Best ribeye and environment, other than making us pay for rolls now. Very good music and selection of drinks if that’s what interests you. Def a good spot to check out. Service is very good. The money is worth it for a great steak and other choices.

Restaurant was a little fancy or it tries to be. Main menu consisted of steak and they also had some pasta options. Ordered the rib eye and filet Mignon. It was pretty good. And the sizes were huge. You could probably share a plate if you’re a light eater. Ordered the artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was pretty good too. Went during a weekday so no wait.

Best lunch in town. Best cook in town. Best steak. The service is perfect. The atmosphere is fitting for any occasion.

Food was excellent and service was outatanding. Only four stars due to ambience. Looks like a decorative disaster.

Romantic atmosphere, low lighting, garden murals… If one was looking for a place to do date night in Gadsden, courtyard is probably as good as it gets.
I do not like surprises.
The food here is good. True. My filet was nicely seasoned and appropriately cooked (medium, like a good steak should be). The loaded potato was loaded & though I disagree with fruit in my dinner roll I will admit that the strawberry butter is tasty.
My dining experience was perfectly fine right up until the end when my bill arrived. When I pointed out that my steak was served with a salad, so there shouldn’t be an additional charge for a salad, the waitress informed me (for the first time) that they upcharge for Caesar salads.
That’s not even the part that made me upset… She dollars that up with «i thought you knew, so i didn’t say anything about it.»
How, Sway?!
How was i, a random diner, supposed to come into that knowledge which is not listed on the menu?
And then, she started rambling about people getting offended when she mentions the upcharge, like she’s assuming they can’t afford it. She apologized for the omission and said she’d take off the charge.
Plot twist: When she brought my change, lo and behold she had still charged me the full ticket. There are no words for the blankitude of the stare she received from me.
Unfortunately, I don’t have occasion to visit this establishment often enough to learn the hidden secrets of the menu. If I return, I will be asking All the questions. Because I enjoyed the food, but not the unexpected addition to the bill.

I really like this place. Lunches are great and at a reasonable price. Dinner items consist of steaks, fillets and seafood. I ordered the jumbo shrimp which came with a salad, rolls, and a side. They did not disappoint. I sat at the bar and had a cosmo. It was not the best but it wasn’t bad. Service was excellent.

Had lunch here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. All the food was fresh, hot, and tasted home-​cooked. I particularly liked the chicken and dumplings, a comfort food I don’t often have opportunity to enjoy. The lunch special was an excellent deal with entrée, three veggies, and even a small dessert: I’ve forgotten the price now, but definitely less than $ 10.00. I’m anxious to try them again at dinner.

Amazing! Went for lunch while on a work trip and found this little gem downtown Gasdsen. There was a line out the door. For $ 8.18 I got fried chicken, cream corn, green beans, a cornbread muffin, mashex potatoes, green tomatoes and sweet potato pie. Everything was very good except for the pie. Great customer service and great prices.

I honestly can’t believe it’s taken me this long to post a review of, by far, my favorite restaurant in… well…anywhere! I tell everyone I talk to, looking for a good place to eat, especially for a date night, to come here and order the Fillet! I am not a steak lover normally, but my fiancé (who I consider to be pretty much an expert on the art of judging a good steak) has got me hooked! This steak is amazing! So much flavor and the tenderness is like no other I’ve ever had. I have not had anything at this restaurant I didn’t not find above the average, and we’ve eaten here probably no less than 10 tens over the past several years. We have to travel almost 45 minutes, otherwise, I would come way more often! Greatest place around!

Best lunch in Gadsden. Bring your appetite. You will not be disappointed. My meatloaf, fried potatoes, fried green tomatoes and lima beans last Tuesday were fantastic. Plus I was in and out in 25 minutes.

5 Stars Restaurant; the service is excellent and Fast!!! Dinks are served preety fast too and the bartender gave us a VIP service!!! Fantastico…

I would love to give you a very elaborate review for Courtyard. The fact is, I can’t. It’s been a couple of years since I dined here. I can tell you this… I still to this day think about the steak I had.
In all honesty, I don’t ever remember having a steak cooked as perfectly or with as much flavor. In addition, this downtown area is too cool. Not being from Gadsden, it’s a refreshing experience every time I get to check out this area.
I remember nothing bad… and a whole lotta good.

I think they actually make a significant portion of their food (as opposed to heating up bags of food service garbage). Their cornbread was very good. But, the vegetable soup had ground beef in it. I was not expecting that. (Not vegetarian, not light, but did seem homemade.) The chicken salad didn’t have that Publix deli aftertaste, yay. Was very busy at 11 am on a Friday but I didn’t have to wait long. I would say it’s a pretty good lunch spot considering the limited options in this small town.

Not long ago, the Courtyard Café was THE place to go in North Alabama for steak, and it still is. However, over the past year, their DINNER prices have continued to increase. What used to be a restaurant that had a waiting list for seating is now a place with more empty tables than filled ones. If the management continues down this path, they will most likely price themselves out of business. A shame, considering how busy and popular they used to be.

Great place for lunch. Meat and four veggies plus dessert.

the café is actually attached to the cultural arts center.
75% of the menu is steak in some form. perhaps i was baiting the server when i asked for a recommendation. she said the steaks were real good.
she wasn’t wrong. good cut of meat, nicely marinated. served with a handful of salad-​in-​a-​bag, a few yeast rolls, and a conservative portion of garlic linguine.

Great place to go for a great Rib-​eye Steak. They have a special way they prepare them. The atmosphere is great. They have probably the busiest lunch times consistently every week. the plates are great as well as the deserts. I wouldn’t mind going there anytime.
