Decker’s has been completely revitalized since the fire. It looks very nice and the food was good. I don’t think of it as a romantic restaurant but more family friendly. We went there for Father’s Day. The food was mostly good. The service could have been a little better but it was not totally off. They did switch the channel to the Astro’s game after asking 3 times. It is very noisey but kid friendly. I would eat there again.

On Fathers Day I ordered a Filet the highest priced item on their menu. I ordered the steak medium and it was rare. I haven’t never sent a steak back but could not eat that one. They brought me a new steak and it was more rare then the first. The waiter even said he didn’t know what the issue was. I then said I’ll eat my sides. They gave me a free desert and did not charge for the steak. The waiter was a good guy and we left him a tip based on full Bill. We did that since his manager would not come over like any good manager would. I guess she had better things to do like firing the cook. This was our second time here and we won’t be back. Actually if I owned the place I would also fire the manager.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is so country! Service is always good and the owner is so nice! The parking is also convenient and has never been a problem. Stop by here for a date or just lunch! You will not be disappointed:)

What has happened to this place?!? While the food has always been on the expensive side, it used to be worth it! Really is a shame.

I am excited at the prospect of Anthony’s new restaurant opening in Simonton. That’s the best, most positive comment I can make here, as this restaurant still carries his last name. It’s never been the same since he left.

We went for our second time. I ordered a Hamburger medium. It came out more than well done. The out side of the meat was burnt so bad it was crunchy. Meat was dry like leather. Way over priced. You can get a much better Hamburger other places for much less. We sat out side and the ugly were so bad it was hard to keep them off your food. The owner has dome nothing to help keep them away. We won’t be back

This is literally out in the middle of nowhere it seems like… but a local joint for Fulshear… thank goodness we only live 15 min away from here otherwise I’d say it was really a waste of a drive. Not sure what the vibe is off the place, it’s kind of between really casual to sort of fine dining but I would say it’s more casual. We all got here at 7, the restaurant was full but we got a table immediately. Waitress came and took our orders pretty promptly. The table ordered the spinach artichoke dip and the shrimp and avocado cocktail. Our friends seemed to enjoy the spinach dip. The shrimp avocado cocktail was good, not the best, but good. I really like their tortilla chips. Seemed like it was sprinkled with some sugar dust and maybe cinnamon? So sitting around and conversating… realized it’s been at least 45 min… where is our food??? We had to ask our waitress and another food runner where our food was. I ordered the Dekker burger, husband ordered the CFS and others ordered a pork chop and grilled salmon. My burger looked so sad. Here I’m thinking a big fat ½ lb juicy burger… and I open it up to see this small little patty. Seriously? I’m given a fat bun the size of a half pound burger and all I get is a measly burnt, dry patty. The bun didn’t even look appetizing. It was pale like it had come out of a package and only put on the grill for a few sec. I substituted for some sweet potato fries which they got wrong… but they sent out a batch of them for me a few min later. Honestly I think the greasiness of the sweet potato fries or something gave me indigestion the whole night. I never experienced such a thing anywhere. I tried my husband’s chicken fried steak… yeah the portion is huge… I mean granted it’s $ 17 so I guess it should be. Nothing to write home about. It was a bit salty to me as well. Other people didn’t complain so much about their dishes. I also had a Mojito… it was alright. I wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t work out in my favor. If I do come here again, I will know what not to order.

This is the second time we dined at Dekker’s. Nice place in the middle of nowhere. Even though it seemed quite busy we were seated right away. Our server was super nice and made sure we were taken care of at all times. I had the Pork Ribeye with cream sauce, rice and the fried asparagus. It was all very good. My husband had the pasta with seafood. He thought it was pricy for what he got. I do think it is somewhat overpriced, but we will go back as it is a halfway point to meet friends. I would give it a 3.75, but that is not an option.

Can someone help me understand the hype here? Because it reminds me of cafeteria food from Seaworld; overpriced and subpar. You know, the kind of food you eat to get you through the day. My parents are locals and wanted to give it a try after hearing her coworkers drive from highway 6 to Fulshear just to eat here. Our party of 4 arrived early at 11:15 for Sunday brunch, expecting this place to crowd very fast. It did never did. We asked the waiter to seat us further back and when we got there, to the far left of the room, an iced tea machine was flooding the entire kitchen floor because someone had forgotten to turn it off. He rushed away to take care of that, and another waiter came. This average waiter was probably the only thing this establishment had going for them. For our appetizers, we got half a Ceasar salad($ 5) and calamari. Calamari was probably one of the worsts I’ve had. The fried breadcrumbs started falling off while still on the fork, and was unmistakeably soggy. The salad was very small, and if I could choose between this and McDonald’s southwest salad, I’d enthusiastically choose the latter. My mother got the salmon($ 19), which while was average, was incredibly overpricedf and left a lot to be desired. I can get this same dish(more refined and tasty, of course) in uptown Dallas for the same price. My father’s Dekker Burger was($ 9 – 10) was probably the best bang for the buck. He, however, did ask for it to be cooked medium and received it well done. Also, neither the mustard or ketchup would come out of their glass bottle containers, which agitated him a little. My sister and I shared a «Seafood Platter»($ 21). When it came to the table, it looked EXACTLY like the calamari dish. We were kindly served a single small piece of soggy fried fish that tastes like… oh right, nothing, a few pieces of similarly tasteless shrimp, and a stuffed crab that was fought amongst ourselves to NOT be the ones to eat it.

Slow service & over priced food. This unique restaurant has too much going on with local city growth to focus on anything. We had slow service, gnats flying around our table, dirty floors, and subpar bathrooms. Not many other choices around here, that’s the only reason why people come here.

Had a terrible experience last Saturday. Had a over cooked piece of salmon, no big deal. However after we sent back the second one for the same reason we simply asked the to speak to the manager. After never seeing him come by to speak to us we finished our wine and were heading out. Well he was standing talking to the hostess. We introduced our selfs and asked why he wouldn’t come speak to us about our meal? He said he was too busy to talk to customers but he said he was told about the fish being sent back and felt we were to picky that he even went in the back and eat the fish for his dinner and it was«perfect». He went in to say how he doesn’t have to talk to everyone who has an issue with their food. Basically he was to busy eating the fish we sent back to speak to his customers. Management of Dekkers is a mess. Needless to say we will never go back. I won’t support places that don’t care about their customers.

Great restaurant, live entertainment and friendly staff! I’ve eaten here twice now and really enjoyed the experience. The west side of Houston has always been short of good restaurants so when we get them the are coveted. I strongly recommend you eat on the patio. Even on a chilly night the staff can port a heater to make this warm enough and sitting outside lets you smell the woodsmoke and listen to the live band. Inside is a lot louder and more formal feeling. The food is not superb but it is good. The kitchen tries hard and their specials are always their best items. The presentation is classy and they do a good job with serving 6 or 8 tops. The bar has a well stock selection of craft beers, bourbons and wines. They even have my favorite bourbon, Bulleit. They take reservations and you should use that feature if you have a party of 4 or more. Otherwise you will be in for a +45 minute wait.

Let me out of here. Wait person ok… manager should be punched. Complained that the order was wrong. Manager did not care. If I had not been 82, I’d force fed the jerk the hamburger I did not order. Salad looked like it was put together five days ago. Four people… $ 133.00. NEVERAGAIN! .

Every local raves about Dekkers so we decided to check it out. Terrible service. Hopefully that waiter is no longer employed there. Food came out undercooked. Asked for medium well on a burger and got a blood soaked bun. Asked if they could please redo the burger. They basically threw it in a microwave because they brought it back(15 minutes later) same burger in the same soggy bun, and didn’t think that was a problem. Wine ordered came out warmer than room temperature, when asked if they had any chilled, waiter gave a snide comment. Asked for a manager and they were also very unfriendly and unapologetic. For as much hype as this place has, it certainly didn’t live up to it. Won’t be returning.

We went on Saturday when it was beautiful weather and sat outside. The outside has lots of seating(both uncovered and covered) and a sand pit for the kids. The food is pretty good. We liked the burgers. Two things were not acceptable during our meal– 1. The service was horrendous. Had to ask 5 times for our beers. Had to ask another 3 times for place settings. They never brought my son’s drink the entire meal. The waitress did not listen nor regularly coming around. The entire waitstaff seemed confused, bringing us food we didn’t order and continuously making excuses why we didn’t have our drinks after sitting there for 30 minutes. 2. BECAREFUL on the Roasted Mesquite Chicken Salad. About halfway through the salad, I notice that some chicken doesn’t look fully cooked. Upon further examination, the chicken was PINK. I had to send it back. I couldn’t believe my eyes. All in all, nice atmosphere but the service is severely lacking. I am disappointed that they can’t cook a chicken completely either as I loved that salad. Not sure if we will return.

Great food and a lot of it! Friday night brings two guys, one with a guitar and one with a fiddle. Music is just the right level to hear everyone at the table. The chicken fried steak was awesome. About 7″ and way to much to eat. Smashed potatoes were cooked perfectly and I substituted the green beans for a house salad. Perfect for families of all ages.

Were from Las Vegas and we know good dining. Dekker’s grill is a throwback to the old days of family atmosphere big noisy busy restaurant vibe. The trouble with those places is their always fun but the food is always average or bad. Dekker’s actually has really good food. We had Salmon with Scallops, Lamb Shank, fried calamari, bacon wrapped filet mignon, and tuna ahi poki for appetizer. I mean where can you get all that and they were triple AAA quality just spectacular this restaurant could easily be transplanted in NY or Vegas. Our waiter was Scotty and he was on point he remembered our order without writing it down. Dave the manager came over and welcomed us and recommend an awesome bottle of win we hadn’t tried. By the way great beer and wine selection! 5 stars all the way Coke to Dekker’s and fall in love with the atmosphere and food and people.

No longer a 4 star restaurant, this place has changed. The fried onion strings and jalapeños were very greasy. We could not finish them because the bottom of the plate was filled with grease. We ordered 3 yeast rolls($ 1.75) and they were delicious. Served with au jus. I ordered the bacon wrapped fillet prepared medium. It arrived very close to well done. You cannot un-cook a steak and we didn’t have time for me to send it back. It had good flavor, but would have been better if cooked the way I ordered it. Sides here always seem fresh. The green beans and the asparagus were both very good. You can still get a good meal here, but the quality has dropped a notch(but the prices haven’t). The patio here is still amazing, and live music, cold drinks, fantastic service, and a great atmosphere means this place will still be packed. Hopefully this was just a fluke.

Giving this 4 stars, could have been 5. I Must say, the food was absolutely, amazingly delicious. The BBQ chicken flatbread, chips and salsa. Yummy! Our entrees were perfect and so good. Best food we have had in a long time. Best chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and pork chops in the area, hands down! Our waiter was awesome. He was really good and professional and he was very nice and pleasant. The only issue, the hostess that seated up was rude. She kinda through our appetizer plates and napkins down in the table. Made lots of noise putting the plates down.
