I made a last– minute appointment, and they were very friendly and took me in right away. They were fast and were able to get my dog cleaned up nicely.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a groomer when I got my first girl, Kali. They had just moved into the neighborhood and since we hadn’t found a groomer for Kali yet, I decided to take her there. The store is very well kept unlike many groomers that have hair flying everywhere!
The store is owned and run by Jay and his wife. At first, I thought Jay was unfriendly, but I think its more about the fact that he’s an introvert. He’s not one to strike up a conversation first, but will always answer all questions to the best of his knowledge whenever asked. You can tell that he and his wife truly care about the pets that come in to their store. They’ve always been knowledgeable whenever I need a second opinion before taking my pets to the vet and such.
When you walk in, you see the most adorable puppies! Since I had just gotten Kali, I promised I’d get one from there a couple years later once Kali was well settled in. Flash forward 6 years, finally made good on that promise and got another precious princess, Sage, from them.
Jay and his wife were accomodating because although I purchased Sage the week before Memorial Day weekend, I asked if I could take her home a week later because I wanted the long weekend to get her adjusted properly and such. Even after the purchase, Jay has always been a text/​call away regarding any questions I had about Sage.
Whenever I take my girls out, people always comment on how cute they look and that they look like puppies (despite Kali now being 8 and Sage almost 2). They always make my babies look adorable (although they’re always precious in my eyes of course XD).
They also have tons of cute accessories, clothing, shampoos, bags, beds, etc. I always feel like I should hide my money from myself whenever I walk in there cause I feel I want to buy one of everything!
If you’re looking for a groomer that cares about their clientele, definitely try them out!

Petian is my go to for my doggie’s grooming needs! This is also where I purchased my puppy. I drive all the way from Palos Verdes because Petian is the only groomer I can find that does a perfect cut every time! I have tried at least 3 other places in the beach areas where I live and they botched Koko’s haircut on multiple occasions. I would not know what to expect when I got him back. At Petian, they care about your loved ones. My dog is never nervous when he comes here like he does going to other places. It’s worth the hour drive knowing my dog is in great hands! Petian rocks!

I was new to the area and found this gem on Unilocal. I called to make an appointment. The owner Jay K. answered. He didn’t sound friendly at all but he was able to groom my dog the next day. This was on Xmas eve. I wanted my dog to look presentable since we would be seeing family and friends so I was grateful he was able to take him the next day. I didn’t get a friendly vibe. That should have been my first clue. When I went to the store, he was there. No hi, smile, nor a greeting. I had to greet him. That should have been my second clue. He didn’t ask for his vaccination records which I thought was weird for a first time customer. I go to pick him up. No thank you, nothing. OK, whatever. Customer skills are not his forte.
Prior to the groomer’s visit, my dog’s ear was fine. The groomer didn’t say a word about his ear when I picked him up. I would have been understanding if he had mentioned it since accidents do happen but the fact that he neglected to mention it is not ethical. I have taken my dog to other groomers in the past. When accidents happen, I’m understanding. For example, when I took him to a PetSmart (Arroyo Crossing location) & Barking Dogs, both in Las Vegas, NV, the ethical, honest groomers told me they accidentally cut his nail too short, apologized, and put some ointment on it which I was fine with. This happened twice where groomers cut my dog’s nail short. It happens frequently.
My husband went with my dog to Petian trying to resolve this matter. Mr. Kang did not accept nor deny the charges. He had told my husband that he would pay for it if it’s not too much or let his insurance company handle it if it’s too much. The groomer also tried to blame it on us saying we brushed his ear too hard which doesn’t make any sense at all. I would not intentionally cause harm to my own dog. We thought everything was fine but shortly after on the same day, Jay called and said he wouldn’t pay for it. WTF!
So, I went to the vet the next day and Petian after the vet showing him the vet’s bill, vet’s progress notes, and my dog. He still denied it and tried to blame me. That’s when I lost my shit. During this time, his wife came out. I didn’t hear what she said. She didn’t make eye contact nor said anything to me which I thought was strange. I’m yelling and cursing at your husband and she acted like nothing happened. Is this a normal occurrence for them? If someone was yelling & cursing at my husband, I would tell them off or defend him. Anyway, I made him call his insurance co to file a claim. I wasn’t about to leave the store until he paid me or filed a claim.
After reading some of the reviews online, he has a habit of blaming his customers. Read his one star reviews if you don’t believe me. I’m not sure why he is even a business owner when he conducts himself in this manner. A business owner would try to rectify any issues that may arise, not place blame on his customers.
So now his insurance co calls me today to let me know they are going to deny my claim because it’s a he said, she said story. That I took over a week to go to the vet and take photos. I said, of course you will take your insured’s story over mine. I’m mad that I didn’t scrutinize my dog after grooming. Apparently, I’m too trusting. If something had happened, wouldn’t the groomer say something? I guess not. He also didn’t trim my dog’s ear hair. Also, this was during the holidays. It’s a very stressful time for me as well as others so I wasn’t as observant as usual.
All this for a claim for $ 183.50. How cheap of both of them. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this amount for nothing. I’m just pissed that the a business owner would not admit his mistakes and blame the customer for a measly amount. I don’t know how he sleeps at night and the adjuster must not be an animal lover either.
I just want to warn other dog owners because I’m sure your dogs mean the world to you and to think twice before taking your fur baby to someone who obviously does not care about animals and blames customers for his mistakes.

I called the phone number Unilocal provided on a Sunday and it went to their voicemail. I did not leave a message but the owner called me back right away and I was able to make an appointment for today. I was skeptical since my puppy didn’t have much hair and his face was such a mess that I wasn’t sure how a full grooming session would make him look. Nevertheless, I took my puppy in since he was in desperate need of some cleaning up around his face area.
The results? My little boy is now a man! Lol. He looks so grown and dapper with his new haircut and smells wonderful. They clipped his nails too which is great since he won’t be able to scratch his little brother when they play together anymore and I am too much of a wimp to cut his nails properly. Should be more like 4.5 stars since the owner wasn’t very warm and nice but I think it’s just his personality and the language barrier probably didn’t help. My boyfriend is pleased with the result (before and after picture below). I know. Such a huge difference. My puppy looks like he was homeless before his grooming despite our great effort to groom him at home ourselves. Will be back again for sure!

Late last month I took my shih tzu mix in for grooming. We had gone here for many months before. Their usual rate for a cut and wash was $ 45. After a few visits, they asked for a $ 20 increase due to knots in the fur. I paid $ 65 twice. So 20 minutes before my dog’s last session, I brushed her thoroughly and cut off all knots. When i came to pick my dog up, the cashier told me that i was going to be charged an extra $ 20 due to all the knots. I said that couldn’t be the case and I explained how I’d prepped the dog before the appointment. So the cashier spoke to the owner and the owner came up to me and said, «Are you saying that I’m lying?» I told him, «No, but I’m not.» The owner told the cashier to charge me the $ 45. I don’t understand why a business would choose to drive away a regular customer who tipped decently. It’s just bad business. I am not returning.

They did a great job. I have nothing bad to say about them. My dog seemed happy! Nice Korean owner made me feel so comfortable~ highly recommended this place. I would love to come again.

My puppy looks adorable and smells cuddly after her first grooming at Petian. Their english is not great but it’s not too much of a problem. My only complaint is they did’t call me to let me know that my pup was done; I don’t know if that would be related to the language barrier. All other groomers I have been to call when your pup is ready. I did ask when I dropped her off when she would be ready, but I don’t expect that to be the exact time. I like to be able to pick up my pup as soon as she’s done. Anyway I called and checked 30 minutes after the stated time and they said she was ready and waiting. Next time I will ask for them to call me or I will call to check sooner. I’d bring her back since they did such a great job.

I took my 4month old pug to get her nail trimmed and ear cleaning. This store is family owned business and they are korean. They could seem to be not friendly but don’t get wrong they are nice people :) My mom also took her iggy for her nail trimmed too. This place will be the grooming shop for my puppy!

I’ve tried numerous groomers but this one is my favorite. My dogs look beautiful, clean, and relaxed like they got pampered at a spa. I have seen my dogs stressed out before with different groomers but with this groomer, they are always so relaxed and happy. Even though it’s a bit of a drive for me, I go to this groomer to keep my dogs happy and beautiful. They also sell very adorable, small malteses and yorkies. Ladies if you are looking for a very small, adorable companion to keep for your lifetime, visit here.

I went in prepared not to like the work they’d done (it was a first experience at a groomers, and we’d been putting it off). The store was really welcoming and well organized, the staff were friendly and, quite frankly, the work they did on grooming our maltese was wonderful. He was badly matted and they still managed to make him look cute. With the heat coming, he will be a lot more comfortable with his hair short. They did a great job, my only qualm was the price, it was $ 45 to get him groomed, which I considered a bit steep. Still, it was a quality job done and I am pleased to have done business there.

We brought our long hair Chihuahua in for his regular pup-​cut. He really needed it. The staff was so nice and you could tell they genuinely live dogs, this was a relief for me as he had much work to be done. They finished on time, when they told me they would. Very affordable and Paco looked adorable and very clean when he came home with me. Will definitely be going back!

We bought our little Maltese from Petian and we are so happy. The owners take such great care of puppies until they go to permanent homes. If you are looking for toy breed dogs this is the place to go. I refer all my friends to Petian.

Used to take my yorkie here all the time but ever since he came back from his last visit he was acting rather strange. He came home very afraid, nervous, and shaky. My dog only acts like this when he gets yelled at or hit. Idk what they did to him but I’m sure as hell not taking him back.

The best groomer in all of the oc area. I dont take my dog anywhere else. My maltese always looks so handsome and cute after his grooming sessions. He smells great for weeks.
It’s also very affordable compared to other places.

This is the only place that leaves my little yorkie looking like a stuffed animal! That’s why I keep coming back. The first time I went they left my baby with razor burn but the next time I let them know about it and the man (I’m assuming the owner?) made a note of it in my dog’s file. It has not happened since thank goodness!
They are not super nice there but not rude either. I think the language barrier could play into that.

AHHH what can I say. I found this place through Unilocal because of all their good reviews. And I have to say. the reviews are right! (the good ones at least) and here is another one to add to their list! I was in search of a lil baby to bring home and forever love. SO one night. I search pet stores and ta– daaah! Petian comes up. Now, before anyone starts saying «its better to adopt» «don’t buy from puppy store» and all that negative stuff. I want you to know, I considered adopting, & when you do not have your own place and are still living at home with parents… its alot harder than it seems and I am going to leave it at that. (look into adopting & you will know what I mean with all the requirements and guidelines). Maybe when I have my own place later on, then I will adopt.
But anyway, I looked on Petian’s website & they only had 6 puppies listed. 5 maltese puppies and one yorkie. Petian only carries teacup & toy size pups. But I read through reviews that Jay (the owner) does not have more than 5 – 6 puppies at a time so that these lil cuties have room for them-​self and are more comfortable also so that they can care for them more. (you can really tell they love their pups by the way they take care of them. when I brought Toby home, right before we left both Jay and his wife? (i think.) gave him lots of hugs and kisses, it was so sweet!) So I browsed his list of available puppies and one caught my eye. He was the last on the list and the oldest as well. I immediately called to make an appointment to meet him. Jay picked up right away and an hour later, I was at his store meeting what could be (& now is) my little baby boy.
The store itself, is very clean, all of the puppies personal area were very clean and well kept. They all looked super adorable and healthy. I wish I could just take them all home! Jay and his son was there to help me and explain any questions I had. They both knew exactly what they were talking about. Toby, my new baby boy, was very playful, sweet and just perfect. Jay showed me all his health records and even showed me his PUREBRED paperwork. To those who says he gets puppies from puppy mills. that is not true. I have the paperwork to prove it. Jay’s friend is the breeder and has all the paperwork to go with each pup. Alot of times you go to places and says the pup you are looking at are purebred but have to proof or paperwork to go with it. Jay has all that ready in hand. He is also very honest about each pups health and visits. He wasn’t hesitant to show me different pup records so I could get a better understanding. Luckily my Toby was healthy and had no problems!
It’s been 3 days since I brought Toby home now and everything is going well. The first night, like Jay warned us. its going to be a little hard because of a new environment. and it was. but after day two. his potty training is on track, he is doing his business outside and he is very easy to take care of! I didn’t think it was going to be that easy! lol
There are also lots of good reviews on Jay’s grooming services. even though Petian is quite a drive for me. I will bring Toby back for his pampering and Toby time. I am so happy with my new baby boy and so is the boyfriend! He is in love with Toby and so am I! Thank you PETIAN & Jay!
