Did some searching for a good burger joint within the Downtown Fullerton area and came across Pie Dog. Hot Cheetos and mac n cheese on a burger? Sold! I’m a sucker for burgers, hot Cheetos and mac n cheese so to have the three combined is heaven and the burger did not disappoint. I was a bit hungry so I ordered a double patty. The meat was juicy and had a charbroiled flavor all throughout. The mac of course served as the cheese for the burger. The combination of that and the juices from the meat when biting into was delicious. The hot Cheetos gave it a crunch and it’s flavor was also present, not being outshined by the other two. I made sure to finish every crumb of Cheetos before the waitress took my tray. I love that stuff. In addition to all this was the red mayo on the burger that added a citrus flavor as well as made the burger juicier. Excellent burger! Tator tots and onion rings were ordered on the side. Both were great with the burger. I like that they toss their tots in garlic and parmesan. What really made these two dishes awesome were the dips, mainly the Mexican Coke BBQ sauce. That sauce was amazing. I’m not big at all on using BBQ sauce as a dip so I tip my hat off to Pie Dog. I took some to go and used it for dipping nuggets into later that day. I wish a had a bottle of that sauce. I could just imagine how it would taste on barbecued meats. There’s not many food places near the bar district that I can say I’m a fan of so I’m happy I found this place. The beer selection is also great and the pints are reasonable. I’ll be stopping in hear for both burgers and beers before heading to the bars rather than waiting until after leaving the bars hoping to find something decent. I’ll be stopping by here even if I’m not heading to the bars. The food is definitely worth it. Lunch 6÷18÷2016

The owner’s disregard and flat out rudeness to customers shows the direction of this place. Enough said.

Was pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant near downtown Fullerton. Good selection of beers, and tasty sausages and burgers with cool variations. A chill atmosphere, good service, reasonably priced, what more could you ask for? Tip: order the tater tots, selfish!

First off yes I’m crazy over food. It has to be on point or I will send it back this is one of those times. Don’t believe the hype of this place over priced beers. The staff slow as dirt. What I can say about his place is yes the prices are do compared to McDonald’s that’s about it. I was not impressed with my burger what so ever than you have to pay for all the extras? I sent my burger back cause they have sweet pickles I hate sweet pickles I have to have pickles on my burger. So I sent it back later to the Asian manager getting upset that I didn’t like the burger cause of this pickles going on and on about how the are special and this and that. I don’t care. I like what I like. The girl I have to say was nice. She could see I was over this place at this point. They brought me someone kinda dog that was hot. It was ok not much too it just spice. When the ticket came they never took off the burger at this time I was done. The manger kept coming over and asking if everything was ok no dude you didn’t take if the burger. They had already ran my husband credit card at this point my head wanted to pop Off like a bobble head. He came over again and asked what was wrong. You didn’t take anything off the bill??? Yes I did he says I’m Looking at it you did nothing. My husband was already done with the place he said don’t even bother. So we left needless to say we won’t be back. I never wrote Unilocal reviews but this time I am. There is a million different places to try around here you never go hungry. So McDonald’s it is!

Solid food. Solid service. I would go back for sure. It’s a burger and fries place — they do these things very well. Cool atmosphere. I don’t drink but if I did I think I would rate this place higher — big emphasis on craft beer. Overall I would recommend.

Came here for dinner date with the wife after the movies. Had heard a lot about this place but never tried it. It’s close by to downtown Fullerton. Parking can be a bit challenging as it is within a structure shares by other residents. The food here is awesome. Probably one of the best burgers we have ever had. In my opinion, the taste and quality even tops the famous BurGR run by Gordon Ramsey. Ordered the famous pie dog, the fun guy burger and side of fries. The pie dog is mixed with a nice blend of sausage and this special mustard. Really delicious. The fun guy burger is like a mushroom truffle burger, nice and creamy with the mixture to the sauce. Finally the fries, can’t be any better than have the garlic sauce on the side for dip. At Most places the garlic and Parmesan are generally blended in. Love how it is separate and you can dip in on the side. Highly recommend this place for your restaurant burger cravings. The staff are nice and helpful. But most importantly, the food is second to none. We will definitely return.

OMGYOUNEEDTOCOMEHERE!!! **Mon– Fri 3 – 6 is HAPPYHR $ 4.50 any beer*** Tried out this place today because I had a craving for a burger, but I didn’t want to get just any burger. I wanted something different and Pie Dog sure gave that to me. I got the Blazzin Saddles. Let me tell you, if you like spicy food give this burger a try! The flavors were amazing. Drunk or sober I would eat this burger. The service was great and everyone was really friendly and nice. Go and give this place a try you won’t regret it.

Well here’s my review on pie dog. I seen it come across my Unilocal search multiple times. But have never really taken a chance to try this place even though it’s about a mile away from my home. I went with the hot box which is basically a cheeseburger with Mac and cheese Hot Cheetos cheese and some type of the sauce. Got to tell you this was a delicious burger. very impressed. My wife got the veggie burger which was also impressive. They have great onion rings and french fries. Many types of beers to choose from. If you like to drink beer. my daughter got the corndog and loved it the meat from the corndog was very tasty oh trust me I tried that too my niece got the hot dog with ketchup. Kind of plane but it was really good. Now I see why this place has 4 ½ stars on Unilocal.Staff was very nice service was good great experience overall keep up the good work.

In search of lunch, Pie Dog popped up on my Unilocal search. The«communal wooden bench seating» posted by another Elite Unilocaler wasn’t appealing, but its high ratings and fun menu item names and descriptions had me laughing, that I was eager to check it out right away! Very friendly staff(and I appreciated seeing that the kitchen staff was wearing food prep gloves!). Very flavorful smaller-scale burger. With so many interesting-and-attractive options, I ordered their basic, Sir Loin of Beef($ 7.50) + Pepper Jack Cheese($ 1) + TK(O) Ranch Sauce($.50) — I wish there was an option to select another bread. Great«Franch Fries»($ 4, large): nice-and-hot in temperature, crispy exterior, appreciatively subtle garlic flavoring(unlike so many overpowering garlic-flavored menu items out there these days). It’s obvious they pride themselves on their beers, in which they offer 25 beers on their menu, along with the option for flights. Far less options on wine; it was a generous pour given the small –almost cute– stemmed wine glass(I’m partial to big wine glasses), and the«rotating selection» featured 2 winemakers and 4 varietals(bummer, a better wine would’ve been a great pairing with those tasty burgers). Fun find!

This place is rad. They’ve got a few dozens beers on tap and a simple food menu with hot dogs and burgers. Right when I got in I was welcomed by a waitress who asked if I wanted to sit at the bar. I grabbed at seat right at the front of the bar where I could either watch tv or just kind of watch the staff deal w the money and serve up beer. Ambiance wise, this is my favorite kind of place. Somehow it manages to be cool, without being too loud such that you can’t hear conversation. Just a few things about the style of this place that I like: 1. They’ve got big bench style tables you can meet someone new at 2. There’s some cool murals on the walls 3. There’s an arcade game in the corner. I didn’t see what it was, but don’t forget your coins if you want to find out! 4. There’s this open area that you walk through on your way to the bathroom that is kind of pleasant. If you wanted more intimidate conversation you could probably take your beer and a friend and just hang back there The beer I saw was mostly from local breweries. I like to buy local, but I had to go w the Belgian Bavik Pils this time. For my food, I went with the Fun Guy. Swiss, garlic sauce, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. This thing was good. Unfortunately right when I took a bite it fell apart. It was less a reflection on the build of the burger, and more about how uncoordinated I am. Next time I’ll try one of the dogs.

My bf really wanted to try The Hot Box after seeing some of the pictures on Unilocal,so we decided to try this place for dinner. Pie Dog is located on Commonwealth, near Chomp. There’s street parking or you can park in the structure nearby. We came here for dinner at around 7pm. There was no wait and we were seated right away. Drinks: They have craft beer here. We like dark stout so we ordered imaginary land(milk/sweet). It was delicious ~ It has a nice black coffee aftertaste. Food: They serve burgers, hot dogs and wings here along with sides of tater tots, fries and onion rings. For appetizers we ordered a side of tater tots with spicy mayo. The sauce was a little spicy and was a great dip for the tater tots! We ordered the Hot Box Burger(dressed in a mac-n-cheese + hot cheetos sauce) and the Team America Burger(cheddar and bacon). Burgers were good but it was really small for the price. It was probably three bites for my bf. Needless to say, he was still hungry afterwards. Service: Kind of slow. The waiter brought out fries, which he had mistaken for our table. Then he brought it to another table, but nope, it wasn’t theirs either. Poor guy looked so lost. I like their sauce here but overall food was average. I can get more for the price at Umami or G Burger.

Burgers are legit. Fries and onion rings are legit. The service, especially the owner is legit! The Boba Feta was delicious. It has a great combination of flavors and wasn’t too spicy at all! The onion rings and fries are great too. The G– sauce was defiantly one of the highlights of the meal, it is a MUST, not if you come here but when you come here. The food overall was more of a high 4 star rating. However, the service was incredible and earned the extra star. The owner was very welcoming and fun to talk to, all other owners should take note. Overall it was a great experience and I will back for some more burgers and to try the great variety of beer they have!

Is it bad that I’m a grown man eating tots with my burger? Well don’t answer that because either way I’ll be back to do it again. Had a blazing saddle it was good but honestly I was just happy to have tater tots and they were criissssspy! Like big bills from the bank teller. All jokes aside I just was happy to see a place offering a nice variety of themed burgers and of course delicious parmesan tater tots. I would definitely come back.

Overall an OK experience. The burgers were good. The meat patty was juicy and tasty. The ingredients all went well together(although the bun was a little too thick). But the burger was tiny and expensive. You can get a better burger at like Red Robbin or In&Out for less… We also got their tater tots which were good but nothing special. Also ordered their wings but wouldn’t order again. It was pretty much Korean Chili Paste as the sauce… but it didn’t really go well with the wings… I think they need to work on it… The service was excellent. The alcohol was good. They have a pretty good beer selection. Plus the ambience was chill and relaxed.

Love this spot! Me personally, since I enjoy beers, I come here for the craft brews! They have 24 different brews on tap changing regularly where you drink a different kind of beer every week! You can never go wrong with their beer selection! Just tastes so good when it touches the lips!!! Their Beerologist, Markuz, knows his sh@t! As far as the food, we haven’t had any complaints when we’ve come here. We seem to never leave any empty plates when we grub! My 21 month old daughter loves their tater tots w/BBQ sauce, my wife enjoys their Fun Guy Burger & I destroy their Hot Box Burger with Bacon! I’ve been taking my Family here regularly since last year of July! It’s like our«Cheers», ‘where everybody knows your name!’ We’ve found a spot where we feel comfortable & be free. Their staff is definitely Imperfect & ‘one of a kind’ which gives a good vibe to their customers! We keep coming back cause they make my Family feel welcome & they always take good care of us, especially my lil’ girl! Thank you! Much love to the Pie Dog Crew, especially Donny, Markuz, Elaine & Alyssa, they definitely always hold it down! Keep up the good work Donny & Pie Dog Crew!

Pie Dog has been on my list of must try’s due to the ‘The Hot Box’ aka the burger with Hot Cheetos! Finally got the opportunity to stop by & I loved the environment. It’s such a chill place to hang out with friends, eat good(but bad for you) food, & drink all sorts of beer. The interior is so cute with wide open space, communal wooden bench seating, & simple décor; I also love the view of all the beer taps & the large chalkboard menu. The staff here is great; they are outgoing, funny & act like they’ve known you for a long time. I ordered ‘The Fun Guy’($ 9) with swiss, g sauce, mushrooms, & a fried egg(extra) of course + a side of tater tots with red mayo. Yes it’s a very basic burger however it was delicious; it wasn’t too big or small & just the right size. The patty was juicy & contained so much flavor + the egg yolk dripping added to the deliciousness of the burger itself. The tater tots were sooo good. Every bite had a little crunch & that red mayo was probably the icing on the cake. I took a bite of The Hot Box & although it was good, I don’t think I could’ve finished the whole thing to myself. I also ordered a beer but I don’t remember what it was called. I really enjoyed Pie Dog a lot! Mainly for the atmosphere + the food/beer just tied it all in together. Definitely check this place out; it’s good stuff!

Donny recommended the Blazing Saddles burger so I got that even if I entered wanting the Hot Box burger. I regret getting it. Why? Because now I am forever enslaved to Pie Dog and now play favorites. This keeps me from trying other new places in the area. Also, service was truly impeccable and even if I had a long day of work, the friendliness and good vibes here were enough to motivate me to loosen up and enjoy a great meal. The Blazing Saddles was truly a spicy burger with the right type of spice… not the gochujang type or habanero sauce type but some sort of heavenly concoction. It was rightly spicy and was just enough to have me at the edge of my seat. I didn’t get any additional toppings and was more than happy with the original burger. The patty was also so darn juicy. Mmmm craving it already. The tots and fries were also good, although the fries definitely take the win. Crispy and the right amount of thickness… Grapefruit IPA and the Bad apple cider were tangy and pleasant… I guess I’m a fruity type of person. Can’t wait to be back to try the other goodies.

I came here because I saw their pictures of the burgers. Ordered the Sirloin Burger as well as the shared the«Fun Guy» with my friend. The sirloin, as it’s described, can come with any choice of it’s «boring» sauce. I, however, forgot to even choose a sauce. Either way, I got the taste the meat by itself and it was still really good. That’s how you know the quality of the meat is up there. The«Fun Guy» was good too. Came with swiss and mushrooms. The sauce is not too over powering so you can still taste how good the meat is. The burgers, however, were a bit small, so I wasn’t really full after eating it. Also ordered the Garlic Parmesian Tater Tots as appetizer. These were bomb! Nice and crunchy with that garlicky taste to it. They give a good amount too.

Pie Dog is somewhat out of my usual stomping grounds, but our tool house is a couple blocks away, and our favorite pet supply is right down the street, so utilizing my trusty Unilocal app, away we went. I’ve been here twice this week, so I’m gonna combine the two visits in one review. The restaurant is really hip, and has some great industrial chic décor. Long communal type of bench seating, and some interesting angle iron fixtures for lighting. As a woman I especially appreciate all of the hookers –uh I mean purse hooks. We had the same server on both visits(thanks Markuz V– you’re a rockstar!). My husband is a thirsty sort, and you kept the beverage refills coming. Our first time, I went with a Brat with onions, sauerkraut, and spicy mustard. Really yummy. My husband had the pie dog burger. He also liked it very much. Their fries and onion rings are off the chart amazing. Fast forward a couple days, and we’re back in the area. Today we tried the burgers, and they too are amazing. We went for the GI Joe special– a burger, fries and a soda for the bargin basement price of $ 10 bucks. This burger was something really special. The meat was super juicy, and well seasoned. I upgraded mine with bacon, and the hubby and Bro went with mushrooms onions and Swiss. I look forward to returning in the later hours for another great meal with adult libations.

I had a pie but was too chicken to try the dog and had a fun guy burger instead! I’d describe Pie Dog as a beer hall with a little class and sass and straight to the point menu of a few great tasting burger combinations, sides, entrée creations and desserts. Oh, and of course beer. Markuz was our funny and biased waiter that suggested the Paq-man hot dog and said it was best as a corn dog. The Paq-man hot dog is a longanisa Filipino sausage that he said was more sweet than spicy and any of the sausages you can have turned into corn dogs(side note: they had a menu item called Monica Belluci which was a spicy Italian sausage. I thought that was funny). I decided to try the Fun Guy Burger instead. WHAT I ATE: FUNGUYBURGER — Really good hamburger patty on a potato bun with swiss cheese and grilled mushrooms. Excellent! GARLICPARMESANTATERTOTS– Yeah, get them, they’re good and better than fries. STRAWBERRYPIEFROMCOCOTHEBAKER — Not from Coco’s the bakery/restaurant. This pie was good, but I think I’d rather get a whole strawberry pie(on sale now at Marie Callendars) from Marie Callendars instead. AVERYLILIKOIKEPOLO — I’m probably going to name my kid this fancy A.F. name. IT’s a beer Markuz suggested and it’s delicious, crisp and lightly tart and it came in a small ass goblet. That’s what made this place classy. Actually this drink and the fact that they have purse holders at the end of the tables made this place a tiny bit classy. I also saw they had a hot box which was macaroni on top of hot Cheetos which I was not daring enough to try and I’ll probably save that meal for one of those days I’m listening to Adele and being supes emosh.
