to the hype and photos from Unilocal. — Smoked salmon omelet: It was an overcooked scrambled eggs mess with very fishy(canned?) «smoked salmon». No amount of ketchup or hot sauce can mask the fishiness of the salmon and the graininess and dry eggs. — Stuffed french toast: I’m not really sure what the stuffing was, but it was a pink colored mush. I would have expected some fresh ingredients. — Steak and Eggs Benedict: Did not taste this, but it looked ok. — 2 eggs and chicken sausage: Chicken sausage was really dry, it was more like a chicken jerky. — Blackened salmon salad: Frozen salmon thrown on top of some leafy greens. I really wanted to like this place, but I can tell they have tried to cut a lot of corners. I would have liked this place to use better/fresher/quality ingredients.
