Unsure as to why the Unilocal staff decided to combine both locations(especially since they don’t share the same name), but this particular review is for the used furniture store on NE16th Ave, not its warehouse on NE27th. Both are owned by Lizzette Lupi. This location opened in the latter part of 2014. There is over 4,200 sq feet of used furniture & household goods, as well as used home décor & clothing. At times they even have a few new items in stock.(I was told they buy much of their stock at auctions & buy out storage units«down south.») This store is located one block east of Wash King, between it and Sandwich Inn. Cash and debit(3% fee) are accepted. The sign outside lists its operating hours as 10 — 6 Monday thru Saturday, but at times the hours have differed, so I suggest calling ahead. This«hole in the wall» establishment is a hidden gem! If you don’t mind some dust, lots of Spanish(although Ms. Lupi & staff are bilingual), & narrow walkways surrounded by thousands of pieces(in all types of condition), this place is a must. My two-piece black leather couch and loveseat(in near mint condition) cost me under $ 300. Shipping was $ 30. My furniture arrived the same day after the store closed– delivered by two professional men using a pickup truck. This family business accepts items on consignment; you set the price.(Depending on size/situation, they’ll get them from your home.) If you find something in the store that you like(but don’t get paid until Friday), ask about putting it «On Hold.» If an item you like is already on hold for someone else, leave your name & number.(It’s how I got my set.) Gator Unclaimed advertises on Facebook( ; you won’t find it advertised on sites that require a fee. There is a nice write up on it & Luzzette Lupi in the Gainesville Sun archives.
