nice interior, kind people, varied menu, and tasty korean dishes. I love this place so much!!! they have dishes from casual food to traditional korean food. even bobas for your dessert. strongly recommended!!!

Horrible service! Stay away from this rat hole. When we went they had us wait entirely too long. We also noticed that several other customers got sick of waiting and left. The service was rude and had a horrible experience. I would not recommend yuchun nor would I ever go back to this dump again. Warning! Do not dine at this sorry excuse for a restaurant

This place isn’t called miru anymore. The new owner(a very sweet lady) changed the name to maru. The nengmyun here is awesome. It’s the exact same nengmyun from yuchun from LA. Same owner makes same nengmyun I guess. The donkatsu(pork cutlet) is a huge cut. They have specials, such as the happy hour. The happy hour consists of a lot of original dishes for cheap prices. The décor is very nice here. I love the super high reaching couches. Dishes to try here: donkatsu, mool nengmyun, bibimnengmyun, and their dumplings!

First time coming here for lunch. My friend invited me and had a coupon for free dumplings with neng myun. Let me start off with criticism: the place is in a bad location. There’s barely any parking spots, and it’s away from the real business in Amerige Heights. Prior to today, I thought the place was actually an apartment. Bad location brings back business. The place was near empty, and there was only one waitress. She was busy with the customers and we waited for almost five minutes before getting seated. The waitress was nice and polite. Granted, I don’t speak Korean, but she was friendly toward my Korean friend. The pictures of the banchan I displayed was all we got; there was almost nothing. Just pickled radish, picked leafy greens, and spicy pickles. 3 dishes, thumbs down. The steamed dumplings tasted good, and it was a good addition to the nengmyun. Nengmyun: I’ve never had this type of nengmyun before. They added a spicy touch to the soup, and I added a hint of mustard. I never drank the soup before and tried today. It tasted good. There were a couple pieces of cold sliced beef in there, half an egg, and more pickled radish and cucumbers. The food tasted okay. The bill came out to be $ 19. A bit more expensive than I expected. I’m concerned with this place’s business. If they were situated where Barnes n Nobles were where Top Class and Rubios were, they’d do a lot better. 3⁄5 stars.

I came here on two different occasions… for lunch with my mom and also during dinner time to eat and drink with friends. They used to be an upscale American seafood restaurant which lasted for a year or two and then changed to this Korean style Chinese Fusion/Bar restaurant. Located in a very popular and busy shopping mall area in Fullerton, this place attracts customers of all ages. I noticed a lot of my parents aged people dining here during lunch time and to take advantage of their lunch special. We ordered two different noodle dishes which were A-OK but I’ve had a lot better in Korea town where they actually use«fresh» noodles. The broth/sauce were all just semi average and nothing really special that stood out for me. For dinner time, they serve a different menu where it consists of either an entrée or tapa’s style of both Korean or Chinese dishes. I really didn’t see anything that was so much«FUSION» on their menu. It’s your typical korean bar menu with typical korean bar drinks and typical korean bar ambience. Might be «cool» to those who are still in college or in their early 20’s who have not experienced much bars out in LA. Or a good place for those who are around our parents age meeting up with local friends for a drink. For the price, I’d go elsewhere. For the food, I’d come here if I were in the area and someone was craving korean chinese food. You can get this type of food for half the price minus the ambience. Of course, if you were with a date and wanted to get her drunk, why not pay more for alcohol and mediocre food, right?

For late night eating, I was rather impressed with the food here. The ambiance is pretty clean and almost classy considering it’s bar food. My friends and I came here after book club and ordered a special of three choices among several along with beer. We got dumplings, tang soo yuk(not soggy, but crispy), and jjambong(zesty!), which were all quite tasty(better than many places). To add, we also ordered sweet potato fries, which I was also very impressed with(very thin and crispy, one of the better ones I’ve had) and japche, which had more ingredients than the noodle, also impressive and not soggy. We wound up eating everything. For the price, I felt the quality of food was quite high. We came in a group of six, and there was ample room. Definitely great for late snacks with friends.

Food was good. Had their Fried Beef(tang su yook) with the sauce separately. Jeng Ban JJAJANG was good too. They used the thin noodles so it wasn’t too filling until I attempted finish off everything that came with the noodle. Tang su yook took 10 min to come out, but the JJAJANGMYUN took 25 minutes. We figured the chief had to go catch some squid in the ocean to make our sauce. In the end, we ate everything, but too bad it took 25 min. Unacceptable. They could have at least offered to give us some free desert or something. lol

If you are even a day under 21 years old, don’t even consider going to Café Miru. I am a 19 year old college student, and this place was one of the worst ideas i’ve ever come up with. Firstly, I walked in, all the waiters and waitresses assumed I was korean, and started frantically talking to me in their foreign language. When I told them I was not korean, they gave me a disappointed look and walked away. I then excitedly opened the menu, because from outside, this restaurant looked like such a hip and classy place to eat at. However, once I opened the menu, my heart stopped as I glanced over the prices for the entrees. EVERYSINGLEDISH was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I was very tempted to just walk out of the restaurant right then and there. Since I was actually pretty hungry, my and my date ordered a few dishes to satiate our hunger. However, at the end of the night, my wallet was empty, as I paid on average 20 dollars per dish for something I could have easily bought for 6 dollars at Panda Express. Granted, the food was actually decent tasting, and I liked it. But for 20 dollars and a small sized plate, this was one of the worst dinners I’ve ever had. If you’re reading this, please don’t go to this restaurant unless you’re willing to spend lots of money for overpriced food that just isn’t worth it. The service was average, despite non of them speaking very much English. On a positive not though, the ambiance was nice, and I actually heard the bar is solid. Overall, one star for Café Miru, perhaps 3 stars if they divided their prices in half.

This place is extremely expensive for what you get. Its basically family style chinese food except you get a lot less for a lot more money. My boyfriend and I ordered the Mongolian Beef which was not worth the 23 dollars it cost. I can get a hearty steak at a nice restaurant for around the same price — instead I got a dish with more vegetable than beef. We also got the shrimp with chili sauce. Both were pretty good — forgettable though. Our bill came out to 43 dollars for two mediocre dishes. From the looks of the disappointing menu, you’d think the numbers aren’t the prices because its just so unbelievable that«orange chicken» can be more than 10 dollars. I don’t see why people will go back to this restaurant after their first visit unless they go for the atmosphere because its just ridiculously overpriced. … Even then, the atmosphere really isn’t that worth it.

The food is prety good, but it helps if you bring someone who is korean or can speak korean. We tried this place when it first opened, and had to have 3 waitress help us because of their limited English. I know Fullerton has a huge Korean population, but come on. non Korean dollars are just as good, right? Appearently not. We tried this place 2 more times, and each time we strugged with the language. It was a chore to deal with, and i’d rather spend my money to a place who can attempt to hire an English speaker(at least one person). Overall the food is tasty, but not cheap. Their fried chicken wings was delicious but I think a basket cost $ 18. Granted, they were big wings and I took some home, but that was pretty expensive. We stopped coming here and now started going to the Tofu place in the same shopping center… which I find odd that the shopping plaza would allow same sort of ethic food located just steps from each other.

I used to come here a lot last year. The interior and ambiance is really nice and modern. Really nice compared to all the other korean bars!!! They have pretty good food here like the tong dahk(fried chicken), tofu, jjambbong(spicy seafood noodle), odeng tang(fishcake soup), fried rice, steamed egg. Oh gosh I can’t even remember what I ate here but thats what I can remember as of right now haha. Suprisingly they have a full bar *grins* hahaha. This place is a good place to go If you dont want to go to the ghetto gohl mok gil. Me likey!

Ok, so my husband, friend and I went here on a whim. We noticed that it was one of the newer restaurants in the Amerige Heights center and so we decided to try it. We were really attracted by the interesting and modern décor that we saw through the windows so we thought, «Why not?» We got inside, liked the ambiance but when we looked at the menu– not impressed! It looked like a menu from Panda Express with a few Korean food thrown in there. The servers called it «fusion» but I didn’t see much of this. Nothing on the menu really caught our attention. My husband got the«Orange Chicken» and he said that Panda Express’ version is way better. My friend and I got the Bulgogi and it was forgettable. I was really disppointed. The Bulgogi from Tofu House in the Ralphs center is waaaayyyyy better! Ek. We should’ve just gone there. Well, at least now I know not to waste my time. I gave Café Miru 2 stars for the ambiance but I will never go there again. Oh! And we got the calamari appetizer and it was crap. It actually wasn’t calamari, they were mini octopus legs that they were trying to pass off as calamari. Sorry, nice try.

I’ve been here maybe twice. It’s not my type of place anymroe but I can see the draw if you’re say college age and want some place kind of hip and fresh. It’s convenient because it’s local and you don’t have to drive up to LA to go some place cool. On the flip side, like I said, it’s no longer my interest to go some place just to be «cool». Having said that, this place is overpriced(as expected) and not really as «cool» as they want you to think they are. I have to admit the last time I was here was way back a few years ago but still… it’s just one of those places. Very pretentious… basicaly the same people who think«Pink Berry» is so cool come here also.

Before I moved to LA I always heard about how dangerous koreatown was… not Compton dangerous but people would tell me to watch out for wannabe gangsters, etc. Maybe I don’t go out enough or I lack street smarts but after 2 years of living here I’ve seen 0 fights(among Koreans) and I’ve spotted 0 gab du gis. My older friends would tell me about their Prive days and all the fights that they’d get into. I’ve been to Cercle, Blink, Hodori a bunch of times and I’ve never been maddogged or shoved or whatever yet.(Hwood is a different story) Haha well anyway I saw a fight at Miru between these 2 Korean girls(who were kinda cute fyi) and they were flipping out on each other Christian Bale style. They finally kick one of them out(after 20 minutes of screaming) and she says that she’ll wait outside until the other girl comes out. An hour later when I left she’s still outside waiting and there was a huge crowd of late 20s early 30s looking to start shit. I hope somebody kills me if I regress to that. My theory is all the ktown gangsters moved down to OC. Oh yeah so the girl who was scared to come outside went out the back door. I’d give Miru 1 star if it was located in ktown but if you only compare it to your choices in OC, Miru isn’t THAT bad. It is clean, on Saturdays it gets packed, and the service is friendly… if the prices were more reasonable I’d definitely give it a better review. You can tell that they’re trying really hard to make it nice, I give them props for that. Also, at 2am they start turning on all the lights — I didn’t know I was at a club!

I couldn’t decide between a 3 and a 4. So I decided to just go for broke and round up. After a long day at the Queen Mary, and a feast of $ 10 Korean BBQ after the expedition, my bf, BFF, and friend decided to go to Miru and meet up some of our friends. Four pretty and nice girls, three cool and funny guys — the recipe for a fun night, right? Hmm. I don’t know. Miru has the worst parking. Most of the time, I park closer to Ross, as the lots are larger over there. We walked into Miru, and immediately, I was blasted by the NOISE. Call me old, call me ornery, call me picky, but I am not a huge fan of really loud music(it’s counterproductive to good conversations). Anyways, despite the deafening music, I have to admit, Miru is probably one of the better Korean bars in the North OC area. The décor is more what you would expect from an overpriced bar in Ktown or an equally overpriced bar in Seoul. Oh, wait. It is a Korean bar, and it IS overpriced. Haha. The reds, whites, and blacks of the interior definitely give you the sense that you’re at some hip, upscale place, that’s for sure. We were led to a booth in the back, and unfortunately, it was the ONLY table available to seat a party our size. Yeah, this place gets crowded on weekends. The location of the booth didn’t matter to any of us(we weren’t exactly there to see and be seen), but we happened to be sitting directly under the speakers, so the music was even more thumping where we sat! After five minutes of screaming and yelling, «HUH? WHATDIDYOUJUSTSAY?», we were totally over it. When the waiter came to take our order, I asked, «If any other table opens up ANYWHERE, can you move us?» He looked confused at first, until I explained, «IT’S TOOLOUDHERE!» Instead of moving us, he offered to just turn down the music. Kudos to the waiter, because in about 60 seconds, I didn’t have to yell at the top of my lungs to figure out what we were going to order. The fare? Typical Korean bar stuff. I didn’t drink anything but two Cokes all night, but the alcohol selection is nothing special. I do know that they serve hard liquor here, and that’s not all that common at Korean bars around here. A definite bonus for those in the mood for something a little smoother than the typical soju. I didn’t eat anything here last night(we just came back from AYCEKBBQ, remember?), but I did dine here on other occasions, and I must say, the food is pretty good(if overpriced). Surprisingly, my favorite is the steamed dumpling plate. YUM. I actually have people get it to-go for me sometimes, when I’m not in the mood to go myself. Hehe. Their sweet potato fries are yummy as well. Now, why the«hovering on the three-stars» thing? Well… one particular waitress just was NOT having a good day. She was incredibly rude in a sullen, heavy-lidded way. She wasn’t flat out rude(it’s not as if she said/did anything uncalled for), but she did have the«attitude» look on her face. When I asked her for a refill on our waters, she just said, «Fine,» in Korean and stalked off. I don’t know. Just a very negative vibe from her every time I asked her something. Hmm. So, to sum it up… If you’re looking for a better alternative to the typical Korean bar in the OC(with the wood tables and uncomfortable seating), well, this is the place to go. If you’re in the mood for a wide variety of food(bar food only, after 10pm), then this is the place to go. If you want to have a good time drinking, laughing, and being rowdy with your friends, then this is the place to go. If you want to have a serious, intimate conversation with a close friend, then… go somewhere else. I guess this place has more pros than cons. Perhaps I’d give it a better rating if I actually liked drinking. Haha.

Ah, Miru. How I loved you before I found out how overpriced your food was. And I’m not exaggerating(at least, not by my standards). It’s just outrageous how expensive the food is here. They barely give you enough to feel full, and they make you cough up your life savings for one meal. For example, my family and I ordered the kung pao shrimp and the Mongolian beef. The food was decent, but the portions were minuscule. And our bill almost gave me a heart attack. It cost us over $ 40 for just 2 dishes! That’s not it, either. The décor is absolutely ugly; every time I went there, I felt as if I was eating in some dark, abandoned lighthouse that was poorly designed in an attempt to make it look chic. I don’t think it’s really my fault that I felt this way; there were barely any people, and the night sky was brighter than the interior here. It was that dim. This place really needs to shape up if it wants more customers. I’ve heard of other customers echoing my sentiments about this restaurant. They just don’t give you enough. If you want better food, better service, and a better atmosphere at better prices, I suggest you go to Emperor’s Court. I felt sorry for this restaurant because of its measly amount of customers every time I went for dinner, but now that I realize that the food isn’t worth as much as they charge me, I’ve grown apathetic.

It’s Fullerton, you don’t have a lot of competition for a Korean drinking place. And it’s in one of the most diverse plazas around. Gas station, Target, Barnes & Noble, Islands, bank, etc. And its surrounded by residential neighborhoods. Food is not bad, sorta on the expensive side but if you’re used to dining out in Ktown or something, its totally normal. As for a Korean drinking establishment, the alcohol is as diverse as you’re gonna get. It’s still limited but not just to soju and Korean beer. Service is average and the décor is gaunt. But it does have the advantage of looking mostly modern. The restaurant is fairly large and will accommodate a large party. Overall not bad. Not great. But a drinking spot always feels better with good company.

Came here as there aren’t a whole lot of places to go in the north OC. Came here more to drink more or less, but I was curious to try their new menu items which included the Jja Jang Myun. It was actually not too bad… Really haven’t been paying attention to the pricing, but I think their prices are a little steep for a place like this… shrugs.(good thing I don’t go out to drink too much) :P

This place used to be more of a Japanese/french fusion restaurant when they first opened a year or two ago. I guess the business didn’t do too well for it changed names few times before it became«Miru». I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but tried enough to say that the food is just average, but that’s not the reasons I go here. This place is a really good place to chill with friends for some drinks and late night munchies. They do have a bar, but can’t really say a full bar because they don’t seem to have everything to make the drink that you may request, but I would say the selection is good enough to satisfy most people. I would say that this place is probably the best place I know in Fullerton for late hours.

I can’t believe what polarized reviews this place is getting. My friends and I came here for late night drinks and food(this place is open til 1AM) and ordered kung pao chicken and spicy rice cakes(dduk bok ki) and two bottles of soju(lemon and yogurt flavor). The food portions are large and managed to feed a party of five and the yogurt soju was the obvious favorite of the group. We split the tab among all of us and each ended up paying $ 15 which isn’t so bad considering the alcohol in addition to the food. Service wasn’t bad but it helped to have a Korean speaking friend order for us. Atmosphere is trendy, restaurant is clean, location convenient because it’s in a huge plaza with a Barnes and Nobles, Target, and Albertsons.
