Deerfield Inn & Suites

No. No. No. No. Do not, I repeat do not stay here. My family goes to Talladega every year for the nascar races and this used to be our stop because it’s about 45 from the track. Well after this year (it being my third time at this hotel and my families 9^th) we will not ever be returning. We arrived at the hotel to find out the credit card machine was broke, so we had to pay in all cash for our room– fine we can deal with that. Then the gentleman walked us to a room billowed with smoke as soon as he opened the door. We asked, «is this a non smoking room?» He replied they all are non smoking. We tried to manage because we had been so faithful to this place we thought okay sir, we’ll try to stick this out. We get into the room and it has stains on the sheets and cigarette stains on the tub. When we requested more towels because he provided 2 small towels for the four of us, he brought us towels with CIGARETTE burns/​holes in them. I just kept telling myself just go to sleep. I can do this. As I took the comforter of the bed and was just about to lay down I smelled for cigarettes. I look down and the whole side of the bedside table was covered in ash.
At this point if it wasn’t talladega on race weekend we would have walked out. The place has been a little more run down every year but this time it was it last time.
I travel often and don’t expect much but I will not stand for a filthy room. It’s gross and unsanitary– sorry it comes with being a nurse.
