I went there today and why the cashier girl so rude by saying Korean in low form(ban-mal) with atitude? And she did not smile the whole time and she wasnt polite when we asked questions about the menu. If you dont want to work there, please get another job. Dont mess up with other people’s precious time like that. And I urge you to learn How to speak Korean politely. I am not going there anymore.

Food gets 4 started Service gets 0 stars Average is 2. Management needs to retrain their cashier and teach her what customer service is. The girl I encountered did not say hi. Did not smile. Did not say a word when I was returning the empty tray right in front of her. And of course, no thank you come again.

The counter lady was SUPERRUDE. I usually dont give a bad review but… Bingsu was okay but the lady on counter was giving me an attitude, acting like I have done something wrong. So, I asked for strawberry bingsu + condensed milk on the side. But she acted like she doesn’t understand what my friend and I say+ rolled eyes ._. Srsly… Why would you roll eyes while we didnt do anythin wrong :/!!!and when i asked for the wifi she just pointed at the card and walked away wtf? Agh not a pleasant experience here. And she threw the spoons at me. And seriously the green tea bingsu? it’s literally vanilla icecream with green tea powder on it

Not bad. But not spectacular… This is my second time here and while the shaved ice is consistently good, I feel like it’s not worth the outrageous price. I mean, more than $ 12 for a small bowl of shaved ice? I’d rather go to Sul and Beans in Ktown where it’s amazing, service is solid, and provides great atmosphere all around. The first time, my boyfriend and I tried the Oreo Okbingsul and found it to be good, but not amazing. Like I said, it’s way too expensive for some ice, Oreo crumbles, and a scoop of ice cream on top(9.50+). The second time we got the strawberry and again, it was decent but felt it was overpriced(12+) especially for the portion. Servers seem timid, not exactly cold but not willing to be all that accommodating. Will I go again? Probably but only if I’m really craving shaved ice/snow, which is like once every couple of months. Even then, I’d rather make the trip to LA.

From reading all the reviews, I feel like this place is honestly a hit or miss. Took my sister and BF to this place to give it a try and I was actually pretty satisfied with what I got which was the injeolmi shaved ice with added red bean. But if you don’t even know what that is, it might be hard for some people to even like it. My sister ordered the watermelon shaved ice(which I almost got) and it was very plain, the shaved ice doesn’t really have a taste itself so idk what flavor I was supposed to be tasting. Bcus weirdly enough the watermelon wasn’t even sweet. My BF said he enjoyed his green tea one but I felt like I didn’t taste anything. I felt like there wasn’t even enough matcha powder to even create a green tea taste. But overall I was satisfied with my order. I give this place a 4⁄5 personally but since I’ve already tried others 3⁄5 But A+ for their presentations

Lovely place. I work at interior design industry, and I love their store design. Store ambiance gets A. This place gets super busy during weekend from neighbor church during 1−3pm so be aware. Don’t blame on them even if your foods are served late during the peak hours. This place is specialized in Korean shaved ice and looks yummy. Although, it is a bit pricy for non-Korean people just for the shaved ice but I guess it’s worth trying if you are new to it. Come here every weekend just to get a coffee and stay for 2 hours. I just like the environment, and welcome service by their stuff members. PS: They may be open from 11am, but only coffee are available at early morning.

The most unique dessert I’ve had in such a very long time. The price is expensive, but this place is definitely worth trying. For about $ 11.50+tax, my friends and I got the Watermelon Shaved Ice and it came out in a bowl with cute decorations and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The ice cream accommodates to the blandness of the shaved ice, and the watermelon scoops give the dessert a vibrant color. When you eat this bowl of color, your taste buds will be a little confused, but dwell in the moment! The ice will give you chills, but this dessert is a really interesting concept. The cashier and her other coworker weren’t greeting us properly and just abruptly took our order. Not that it mattered, because my friends and I were excited to try the menu. In the end, they kindly took our plate and thanked us. Thank you girls, too!

This place is, in my opinion, just Ok… bingsul…puns based off a language I am ignorant of, how wonderful. The dish: Korean shaved ice. It has an actual name, but I do not know it. The verdict: It was alright. The time: I dunno, sometime after 7:00? Look I told you, officer, I was nowhere near Palo Alto at the time of the murder. We ended up getting the green tea okbingsul with red bean added. While it was enjoyable, I don’t know if it was enough to blow me away. The snow texture was interesting since it was so powdery, but if you don’t plan your eating you could be left with just a scoop of flavorless ice(I didn’t know there was condensed milk below that, which I could have scooped). I enjoyed the flavor and the bit of crunch in the green tea topping that was on the snow, but the dish as a whole was mostly just«ok» for me. Not bad, not the best. Price is… I don’t know. You eat at enough food places and sort of become numb to prices, you know? It’s not bank-breaking, but it certainly isn’t a stellar deal.

the owner is very rude to customers! my friend went there and ordered a shaved ice but didnt know it comes with a bean powder on top. She asked nicely if she can have one made without one, but since she is a young. she was straight out rude and said no. Cannot believe a business owner treats their customers this way!

it was my first time trying korean shaved ice. i was not disappointed. i absolutely loved it. it was not overly sweet and the mangos were ripe. I loved that the condensed milk was layered into the shaved ice. the brick toast was perfectly toasted with the mochi middle. definitely come back here again to try another flavor. :) UPDATE; * after visiting sul & bean in LA, i definitely prefer okbingsul over it. sul & bean service is horrendous. the seating arrangement is a fire hazard in itself. nowhere to walk, let alone sit. the shaved ice is just that, ICE. chunky bits of ice with hard pieces of red bean. the toast is flavorless, even after drenching it with the condense milk mixture 3x.

The first place I want to return to once Lent is over(because I gave up high fructose corn syrup or processed sugars)! My biggest mistake was coming here the week before it started, so all I’ve been thinking about is which one I’m going to try next haha. My brother and I decided to stop in after dinner since our meal was less than satisfactory. We had to end on a better note than the one we were in, so we took the chance to drive up to Fullerton from Westminster for dessert. Since we had an early dinner, we strolled into Okbingsul at around 7pm. The spot was pretty empty, which gave us plenty of time to soak in the menu and weigh out our options. We decided to go with the Oreo shaved ice and a honey butter toast. There were plenty of tables in varying sizes, so you could bring a small party here or enjoy with a small group. The order was ready within 5 – 10 minutes and our table was soon filled with a mound of Oreo and a beautifully decked out toast. Covered in cookie crumbles and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and Oreo as garnish, I couldn’t wait to dig in! As you break through the outer shell, there’s more cookies n cream layered underneath, so you get a mouthful of cookies in each bite. And I can’t forget about the toast. Dusted in toasted soy powder, which gives it a nutty flavor, and drizzled in chocolate and condensed milk, the toast was divine. It had a chewy consistency that was unlike other brick or dessert toasts I’ve had. Upon research, it was like injeolmi toast, where sticky rice cake is toasted between two slices of bread. So noms! I would definitely recommend this spot to friends and I can’t wait to try more of their fruit shaved ice and of course, toast.

Don’t expect much service from here. The workers at the cash register were pretty rude and bitchy lol. It was very uncomfortable when you’re just looking up the menu trying to figure out what they have and you have six eyes staring at you the whole time like they’re looking down on you or something… I feel pressured to choose quickly. That was just unpleasant for me… It made me just want to get out of there asap. BUT because it was a friend hanging out thing, we bought melon shaved ice and drinks. Again, don’t expect much. I love shaved ice but this was weird. The only thing I like about it was the red bean they provided on the side and vanilla ice cream. I forgot what my friend got for the drink but it was bland LOL… Man, I feel so bad for giving this place a one star but the only thing I like was their decoration.

Me and my wife came in today to get her a coffee. All I can say is the owner of this place has ZERO customer service skills. Don’t want to categorize all Korean business owners as this but she fits the mold. My wife orders a milky bean latte and normally it comes with 2 coffee cubes but TODAYFORTHRFIRSTTIME they put only 1. So she asked the worker behind the counter why there was only cube today and he said that they used to put 2 but they now only put one. Last week she was here and they put 2. So he proceeds to ask the owner which she tells him to charge her 50 cents for a second coffee cube. Are you kidding me! These kinds of things should be a courtesy is there is a discrepancy in her me menu. We paid $ 5.00 for a cup of milk and 2 coffee cubes. The owner didn’t even have the courage to come out and tell us herself. She hid in the kitchen like a coward. Definitely never coming back here again.

Korean-style shaved ice. I’ve been eyeballing this place since it opened! I finally got the chance to try it last night. It wasn’t busy on a Friday night, which surprised me. This place is clean, has nice décor and the workers were attentive. I really liked how they had a TV displaying the pictures of the items on the menu. I stood there, staring at the options for a little while before I ordered. I went for the red bean OKbingsul shaved ice(the cup size) and the honey toast. The cup of shaved ice was like… A Starbucks grande(a medium sided cup). The tops were piled on the top(red bean and mochi cubes covered in some powder) and they also made another layer midway down the cup. That was nice. The shaved ice itself is very fine and didn’t taste like anything, I think it was shaved milk. We didn’t get any condensed milk with our cup size but other reviews note that they get some condensed milk with their bowl option(the largest size). The honey toast was basically 2 slices of sweet bread with mochi in the middle… It was toasted to the melt the mochi, topped with chocolate syrup, condensed milk, some tan powder, and vanilla ice cream. This dessert was far sweeter than the shaved ice. I think the shaved ice is a good mild dessert for people with less of a sweet tooth. I’m looking forward to trying their fruit shaved ice next time! They look so pretty!

As the saying goes, «you eat with your eyes first». So even at low 50’s(yes, that’s considered freezing in CA, hahah !) we had to try the shave ice with pretty fruit. Came in on a Friday night around 7pm and only 2 other tables were occupied, as soon as we turn around to sit after we order, people started coming in and before we knew it, the place was packed. When we arrived we took a glance at the display case and decided to try the Melon Okbingsul & the Injeolmi Honey Butter Bread. The Melon Shaved Ice came with a side of sweet red bean. Melon shell with fruit carved out and filled with shaved ice, topped with vanilla ice-cream(?), surrounded my melon balls & a few cubes of cheese cake. YUM !! Some people were drizzling what look to be like condensed milk. Sweet enough without it since red beans were already tasty. Now for the Injeolmi Honey Butter Bread. UMMMMM-UMMMMM !! I’m a anything sticky, chewy & glutinous rice cake fan so this toast was simply delectable. I probably would’ve preferred the toast to be a bit more«crunchy» or «toasted». The ice-cream, whip cream & extra drizzle were all so delicious together. Chewy, cold & sweet! Now I’m curious to taste the savory toasts. Our trays were taken at the counter & there is self serve water available. There’s a long table available for larger groups marked with a «reserved» sign. Clean & bright inside & plenty of strip mall parking.

I’m updating my review. If I could give 0 star, I will! I’m very upset because on Unilocal,it says that the business closes at 10PM. On the door of the store, it says Sunday til 11PM. I arrive at 9.19PM, they said that they’re close. Who in the heck do that? And hour prior to the store closing? Cmon! I come here pretty often since I live nearby, but nope, I’m not coming back. Why can’t you just put the sign CLOSEAT9!

I was excited to try the shaved ice here in OC but was sadly disappointed. This place is korean owned and they had quite a few interesting shaved ice flavors and wanted to try two different ones. About 3 to 4 monitor or tv has a slide how of all the flavors, the melon one specifically had cantalope balls, vanilla ice cream, and ice. The oreo one specifically showed oreo crumbs, ice cream and whipped cream. We ordered both in small. Both were $ 7 each. We both noticed that the oreo one was missing something, it was bland and boring and we noticed that there was no ice cream like the picture did. I kindly asked why is there no ice cream in the oreo and all 3 workers looked at me as if i asked a stupid question and told me that no ice cream goes in the oreo one in the smaller size. I mentioned that the melon small has ice cream so shouldnt the oreo small have ice cream too??? Then they discussed amongst themselves and told me only SOME have same toppings. I just walked away in shock. So you’re telling me that its $ 7 for ice, oreo crumbs and some small amount of whipped cream??? It does NOT make sense at all. SOBS. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Super bland shaved ice and no sense of correspondence.

Came here to grab dessert with the gf and was extremely disappointed. We couldn’t agree on a flavor to share so instead of getting one large we decided to pay MORE to get 2 smaller sizes. now I may be reading a bit into this but it seems that they were very pleasant to the korean folks there but being the only non-korean person(my gf is korean and they were fine to her) there they weren’t the nicest to me, but whatever I don’t care about that. Based on the pictures I decided to order the Oreo ice, looked great with Oreo and a scoop of ice cream on top, my gf got the melon one, we both ordered the smaller size. Upon receiving our orders I noticed that mine didn’t have the scoop of ice cream, so we asked them about it, they told us that the smaller orders don’t come with ice cream. REALLY? that’s quite interesting since my gf got the small order and she got ice cream with hers! once again… coincidence that I didn’t get ice cream and i’m the only non-korean person there? not sure. on top of that, nowhere on the menu does it say that the smaller sizes come with different items than the larger orders, nowhere did it say that the smaller orders do not come with ice cream. NEVER coming back here again and you can bet i’m going to tell as many people as possible about my experience here as well

Yummm! I stopped by after dinner and they were packed. I guess this is the new hang out, esp for Koreans. Since there was only two of us, I ordered the cup size of the red bean shaved ice. The shaved ice is so fine, it melts instantly in your mouth. I really liked the small rice cakes which is similar to mochi. As you make your way down the cup, they add some more red bean and rice cakes half way thru. I wish they added more tho! I wanna come back and try their fruit shaved ice, which loves amazing!
