I love this place! The food is beyond amazing. You have to try the pickle chips, they are crispy and not soggy which is all you can want with a friend food. The smashed potatoes are also so delicious! The atmosphere is as close to New Orleans as you can get in Florida. The staff is friendly also!

We have eaten at Harry’s in St. Augustine several times so we knew what to expect. We were not disappointed. Great Cajun food in Gainesville. We sat outside and watched the downtown traffic while we ate. Great service and wonderful food.

First class lunch, we had voodoo shrimp and jambalaya both were superb. My wife and I have been in and out of New Orleans for more than fifty years and Harry’s does an excellent job of offering a taste of the«Crescent City» here in Gainesville. Our server was«Vee» she was friendly, knowledgable and the ultimate professional. Great food and a great service. congrats to the owner, chef and staff, together you provide a first class dining experience.

We were at Harry’s last week for a group dinner. We had the private room and there were about 40 of us altogether. Each person ordered separately– I got the shrimp scampi, my husband ordered the shrimp and grits, and we shared the fried Oreos. Everything was so delicious! The shrimp and grits was my favorite– so creamy and delicious. We all finished our plates entirely, and they were sizable portions. The service was kind of lacking though– maybe because there were so many of us, but there should have been a more organized system to take orders.

I guess we picked wrong but the food was not good. Mussels at some kind of sweet tomato sauce cant work together. Came with some bread soaked in oil(they said its butter but didnt taste likenin butter. Then some fried fish and shirmp. Fish sagy watery. Prob frozen. Well not much to say. If starters are not good, dont know how can be good main meal.

The bread and butter they give you to start is so yummy. I’ve gotten the shrimp and scallop Orleans every time and is always delicious! They have a very limited beer menu but the atmosphere is nice and great place to sit outside when the weather is nice.

Me and my significant other are from California and drop by here after attending our very first Gator game. We decided to give this place a try in hopes of having some raw oysters. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing. Our waitress Chloeh was very outgoing and attentive. The happy hour well drinks were actually strong. Their shrimp lafayette was very tasty and full of flavor. Overall had a great experience, I’m just bummed they didn’t have raw oysters.

I went with my family to Harry’s for lunch after the game. We had a seat right away, with a friendly host opening the door for us. Our waiter AJ gave us excellent suggestions and was one of the best waiters I’ve had in a while! He was very attentive and pointed us in the right direction. We have never been there, nor do I live in Gainesville, but I am happy to know I have a reliable place I can come. 5 starts all around :)

Was taken here for my birthday this year and it was an INCREDIBLE dining experience. All of the drinks were delicious first of all. Nothing bad or of concern to say. The service was great and the food was amazingly delicious. From start to finish, this restaurant delivers in every aspect.

Had dinner in the past and the food was good. On Saturday Night 10÷24÷15 we went to Harry’s as a party of four(4). We were sat promptly and our waiter was attentive, drinks and an appetizer came quickly. That is where any semblance of a nice night out ended. After an hour several drinks and being told our food was on its way, we still have not eaten. We requested a manager and she apologized telling us the kitchen was backed up. The manager and other waiters tried to console is with stories of a large party that was so fed up that they walked out on their check, before the food ever showed up. I guess they though we carried about other tables! The manager explained the issue and promised to take care of us. After almost 2 hours hour food came out. Two(2) of the four(4) dishes where cold, we sent them back leaving half our party uncomfortably eating as the other half tried not to explode. All in all the food was only fair and the wait absurd. And the check showed up without one(1) confession. Not even a free drink! It was tap beer! Sorry to say we will it be returning to Harry’s…

When my friends and I ate here we had a very knowledgeable waiter who was able to give us some pretty good recommendations and honest input on the dishes which I really appreciated. The corn grits are amazing as a side and I had the bacon jam burger even though it is a seafood/NOLA joint. The jam was just too tempting and did not disappoint. The jambalaya was a bit disappointing tbh and lacked spiciness and a kick to it. Besides that though, I enjoyed the classy ambiance and the great service.

Tasty seafood right here. After visiting several times, I must write this review. Harry’s is in downtown area of Gainesville and may require a few trips around the block to find a parking place. They have both indoor and patio seating. While they don’t have the Clam & Corn Chowder soup every day, this is one of the reasons I go there. The chowder is creamy, well flavored, and ultimately delicious. My other reason, of course, is the cast iron skillet scallops in white cheese. This dish offers ~ 10 large scallops in a cheese sauce and has been cooked perfectly each time. Before knowing about these dishes, I had tried the tacos and fried fish platter, but they do not compare. The complimentary bread with garlic butter is also tasty.

Walked in and was seated right away for dinner time. Friendly staff and good food. Service was a little slower than I would have preferred but overall tasty. We ordered the Chicken Baton Rouge with side of green beans and Pasta Chicken Louisiana with side of beans and rice. Pasta Chicken Louisiana was much tastier and chicken much more moist than the Chicken Baton Rouge. Greens beans were far better than the rice and beans. I’d definitely return to try other selections on their menu.

What a great meal from start to finish! Start off with refreshing cocktails then we had mussels and ahi Tuna! Wonderful bread and rounded out with trout and the shrimp/scallops and grits for our entrée! We had a wonderful bottle of Pinot with our meal to finish it off! Wonderful yummy must eat here!

Okay, this is my second visit in three years. I had the Harry’s special chicken which is grilled chicken topped with sautéed onions mushrooms and melted cheese which sounded like it might be better than what I got the last time which was awful. Unfortunately, while the chicken was cooked find the cheese was not melted to the chicken and it was kind of like a cold lump that was made earlier and put on top of it as a decoration. The other people on my party seemed to enjoy the meals they got. I guess I had a different expectation for this place and it just does not meet my expectation for the price that I pay. My chicken with a side of red beans and rice was $ 15.99. I think that’s kind of high considering it’s just chicken and the topping was really awful, oh I think I already said that but it’s true. I would rather go any other place then to Harrys been in downtown Gainesville.

Second time going to a Harry’s but the first time in G’ville. Our first experience wasn’t the best but this time was much better. The service at this location was really good, we had a huge party and our drink were never empty. The waiter also allowed us to try the sauces of the different dishes that they had. I had the Pasta Chicken Louisianne, which was a decision made from tasting the different sauces. Also get the chicken fried because the breading is really good. The bread basket before the actual food was really, really good and their garlic butter only made it better. I am glad I was able to give Harry’s a second chance.
