One of the only places open late night in DTF. The staff was friendly, and the pizza was great. Not much else to say! ;)

Solid pizza. We like that they experiment with a variety of pizza toppings. The BLT pizza – with mayonnaise, no less – thumbs down. I must admit that this pizza was not my choice, but we had a group of people over, so that was the vote. Back to the pizza: the lettuce and mayo was weird and just didn’t work. However, the bleu cheese and buffalo chicken is excellent. In essence, this place is hit or miss, but the misses are not horrible, just«eh.» On a side note, they used to give a 50% discount to law enforcement members’ orders. Out of nowhere, they changed it to 25%, which is still not bad; nevertheless, their policy seems inconsistent, so beware of changes on a whim.

Came here for dinner after buying a Groupon Now deal. With the groupon it was a good value, but I don’t think I would come back and pay full price. The service was very good. I was expecting to order at a counter, but it is sit down table service and our waitress was very friendly. We ordered an XL bayside white pizza. It was alright, but not great by any means. The flavor was ok, but it seemed a little bland and like it was missing something. We asked for a side of Mariana sauce(I know it goes against the purpose of a white pizza, but as previously mentioned it seemed like it needed something). The sauce seemed to help the flavor, but again it was just alright nothing special. Overall the service was good, the restaurant was clean, but the food was just ok and not worth paying full price.

First off, where’s the garlic powder? You can go to any pizzeria in nyc and find garlic powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, and grated parmesan cheese on every table or counter. One of my biggest pet peeves is a pizza place that tries to trade on anything NY or NJ. Just do you and everything will be alright. When you try to do something else, something from my heart, I’m going to bring out the magnifying glass, and my magnifying glass is vicious. First, what’s the deal with the cracker crust? Just because Ellio’s Pizza* is based out of Jersey doesn’t make you authentic because you serve Ellio’s-like pizza. And the worst part is they actually spin dough here, but the dough is terrible. *Ellio’s is a frozen pizza that you can warm in an oven or in a microwave. I like that the place is open late on the weekends. I’m sure a lot of the students partying at the bars love going here for 4th meal. But what about when your’re sober? Tri-state transplants will easily uncover your deception. I’ve had bad ny-style pizza in SoCal before, and this place isn’t the worst. But I’m tired of places trying to fool me to spend my money by claiming to serve the flavor of home. Secondly, why do you serve slices on ceramic plates? That’s not authentic. And the sauce is too sour and the cheese has way too much water content. This place is a fiasco. It’s for suckas…

My wife and my cousin’s wife were going to some«naughty» ladies only party which was basically like a tupperware party except with um… devices. ;-) So my cousin and his kid along with a friend and his kid head on over to NYPD for some pizza. Like most reviewers mention the place was dead. Saturday night during prime time dinner rush and we got parking right in front of the door and there were maybe two tables in use. Strange since the place has a bar, plenty of booths/tables, and giant pizzas. Seems like the perfect hang out place. To start we order«Garlic Knots» which were freshly baked rolls topped with garlic and herbs. These knots were huge, almost fist sized. At first I thought they brought out cinnamon rolls on accident. It was served with a bowl of hot marinara sauce and my cousin dipped his in ranch. These were steaming hot. The first one I had was pretty flavorless. I couldn’t taste much garlic at all. The second one I ate was loaded with flavor. These were good but unless you’re a party of 4 or more like us I wouldn’t get them due to so much bread. For our pizza we ordered the XL Manhattan Meat Lover’s Pie which had pepperoni, meatballs, smoked bacon, homemade sauce and mozzarella cheese. When the pizza was delivered the aroma caused my mouth to instantly water. Like the garlic knots the smell was wonderful. The pizza was so huge that each slice was about the size of two slices from another pizza place. It was a thin flimsy crust though so you couldn’t really lift up the slice without folding it in half which I guess is where the New York style comes to play. I’m a wuss so I ate it with a fork. The cheese was thick and tasted very high quality. The sauce had a strong enough flavor to punch thru all the toppings and tasted good. The toppings though all tasted pretty much the same. Even though as a whole they tasted good nothing really jumped out individually. Service was very attentive throughout our meal with constant drink refills.

To be fair I’ve never had a slice of pizza from New York, but I’m not a fan of this place. Don’t get me wrong, it’s clean, the service was great(I went on a slow night), and I tried the garlic knots, but I just wasn’t impressed. Even the pizza was just ok. The only reason I’d see going here is after hitting the bars in Downtown Fullerton. Other than that, I still suggest Tony’s in Yorba Linda or just stay home and order one from a chain.

The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because though over-priced, they DO have good pizza. Not too greasy and the crust is just perfect. Other than that I really despise this place. I live on top of it and have tried many of their dishes and been disappointed. 1. spaggeti and meatsauce– tastes from a can, nothing home made about it… not ordering it again 2. antipasto salad with italian dresssing– actually really good big salad. Its hard to mess up a salad tho when the dressing is on the side… The dressing is just from a can. 3. eggplant parmasean is DiSGUSTING. its just fried and greasy then covered with CHEESE. The only good things about this place the Fri and Sat night Hours(open till 3 am) Red Trolley beer on tap and the pizza—

We went on a whim with a Groupon coupon last week. Here was the consensus around the table: it might not be the best NY pizza we’ve ever had but it’s still pretty good. Here’s what makes a pizza… sauce and crust. I f you can get those down you can put toothpaste on the pizza and it would still be good! The sauce is actually one of the better sauces I’ve tasted(including Tony’s in Placentia). Service is ok. Nothing special. With a Groupon coupon we had an XXL pizza for only $ 5, not including tip. I thought that was a great deal for a family. In fact, when we were eating it reminded us all of a pizza place in Jerusalem(yes, Jerusalem) that served a great NY style pizza. It’s in the old city by the Joffa Gate called Jacob’s Pizza. Great pizza and great memories…

I love their pizza! So delish! I love the thin crust with the cheese so hot and melty in my mouth. =) My favorite is their margarita pizza I could get a large and eat it all on my own. =D I’ve been reading how their service is not so great and its such a bummer because my friend use to live right by this place and we would go there all the time. All the servers are really nice and sweet. Yes, they might night always come to see how you are doing but just holla at them and they are always willing to get you anything you need. I’ve been here in the morning, afternoon, nights, or even late nights after walking around in down town Fullerton at 2am. =) The pizza there is always bomb! =)

Sunday is Pizza Day! I’ve been to NYPD Pizza previously, and while it has been somewhat hit or miss thought I’d give it another try. Probably never again, though. I checked online for a menu so I could call in my order. They might have a website, but if they do it’s lost amid the aggregated search results. Googling«NYPD pizza fullerton» should get you their site at least on the second page of results. Strike one. Atmosphere: The door adjacent to the parking area is locked. Counter guy had his eyes glued to a baseball game, not even noticing I had come in to the store. Bathroom had a note on the door saying«Please knock – handle broken» but it was not so much broken as non existent. No soap in that bathroom, either. Strike two. Pies were thinner than they used to be(a trend I’ve seen at more than one place) and simply not that tasty. Definitely a step down from when they opened up shop. We’ll call that a probation violation. Price. One 14 inch white pie, One 18 inch double pep, 2 appetizers = 50 bucks. Their prices are already a step above most places, but check out the«additional toppings» prices: 10″ $ 1 dollar per topping 14″ $ 1.50 per topping 16″ $ 2.00 per topping (see a pattern here?) and then… 18″ $ 8.00 per topping! That’s a hell of a jump in price! And with that we have Strike three. Between the sticker shock of ordering and getting it home to taste mediocre pizza, I’ll be avoiding NYPD as much as the homeless are avoiding the FPD these days. It’s now Wednesday, and the charge for my pizza hasn’t hit my bank yet. Did I mention the counter guy imprinted my card«old school» because«our system is down right now»? LAME! Another edit: Today is November 4, and the charge for the pizza I bought on OCTOBER23 just showed up at my bank. Looks like they’re either super lame or holding receipts so as to minimize bank deposit trips. Either way – NYPD pizza has lost my business.

The few times I came, I actually really liked the pizza. Too bad the service will keep me from eating here anymore. We called to order for a pick-up and the guy on the phone kept laughing and talking to people in the background and wasn’t paying attention to the order. Then he inexplicably hung up the phone. When my husband called back, the guy continued to laugh with his buddies without apologizing for the hang up. When we went to pick up the food, we realized he was talking to his coworkers who were playing catch with a piece of dough in a nearly empty restaurant. At one point, the dough got stuck to the ceiling. My husband asked to speak to someone in charge and they said there wasn’t a manager or anyone there. After that, I made my husband watch them while they made our pizza because I was nervous that they’d do something to it(or use said dough). Pizza was good. What a shame.

So I hear there’s a legit NY style pizza spot in DTF, my reaction: OMGGETTHEFFFFFOUTTAHEREEEEEEYAY!!! … uh, spoke too soon. My friend and I went there in the middle of the week during late lunch/early dinner time. We both ordered a slice, garlic knots and a pasta to share. The price for the slice was nice, $ 1.99 for the basics and for every additional topping is an additional charge. I got mine plain and my friend added a few toppings. MEH, the slice looked like it could be authentic but boy the second you bite into it, you’d be a fool to be fooled. The sauce was mediocre and the cheese was very gunky and kept falling off my slice :(Not cool man. As for her slice, the amount of toppings they actually tossed on there was not worth the price they charge. The garlic knots were surprisingly very good, toasty on the outside and soft deliciousness on the inside. Alas the pasta, pretty basic marinara sauce drizzled on top with very overcooked noodles. The best part about the pasta was the grilled veggies in it. I asked the lady if I could get some more sauce for the pasta because it was very dry and some more marinara sauce, she did very kindly but didn’t mention that she was going to charge me for it. Seriously? I’m no cheapskate, I happily paid for it. But I just would have appreciated her letting me know before handing me the check with misc charges. With all that said, I actually found a pretty dope place with slices that are the closest thing to NY I’ve tasted out here and it’s in Whittier. And they didn’t plaster their walls in paint to convince you you’re in NY. The food should just say it all, and as for this place? They might need more paint. — Only one server at dinner time. Not that they were busy(only 3 tables). + Parking was easy surprisingly, you can park in the structure below the apartment buildings. They have designated parking spots for the shops on the street. + I hear they’re open late night, so I guess there’s a silver lining.

For a better written and more concise review in agreement with mine, read up on Heather P.‘s checklist… Sure it’s not *completely and totally* like NY pizza, but when it’s past 2am and you’re at that«I’m not effed up, but I probably shouldn’t be making out with a cop’s breathalyzer anytime soon» point, and there’s enthusiastic and helpful young folks providing decent service, nicely priced adult beverages on tap and pizza with a great crust to boot — hell yeah five stars. Easy parking(thanks Craiggers for parking like three blocks away, good job there buddy). Plenty of seating. Booths and tables for big parties and intimate«post-dance floor grinding with strangers» gatherings of two. We figured, it’s late, we’re hungry, we’re *ahem* slightly inebriated, and we just sped by a pizza joint with a nice bright OPEN sign. Flip that bitch! We got a huge pie with some great toppings. Unilocaling for Dummies tells me that if I don’t remember details, but continue to use exacerbating adjectives such as «huge» and/or «great,» then I may manage to still attach some legitimacy to my words. But it’s true, people! If you’re looking for that fabulous NY replica that your pizza taste buds have been aching for, this isn’t it. However — the crust really stood out to me as being tasty and fresh. If you’re looking for that gastropub-esque wide selection of crafty brews, this isn’t it. However — we were a-ok with a cold pitcher of Stella for a neat price. And finally, if you’re looking for a hole-in-the-wall to hide from the d-bags, this isn’t it. C’mon… the douches Unilocal too, you know :) But otherwise? Five awesome stars.

This place is so empty I fear it may go out of business. I was the only one there until my friend met me for lunch. The servers tell me that this is a hangout for the local college(s), and when there’s no college students, well, it’s dead. The place is super clean, however. The New York style décor is cute, although no place in Manhattan would be this clean. I was told the pizza is the thing to get(duh), as it’s thin crust crispy, NY style. I had a cobb salad and it was okay, but nothing to write home about. Average, but there are better choices in Downtown Fullerton.

I am a fan for their late night special. I used to live at the apartment above, and they would have 50% off special from 10 – 12. Me and my roommates would come down here and get a 2 large pizzas and like 30 wings. The Pizza is pretty good I had better, and I don’t think the wings is that special. I even ask if they can send the wings though the Oven to make it more crispy but they decided my request. SO2 pizzas and 30 wings for $ 30 – 40. The happy hour deal is good. The food overall is pretty good, but if you don’t get the happy hour 50% off the food is kinda pricey. Maybe you wouldn’t mind after a late night in DTF.

Pretty good pizza! I am not a new yorker, I am a native oc girl, so I don’t have the comparison, but anyway. We had an Entertainment Book coupon for buy-1-get-1 so we got 2XL pizzas for leftovers. Got the Buffalo Blue or whatver it’s called, and I thikn the Pesto Chicken one. Both were tasty, very bad for you, and good with Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing on them as well. So, exactly what I expected. We’ve been in 2x, 1st time the server was GREAT, 2nd time we got the other girl and she sucked. But it was a pizza place, we weren’t fine dining, so whatever. Their online Entertainment coupon has disappeared off the Entertainment website sadly, it was a coupon you could use 12x, 1 time a month. We used the one from the actual book the first time thinking we could print the online ones after that, but it’s gone. Bummer. But we may go back anyway. It was good, and since I am not part of the drink till you drop in DTF crowd any longer, I didn’t know they’re open after 2. Wish they’d been around 10 years ago.

Finally, finally my brother convinced me to check out NYPD. Having lived in Fullerton and hanging around here I am a but surprised that we have never been and that it has taken this long to check it out. I had a feeling that there was going to be some cheesy«NYC» décor and I am usually one for anything NYC to remind me of one of my favorite cities but a little too cheese for my taste. So yes cheesy décor and after I got over that I ordered up what might one of the best deals known around town. 1 slice of cheese pizza for $ 1.99 and a pitcher of an adult beverage for $ 4. Sharing a pitcher and a couple slices of pizza you can get out of here for super duper cheap style. Great prices, decent pizza(nothing like real NY) but still decent and bring the right crowd of friends and you could have yourself a good time.

When the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pie? who cares! When the pie hits my taste buds I feel like I went to the moon on a tasty spaceship and soared back through the taste heavens. I was looking for a good NY style pizza, found one. On the happening corner of Commonwealth & Lemon near Fullerton College, you find NYPD Pizza. In the«Midst» of many clubs, pubs art and eateries, not to mention many hungry students. Foodwise, they provide a quality pizza. We had this pizza delivered to our office in Anaheim, it was warm and delicious, like hot Woman. Pepperoni pie We had five large pizza’s, pepperoni, hawaiian, deluxe, chicken, and one with onions, mushroom & meats. Why? I got stuck on the pepperoni pizza even though I wanted to review the 4 other pizzas. Well, this pizza was so delicious, I ate about 8 slices of the pepperoni pizza. The pizza it was soft and thin enough to do the«Brooklyn Roll.» The crust tasted so fresh as did the other ingredients. Top notch cheese and pepperoni. When I rolled up that second slice, it tasted like the greatest sandwich I ever had. I will be back, to try other pizzas, calzones and wings as well as getting some more pepperoni pie.

There were no NYPD officers serving me pizza. But during the series of which the Dodgers and Angeles were racing towards the chance of a Pennant. I saw a whole bunch of those fans swarming this NY establishment in the middle of Fullerton. Pesto Pizza that Kundizzle bought that night, was almost as good as the quality of Jupiter(Berkeley, Ca.) and definitely much better than California Pizza Kitchen no questions ask. Don’t know how much it costs, since I didn’t retain the receipt, but its reasonable late night(college food for CSUF students). Too bad I don’t live here and I’m not as much of a pizza fanatic as I used to be as a kid watching TMNT. Overall good stuff and probably a better representation of thin NY Style pizza, than the other failed places I’ve been to in the past, cheers!

This place isnt bad but its not really good either. On my lunch break I headed over to this joint since I’ve driven past it a hundred times, and I got two slices of pizza and a soda. Their pizza is thin and crispy, but kind of cardboard like crust. The cheese is good but the sauce is soo bland. This tastes like your staple«food court in the shopping mall pizza» Not bad, but I have had better, I am sticking with my other local Fullerton Pizza places.
