This is no place special but the happy hour prices and nightly specials are good and the food is more than edible… some of it is actually good.

It’s my favorite place for wings! Great flavors and no overload on breading. I’ve been there twice for Monday wing nights, and I’ve gotten great service for the rush they have to deal with.

I go to Mother’s regularly and love the heck out of it. For a sports bar type place, the kitchen is rock solid, and the service has never sucked. The food specials are amazing, and there’s a decent variety of nightly menu features. I’ll even vouch for the breakfast. The hubby and I brought our friends from out of town here before a noon home game, and everyone was impressed with the waffle taco boats and bloody mary’s.
We consider Mother’s our ‘watering hole’, and make a point of walking here to get our weekend started as often as we can. The bartenders always recognize us and treat us like royalty. Not to be mean, but the only negative is that the bathrooms are a half-​assed frankensteined home depot project that reeks to the high heavens.

I went on a Monday with friends for the .40 cents boneless wings and my experience could only be described with one word: disappointment.
We all ordered boneless chicken wings and the waiter took our order and then came back about 35 minutes later to let us know that they had no more boneless wings. Are you kidding me? It took you that long to find that *little* detail out?
We then ordered normal wings, because we were hungry, but we honestly wanted to leave. We also ordered tacos.
It took about 20 more minutes to get the new wings, and there wasn’t even an apology for the wait.
At the end, once we were done with the wings, the waiter asked if we needed anything else. Yeah, how about the tacos that you forgot to bring? He obviously forgot to put the order for the tacos and at that point we didn’t even want them.
We paid and left.
It was my first time there, but I had a horrible experience and I’m reluctant to come back.

We were in town for Fest and stopped here for lunch around 2:30pm. The four of us got a table right away (we were told to sit wherever) but it was just being bused. After they removed the food dishes/​glasses we were told they’d be back to clean it off, but never showed up.
A server Jordon ‘skillfully’ ignored our eye contact for a good 10 minutes while walking past us, and finally came around to ask for drink orders. She didn’t once offer to wipe the table you could clearly see had stuff all over it. When she came back with the waters we had to ask to have it wiped, and you could hear the contempt in her voice that we wanted to eat at a clean table. It took another 7 minutes for that to even happen and even though we asked nicely, said please and thank you many times, she was just rude and cold to us.
When we ordered food, she didn’t know about the menu and when she was asked if the chicken sandwich came with fries she said «I think.» That’s all, no asking someone that was better than her to confirm or anything. A buffalo chicken sandwich came with teriyaki sauce incorrectly. She asked if two people wanted cheese on their sandwiches when the menu said it comes with it. She took a refill drink order from two of us and then ran off without asking the other two people. She brought non-​sweetened tea and said it was sweet tea. We had to ask for silverware and napkins while our food sat on our table.
When we got the bill, she suddenly thanked us and was back VERY fast to take our money. The nachos were fine but I wouldn’t go back to that treatment when there are many other restaurants full of friendly people in Gainesville.

Poorly trained staff. Awful service. We waited for an hour and a half for food, ended up getting it to go because it took so long. Food was just ok. They were not that busy and there was no reason for the wait. Will never be back. Terrible.

I stopped in here to watch a NFL game on a Sunday. I read the reviews saying they have NFL Sunday ticket, and some good specials on game day food and beer. Sold! When you walk in for a game they have the match ups under each screen. Pick where you want to sit and enjoy. The servers are friendly and attentive. I had some of the fried pickles/​peppers which were as expected. Tasty, but greasy. It does get loud, but part of the fun on a Sunday. Various fans rooting for their teams, cheap beer and decent food made for a fun experience.

I have heard many positive things about this place in regards to their prices on food and for their casual and vibe ambiance but I was disappointed by their customer service. For me, customer service is a huge selling point whenever I visit a restaurant and it can make and break a lot of things for me. It took 40 minutes for my food to come out after my friend and I placed our order. I don’t think it should take that long for an order of fried cheese balls and fries.
But I digress, I went on a Friday and tried their popular cheese dish (I can’t remember the exact name but they’re popular for it) and did enjoy the dish. It was not the best fried cheese I’ve ever tasted (very similar to fried mozzarella sticks except in ball form) but it was not bad. I also tried one of their shandies and was actually disappointed in the one I sampled. However, I haven’t been able to find a good shandy here in Gainesville yet.
The restaurant has a very hipster and causal feel and decoration, and parking in the back can be a little tricky if there are no more spots left. However, this restaurant didn’t disappoint but it also didn’t impress.

I come here only for the incredibly cheap food. The $ 3 burger deal on Wednesdays and Fridays is well worth it. Also, their 40 cent wings on Mondays are noms.
However, the service is terrible. I took my friend here for the first time the other day and he asked the waitress about their cheese selection for his burger. She wouldn’t even name them to him or show him where they were on the menu. Instead, I had to tell him some options I remembered, and she had the audacity to say, «Come on buddy, I’ve got other people waiting.» Not sure how someone expects to get tipped with that attitude. The place wasn’t even that busy, but I guess she was having an off day. The lady that works as a bartender and also a waitress has been the best with service.
Atmosphere is just okay.

Fun little dive bar right by the campus. Shepard’s pie with Lamb was amazing! Bartender was friendly and bar was packed with people watching the premier league matches. Cool atmosphere.

Horrible service. Horrible food. People here couldn’t care less about anything. Avoid. There’s a billion other places in Gainesville and i dont know why i ended up here

I’ve never walked into this bar without a warm welcome and a cold beer in seconds. Mothers is tried and true! Nick, Cassie, Clara, Jack, and the rest of the gang are great people who will not disappoint! This bar is one of the best in Gainesville for many reasons but most of all for their loyalty through the years. Great job guys!

Best wings in all of Gainesville. They have great specials and awesome customer service. Every flavor so far has been simply delicious. Monday’s are the best time to get wings it’s their special of the day

Tried to discuss this issue with the manager/​owner when I was there, and again today when I called. Was told on both occasions that they were ‘currently unavailable’. I love (d) this place, but was severely let down when I took an out of town family member here yesterday. Had to flag down our waitress for an update on our order. Then again for napkins. Then again for our food. Then again for refills. Then again for our check. Then again for take out boxes. Then again for our check again. Then again for… our change. I guess she just thought she’d earned our change as her tip. Which I did tip, but good golly it was the least deserved tip I’ve ever given. Sheesh, we’d even cleaned up our own leftover mess hoping that someone, anyone, would get a hint. Food was good. Beer was good. But again, I’m not saying I’ll never go back, but I’ll never take an out of towner there again and tell them its an awesome spot.
Keep in mind this was a Wednesday during the summer. This place was mostly empty. I don’t care if servers are dead eyed and hate themselves and the world. I just want my damn change.

This place has a decent selection of beers, but the service left something to be desired and the food was terrible. There were five other people there besides myself and it still took the bartender close to 10 mins to serve me. I ordered their Coney Island burger. This thing was a hot mess. To their credit they used fresh avocado and jalapeño, but they accompanied this with crappy nacho cheese product instead of actual cheese. All this paired with a total of 10 tater tots. I didn’t realize these were in such high demand that they need to be rationed. All this capped off by the bartender basically rushing me out. 2 stars for beer selection, made to order food and they were at least polite when they were rushing me out.

3 dollar tempeh burgers on Wednesday before 11pm. 3 dollar tempeh burgers fridays before 5pm. I come here for cheap beer, cheap tempeh burgers, and to shout SPORTS at a screen with friends. For all those things it excels. If they had headphones that would block out the conversations I overhear while enjoying my cheap eats and beer, they’d get 5 stars. But until then, I’ll just have to pretend like I didn’t just hear some college kid say that you can’t be friends with a girl unless you’re gay or she’s ugly.
I drink killians, eat the tempeh burger and fries, and remember that I’m closer to UF than downtown. Ultimately, mother’s doesn’t disappoint.

It’s a sports bar! I enjoyed the loaded tator tots and wings. The place is lively and the waitress was super nice and on point. What else do you need? :)

great Irish pub with pretty good bar food the specials pretty much every night are are great deal and the beer selection is pretty hard to beat.
This is hands down the best place to catch a rugby match or a soccer game.
There Facebook has specials and some game schedules.

No. Music was too loud and was really crappy music (techno at 5 PM?). The bar was mostly filled with screeching 20-​somethings.
Food was overpriced and not tasty (the sweet potato fries were marginal at best).
Service was horrible in that the waiters were rude AND slow. Our bucket of beer was THROWN down on our table and our food was served with no silverware. We had to ask to be given silverware twice– and by the time we got it the food was cold.
Looking at other reviews this seems to be a trend and the only people who like this bar are the local college undergrads who haven’t figured out what a good bar is yet and just want dollar beers.
We will not be back.

I was told by a friend that this spot was really good and she certainly did not lead me wrong! I had the shepherds pie and the sweet potato fries, both were amazing!
