Went here for lunch and loved it. The place is very quaint and full of board games and cute mini cookies and brownies for your sugary needs. The waitress was soft spoken and very sweet and I loved my sandwich. Would highly recommend this place to all locals and out of towners. Will definitely be returning :)

They gave me food poisoning. Nice coffee, nice staff. But I felt like I was dying afterwards so. Idk it’s probably not a common thing for them to make their patrons sick, but it was painful enough that I’m not gonna be able to go back(and not have brunch food for the foreseeable future). I really don’t want to get violently ill because of an expensive brunch, come on. Also the food is okayish, although not for the high cost, and expect a substantial wait for your table.

Terrible restaurant. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally made it over. The service was bad. I think our order was forgotten because it took 1 hour to receive french toast and a poached egg dish. The French toast was thin, cold, bland and mushy, the English muffin under the poached egg was hard as a rock and inedible. The overall experience was incredibly disappointing. It was overpriced for being served food of that quality. I do not recommend going here.

Really liked our first meal here — I had breakfast blue plate special, he had tofu huevos rancheros, which he said were amazing. He was still talking about them hours later. Very nice space, good service, good coffee, good food, happy sweetie — that’s 5 stars! GO. EAT.

Its been awhile since I’ve been to East End eatery just out of not being able to make time but out of all the places that I go I can say this is one place that has never changed I got the same great customer service I always get and the wait was not long at all not to mention food was fresh I will recommend this place to everyone.

INCREDIBLE! The environment, people, staff, games, coffee and food! Everything was on point. From the moment you walk in you get greeted by the coolest and awesome staff. There are really nice and friendly. The place is super clean and you can play a board games while you wait. As a vegan the options where incredible. Really healthy and low in salt. GOODGOODGOOD. Definitely found my place!

I loveeee this spot! Came in on my 21st birthday after recently moving to Gainesville. It was weird for me– first time away from home & my family drove up from Miami to be with me on my day. I came here because of all the reviews & pictures of eggs Benedict(my fav) & this cozy little spot did not disappoint! I am definitely going back ASAP for another eggs benny & a side of French toast, which is literally the best I’ve had, ever. It’s made on French bread & is absolutely delicious. The décor of the place is cute & has a home feel to it. Very inviting! Loved this spot so much. Definitely give it a try if you’re considering a good breakfast spot.

I found this place through Unilocal, where it was rated one of the best brunch/breakfast places in Gainesville. It was definitely different than the competitors. They have board games, a kiddy play area & the most beautiful patio. The only reason I gave it a 4⁄5 is because I wish their menu was a little more lengthy.

I came in a group of 4 and was told the wait would not be long, however, 2 groups of people were sat before us even though they arrived after us. I inquired about it to the staff and they acted as if they had been preparing our table already but I saw them run off to find people to set up our table after I asked. They sat us immediately thereafter and we’re pretty attentive to us throughout the rest of our dining experience but I’m just a stickler for bad food service. I ordered one of their specials which was the Fiesta Benedict which consisted of chorizo sausage, guacamole, English muffin, etc. The egg Benedict wasn’t runny at all, I didn’t even notice there was guacamole on my English muffin, and there was some mystery sauce all over my Benedict which I think was supposed to be salsa but tasted more like spaghetti sauce. However, it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great. I was told that they were famous for their cheese grits so I tried my friend’s, but once again, it wasn’t bad, just not great. If anything, order their potatoes if you have the option of ordering a side. The ambiance of the place was unique, it had a lot of board games for children and is definitely family friendly. It reminded me of a small farmhouse or a little BNB. The waiting area was just a little awkward because it has a small table and only a few seats in the middle of the restaurant so my friends and I ended up standing while we waited to be seated. Also, they have a very small parking area out front so it’s a bit of a challenge. You have to park on the side in the grass if there is no more parking available. Overall, the breakfast/brunch place was average in my opinion, I probably wouldn’t go back.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in east Gainesville just off Waldo Rd. The breakfast was delicious, and they even had items that accommodated my daughter’s dairy and egg allergies and were vegan. The service was attentive and courteous. The atmosphere is friendly and homey and cheerful at the same time. My breakfast burrito was superb, and the Gouda grits are to-die-for! We will be back!

Healthy food, small portions, only take cash for payment. A bit of hassle in modern times if one forgets to go to the ATM before hand. Food, so, so.

Stopped by for a quick to-go breakfast thinking I could get in and out within 15 minutes. Wrong. They took our order and were really happy to take our money but when it came to getting our food, we had to sit there and wait for 45 minutes to get TWO breakfast burritos. Plus, at $ 9 a piece, I was expecting way more. Obviously, I got irritated and showed a little annoyance towards whoever took our order, and all he did was give us attitude back and say that there is a 20-person table outside. First of all, we are a to-go order so that should already be at the top of the list. Why else would we order to-go? Second, we only ordered breakfast burritos that probably take less than 5 minutes to make, if even. Cool décor inside but with a staff like that, they need to learn how to prioritize and manage their time.

Ladies and gentlemen, brunch in the stylings of Aerosmith’s «Rag Doll:» Hoggetowne, served up where it’s sunny. Poached eggs, yolks a little runny. Hollandaise… tomatoes, crispy bacon(Yes, the real kind) Dem grits, seemed a little hokey Came with gouda, sure enough was smokey It’s a hearty breakfast for, like, ten bucks.(Give or take a few) There are board games for the good boys. Mmm, but not just for the good boys. They’ll get you hot sauce if you ask ‘em. And with a smile, so don’t harrass ‘em. The parking lot is real wee. Good luck with that S-yoooooou-V. Eggs over izzy, French toast maple drizzy, Just make sure you bring cash ‘cuz they don’t take credit crizzies! (I’m actually laughing at myself, so it’s best I stop now.)

I decided to try this place based off Unilocal reviews and the pictures of smoked Gouda grits. It was kinda in a sketchy part of town. They are a CASHONLY business which I didn’t like in the age of The Square and what not… luckily I had my check book on me otherwise I would have had to walk to the convenient store next door to use the ATM(Where I just witnessed a heated argument in the parking lot). The décor inside was super cute kinda cluttered in an organized way. The waitress was very nice and the setting was quiet. I did like what I ordered but I wasn’t blown away. I didn’t really taste the gouda in the grits but this may be my fault… I might be coming down with a sinus thing. I think I’ll give these guys another chance and edit my review after. They did have a cute little play area for the kids I know my daughter would love. :)

Brunch is the meal of champions. Having a dessert-like breakfast and a burger on the same table is magical and has resulted in my brunch adventures being numerous and diverse. East End Eatery is a solid representation of quintessential brunch staples with a cozy, charming atmosphere in a humble area of town. The Space Located just west of Waldo Rd on E. 6th, EEE is right off of the road and pretty plain Jane from the exterior. Parking is limited but this is the type of joint where pulling onto the grass is perfectly fine. Walking in the air is immediately lifted from Podunk Town, USA to a clean and vibrant southern hospitality that you’ll instantly vibe with if you’ve a mind for brunchy goodness. Wicker baskets hang from the ceiling, a little waiting nook sits with magazines and menus to pass the time during a wait, and they even have a wall o board games to round out that«our home is your home» attitude. The Service Because of the location and style of food I pretty much only find myself here on a whim in the AM. My most recent trip was during the work week so they weren’t busy but prior to this I distinctly recall wait times being really long(as well as needing to park a fair bit further than at the place next door). It can be kinda odd to get your name on the list when they’re packed also. That said even with the down tempo visit I just had the service was casual, which doesn’t appeal to someone who dropped $ on a coffee. They were pleasant when interacting so no dings for«bad» service but, for real, having to wave you down to grab the bill just reminds me that I never got refills and THEN I start to get sour. The Food They don’t have competition near by so that makes them stand out in the area by a lot, but even when comparing them to solid eateries in the area they old a strong position on my «best of» list. Catering to vegans and vegetarians, rotating tasty specials, and a solid iced coffee keep me pretty content from the start. When I last went I had: — Cinnamon Raisin French Toast(B+): about 6 small pieces that left me satisfied without being stuffed. They’re thin too which is appealing compared to mega-sense cake-like French toasts. — Smoked Gouda Grits(B): Simply and the cheese is a nice touch, but clumpy and uneven in temperature Final Thoughts: I like ‘em and won’t hesitate to go back on my way to or from the airport/area. That said, I live closer to better places that cost just about the same and are not«cash only» like this spot is. Great for the area, good in general, and pleasant for a simple, comfy Sunday morning.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and the décor was very cute. There were paintings on the walls, which made me like this place more because it seemed like they had an appreciation for art. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it tasted amazing! Our server was very nice and polite. This is a cash only joint. At the time we did not have cash on us, but went next door to grab cash from the ATM, which was not a big deal. Overall, great food and atmosphere. Strong recommendation!

My boyfriend & I stopped in town for a few days to visit family, and happened upon this place through Unilocal. When you first drive up, it looks very quaint and homestyle, which is totally my style. When you walk in its a very simple but sweet décor, small staff, but extremely pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted, and although there was plenty of seating in the main area, he took us to a more secluded spot without us even asking! It was a wonderful mini breakfast date. My boyfriend ordered the special Strawberry French toast with poached eggs and bacon, and loved every bite. I ordered the Florentine Benedict with Potatoes, and was very pleased.(It’s a smidge garlic heavy, so if that’s not your thing then maybe request light garlic!). Coffee was great, décor was relaxing, overall a great experience!

Word of warning: the restaurant is cash only. I can respect that. My mom owns a deli and has to shop around every year to make sure the banks aren’t charging her an arm and a leg for every swipe. As a small business, she wishes she didn’t have to but, to each his own. I have heard a lot about East End and was excited about going. I didn’t realize that their weekday breakfast would be different from their weekend brunches but, I knew with the power of the Internet, I could have anticipated that. I ordered the blueberry waffle with poached eggs and bacon. The eggs were a tad overcooked to my taste and the bacon was unevenly cooked. I’m not picky but I do love crispy bacon. My friend enjoyed his veggie omelet but loved my blueberry waffle even more. When a waffle is done well with fresh fruit, it’s pretty evident. East End does a fine job, but then again, can a waffle be anything but great or gross? My expectations were higher for sure. I was hoping for an ambitious menu with daring choices. I’m a big supporter of local businesses, so if you’re ever craving for a good ol’ breakfast, East End is not a bad choice.
