Tommy’s Express Car Wash

DO NOT GO HERE! This place is near my house so went to get a quick wash and hear a loud bang noise when their roller track took the tire. It made a big scratch on my driver rear rim.

Fast and cheap! Most expensive option is only $ 10. Perfect for routine car washes, you just sit in your car and watch the bubbles. I was in and out in under 10 min. It is an automated car wash so the only interior cleaning is done by self service vacuums outside. I will def. be returning on a bi-​monthly basis it was so easy! And my car looks great — no streaks at all on any windows.

I like the $ 5 basic wash, love that it does a very good job, love the super strong suction, dual side, vacuum system! What’s not to love here? You want a higher end wash? They’ve got one! Didn’t bring your Armor All, cloth towel, glass cleaner (for interior)? It’s available for sale :) They even sell air fresheners in multiple scents: D

Although I was in and out so quick compared to the car wash on magnolia and crescent it wasn’t worth it in the end. My car only looks a bit cleaner but all the spots this car wash missed stand out so much. I literally just went 5 minutes ago. Never again.

I’ve always heard horrid things about getting car washes in SoCal. I was worried since we’re still in a drought, that the car wash would use recycled water and that my car would smell funky.
But I took a chance with Tommy’s after reading all the rave reviews and my car was DUUUUURRRTTTYYYY after being shipped cross country. Plus it’s just down the street from my place, so yay!
First impressions — when you pull up, you see the long line up of coin operated vacuums on the side where you can clean the inside of your car after cleaning the outside. I saw people waxing their cars and getting the last bit of water that the huge blow dryers didn’t get. If I had more time, I would’ve taken advantage of the vacuums.
You pull all the way in to the end of vacuum row, into a curved driveway, where there is this little hut with someone inside, ready to take your payment. You have three options — $ 5, $ 8, and $ 10. I forget what all the options are, but I got the $ 8 option as it includes wheel washing that the $ 5 option did not. I don’t like the «spray-​on» clear coat and wax that car washes have because I think they leave ineffective residue on your car. Better to wax the car yourself.
You pay, either cash or card, and the person puts a number on your windshield, and you’re off to Neverland! Someone directs you until your wheels are locked in. You put your car in neutral and let the machine control the car.
You can get a short glimpse from my video, but what I love about Tommy’s is that they still use the big, spinny, wooly/​hairy thingies that clean everything off your car, including the unfortunate droppings from your creature friends. I remember this is how they used to do it «back in the days.» I heard they got rid of these as it can leave scratches in the clear coat, but I believe the ones Tommy’s uses is super soft material… I forget what it’s made out of but some crazy, animal hide material.
It’s pretty quick — almost too quick, but the results are pretty good. It got all the nastiness of my car except for couple of spots that had really baked on dirt, the kind of stuff that you could’ve missed even if you washed it by hand.
Some people complain about the drying time and that it doesn’t get your car completely dry, but in my opinion, Tommy’s was better than the others ones where you control the speed of how quickly you move across the blowers. Because everything is automatic, it moves more smoothly through the air then I could myself, getting a lot of the water off. Definitely could use a good towelling up afterwards, but I just drove off the lot and it was fine.
Will definitely come back! Honestly… better than having a dirty car or spending couple of hours washing the car yourself. Nobody got time for that!

Car wash is very good and so are the vacuums.
My only complaint is they are very bad about opening on time. I’ve gone by six times at 8 AM and only one time they were open and ready for business. If this happened to me once then I would not be complaining. Sometimes things happen and people are late… it happens to everyone. 1 for 6 means your not even trying. This is disrespectful of people’s time.

Both times i have gone here i purchased thier top car wash and both timea my car was left scratched and wet. Last time coming here

Did a pretty great job considering how dirty my truck was. I usually don’t like drive thru car washes because they never do a good enough job, but I was actually impressed with how my truck came out. I agree with the other reviews, the drying time was not sufficient so yes, bring a microfiber and finish the job if you are particular about this. I was already on the road so I wasn’t prepared but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I will definitely be returning. The vacuum stations were not packed when I went and they are quite powerful!
One thing I was NOT IMPRESSED with was the «tire shine» my tires actually came out looking dull and older than before I went in. Oh well, that’s not why I would go there. Would bring my own extras, since it’s only $ 10, I think is worth the convenience and the extra powerful vacuum probably does a better job than your average goals vacuum.

I took my car here today, Saturday AM. It was somewhat busy, not bad. Got a vacuum space right away. I got the $ 10 wash because my car was really dirty!
It was really fast and my car looks so nice and clean. It’s awesome you can use two vacuums at once, so take a helper to vacuum one side while you do the other side of the car.
I will be coming back as soon as my car needs a wash. Don’t forget to put your car on neutral!

They have three washes to choose from: $ 5, $ 8, and $ 10. What I did like was the fact they have a booth where a person is ready to assist, makes the process a lot smoother than a machine. I got the $ 8 wash and was satisfied; the only flaw I encountered was the dry time. My car wasn’t nearly dry and it pushed me out. Unfortunately I didn’t have any towels or cloth, so now I have streaks on the car. I didn’t utilize the vacuum, but did see many parking spaces for them.
Definitely bring a towel.

I noticed this place about a month ago and was pretty skeptical but our truck hadn’t been washed in a couple months– drizzle, wind, leaves– the truck was pretty dirty. Bought the $ 10 wash because we probably won’t wash the truck for another couple months. It was pretty packed mid-​day in Saturday so we skipped the vacuum, plus there were no stalls because everyone was towel drying their cars.
I was pretty impressed with the results and decided to head back to wash my car in the evening before they closed. Drove right up to vacuum stall then right into the car wash.
The vacuums are petty powerful, I hope they maintain them because I can see how they will quickly wear down. Also the wash is pretty decent, I hope they maintain the car wash equipment. The «towel» flappers and «brushes» are new and clean so the results are a very good wash.

I love this car wash because it is only $ 5 and the machines clean my car really well. I like to go there during the off-​hours of the day because there’s no wait.
This is not a hand wash but it’s of those high-​quality automated car washes that you go through. Make sure to put your car in NEUTRAL once you are directed into the wash. The car in front of me put their car in reverse and they jacked up the whole machine. They had to stop the machine because of that foo, lol.
Afterwards, you can use their powerful vacuums to clean the inside of your car. There are at least 10 spots and vacuums for both sides of the car.
This place is much better in quality than the gas station car wash and much cheaper than a hand wash but your car will come out clean!!!

My car has desperately needed a car wash and I just haven’t had the time to wait 35 – 40 mins at my regular car wash place for a wash and vacuum.
I came here for my first time and was surprised at how nice and modern it is!
The wash gets the job done. Even for the simple $ 5. And I just vacuumed it myself after.
There’s two vacuums on each side you can use so you don’t have to drag it across your car.
I love how there are people to help when you go to pay before getting in the wash.
I was going into the wash and got confused and the gentlemen came and helped after noticing I was confused lol and the cashier today was super sweet.

I would give them 0 stars if I could, it was all nice n liked that they have a lot of spaces to vacuum and dry until the day their machine wouldn’t let go of my tire and scratched my rim, totally would of had understood if policies and whatever but they also have to be responsible their business and as well as their machines. When this happened the guy didn’t have owners number and I’m sure if he does (which he does) he wouldn’t give it alway, left my info and was nice about it and never received not even a phone call to apologize for scratching my rim, NEVER AGAIN will I go there and now I am scared to go to any car was that had those kind of machines, I’ll rather spend a little more time and sweat and do it my self! NEVER AGAIN! As a business owner, HORRIBLE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS KIND OF INCIDENTS!!!

This is the first express car wash I’ve ever used and it’s turned out to be a good one. This place is pretty new and opened up close to my work. I can come on my lunch and get my car clean within 30 minutes.
They have three options to choose from $ 5, $ 8 or $ 10 wash. I haven’t really noticed what the two cheaper ones have because I always pay for $ 10 which gets you the full wash and waxes, tire shine and vacuum use. You pull up to window and pay for your wash. The cashier will then write the dollar amount on your window. You pull forward to the entrance of the wash and there is another man directing you to pull up, helping you line your tire in the conveyor and reminding you to put your car in neutral. Once your in just sit back and enjoy the car wash show. At the end of the wash you get tire shine and strong blowers blowing away at the water. There is a light that will let ya know when to put your car in drive. You then pull around and pick your spot to park and finish the wash. The parking spots are wide and roomy.
My car is pretty dry and the wash really removes a lot of the dirt. I bring my towels and go around drying it pretty fast. They have a vacuum hose on each side of the car to use. Now the vacuums are so strong that it lifts the placemats up but I take mine out and vacuum them on the floor and put them back in. They also make a whistling sound when you swipe it a certain way. They play music loudly thru speakers to keep you entertained. Just make sure to bring your towels and cleaning sprays because they don’t have an option to buy any there.

I really like this car wash!
The guys that greet you are always friendly. It surprised me the first time when he wrote on my car window with that car chalk thing to tell the operator which car wash I’m getting ($ 5, $ 8, or $ 10).
My favorite thing about this place is the mirror that they put above your car so that you can see your wheel align with the conveyor belt. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone too far to the left or to the right at other car washes and my rim takes the brunt of it.
I also love the blue lights that light up as you drive through the car wash. In addition, there’s mirrors on both sides of your car so you can see your car getting cleaned.
Lastly, I like that there’s soooo many vacuums. AND, they have vacuums on each side of your car! Other car washes usually have one large hose that you have to maneuver through your car, which gets really annoying.

I had to try out the brand new car wash near work! There are so many pros to this place. It’s at a great location. Easy to get in and out.
Pulling up there’s a guy there to take your payment of which wash you want. There’s a $ 5, $ 8, and $ 10. I went with the $ 10 because that one comes with a tire coating at the end for some shine shine. They accept card but I had cash on me so I am not sure if they charge a fee to use plastic.
Once I pulled in there was a guy who pointed up to show me there was a mirror to watch so I can see my tires to line it up to put in neutrul. Right away I liked that because it’s hard to get into a little space when you cannot see! Once inside the water and soaps were very powerful. I could also watch my car thru the mirrors on the side. I enjoyed going thru there.
After I pulled up to the vacuums which are free. This was my complaint. The vacuums were just way too strong. They would pick up my mats and made it extremely difficult to vacuum my carpets since it just stuck to one spot I could not move it around. I kind of just gave up.
Other $ 5 car washes I have been to also have given me an air freshner or towel, but they didn’t give anything. The air freshner gives that lasting touch, so I hope they get them soon!

I was waiting for this car wash to open so I can give it a try. The size of it is massive, but welcoming. This is not comparable to your dreary drive thru car wash you find in gas stations. The car comes it clean the first time and even the rims are completely clean.
Your pull out and pull up to the vacuum stations an within 10 mins you’re at of there. I will be back with my girlfriends car

Watched this place being built, and finally it’s open, yay!

You ride thru the wash process and at the very end they have mirrors and you can see your car all clean and fresh, very cool!!!
The process was fun and fast…
