This place has turned me into a B&B fan. The owners were friendly but not intrusive, and willing to help however they could. I’m not a big dog person, but I really enjoyed their little dog Logan who couldn’t be more friendly while still not licking or jumping on you. We stayed in the Garden Room. While the fact that it is in the basement might turn off some people, I thing the positives outweigh the negative. By being in the basement, you’ve got 2 floors between you and the other guests plus your own private entrance… so it felt more private than the other rooms. I liked that I didn’t have to worry about having the TV too loud when we were watching a movie at night. The room was the only one with 2 comfy chairs(recliners) facing the TV. Plus it had a king size bed, gas fireplace, small table and the biggest bathroom in the place. I was temped to use the whirlpool tub, but didn’t. The shower was nice though. Much nicer than the shower from the hotel the night before in KC. They have a lot of movies to watch from your room, though they tended to lean toward romance and movies more than a few years old. Breakfast on Sunday was served at 9. It was good but on the light side. Our first course of a cheese soufflé(muffin size) with 3 sausage links(not my favorite) and the 2nd course was fresh fruit with whipped topping and a drizzle of chocolate(yum). Hearty eaters might leave a little hungry. The coffee was good. They had this fancy machine that made individual cups of coffee or tea with a number of flavor choices. They had a machine in the dining room and in every room. Oh…and the location is good. You can easily walk to downtown, even in winter, and to the Churchill Museum. If you are looking to get out of town from St. Louis or KC for a night, I would definitely recommend the Loganberry Inn. They do gift certificates… perfect for a romantic gift. Hint hint.
