One bartender didn’t know what an IPA was, and another poured me a Guinness that was 100% foam. Guinness is a draught and is mixed with nitrogen, which gives it a much thicker, easier-formed head. You can’t just spew this stuff into a plastic cup and call that a pour; it takes time and finesse. It’s bar-tending 101. It’s only saving grace is that it shares space with Relish, which I happen to like a lot. I’ll never go back.

Only drawbacks are the beer selection and the size; everything else is excellent. This is a good place to come when other bars in midtown are just too crowded. Although it is small, I have rarely seen the place crowded. The bartender is also quite nice and has a good memory for what you were drinking. Drink specials are hit and miss although they do have some very good ones some nights(1.00 Coors, $ 2.00 Killians, Ladies Night). Just wish they had some more beers on draft. It’s clean, pretty chill, and a good place to play a game of quarters with friends.

The Beer Pit offers above average beer selection and very reasonable specials. While some of the other bars in the area seem to have an overcrowding problem, Beer Pit suffers from the opposite. Seemingly every time I’ve been there, it’s been a ghost town. I do enjoy playing Wii Sports while I’m there, though.

This place is the size a decent bedroom. It has 20 beers on tap and the service is super friendly. Prices are good. It has a jukebox and 6HD LCDs with tons of sports. Great for game weekends.
