I tried the food here a few times and I’m not a huge fan. Unfortunately the rice was undercooked and the noodles were flavorless. I attempted to order over the phone and items were forgotten each time. I’d get an apology but never a refund or an attempt to bring the rest of my order. Very frustrating.

Came here on babysitting duty with my two kids and my neighbor’s two kids. 4 total children all around three years old. Sounds like an ominous review in the making… huh? Nope not at all… Not with this babysitter on watch and the awesome staff at Hunan Garden. Having three little kids might be a nightmare any other day of the week for any dining establishment but with the help from the staff and the yummy food, everything went fine! We ordered the shrimp fried rice, chicken low mein, general tso’s chicken, and orange beef. Everything came out hot and tasty! The owner’s even gave us some chicken on a stick that the kid’s liked as well. The kids did make a little mess, but compared to other outings, this was a good outing.(Would you expect anything less)? The food was great! Thank you Hunan Garden for helping me babysit and the kids loved it as well!

First time trying this place. They messed up my order twice. The salmon also on top of the sushi was warm… don’t recommend this place.

I always order sushi from here and it has okay. I stopped and when I started up again the delvery asked me why I stopped. I loved that personal connection. But then it all changed. My last time and let me say MYLASTTIME I ordered they rang my door bell 2 times. Then when I answered he asked for a tip. I said I didn’t leave one because that is why I was charged the $ 2.00 from . He said no. And told me to call right away. I did but told them to give him $ 1.00! I called and said tipping is not required. That is why the $ 2.00 is on there!!! Sorry but YOUDON’T BEG for tips. And act like you are going to keep my food. You guys messed up because I get sushi at least 3 times a month!

I’m really shocked by all of the negative reviews for this place! My husband and I order from here a lot and always have a great experience! We have ordered sushi, chinese, and thai food from here and it’s all fantastic. They have messed up my order once, but out of all of the times we’ve eaten here, I can look past that one time. Plus the one time it was messed up, we called them and they brought us a new meal super fast. The food is always hot and the staff is very friendly. We will continue to order from here!

Fried rice was over salted, crispy beef was more batter than meat and sauce was below average. Soup was good and affordably priced. Chinese crisps that come with soup was also below average. Tasted stale. Delivery took the maximum length they advertise on Eat2450min. Will try one more time before I write off this restaurant.

It’s your average run of the mill Chinese restaurant. Nothing really jumped out for me, although the drink prices were decent. My son liked the two TV’s. The service was a bit slow and they forgot our Wonton Soup. If you need a quick Chinese fix, go for it, otherwise look to Asian Garden.

I’m glad another reviewer mentioned the owner’s behavior because it was APALLING. My mother and I were in the dining room and we could hear him screaming and carrying on in the kitchen and it was incredibly uncomfortable. The food was inedible as well… I’ve tasted seawater with less salt. Just go to Asian Garden. I know they don’t deliver but I wouldn’t want hunan garden delivered to my house anyway

This is the best sweet and sour chicken around, hands down. The key– it doesn’t have a ton of the breading with only a tiny nugget of chicken! Rather, it has light breading!!! Good fried rice too. Thats all I need!

We went to Hunan Garden on ¼/2015 in the early evening. Cute place. It was pretty empty, but someone(owner?) was having a LOUD conversation on the phone. So loud that we had to lean into each other to hear each other across the booth. Very annoying. We ordered egg drop soup and steamed dumplings to start, and I have to say that the dumpling sauce was the best we have ever had(a little spicy tingle, and just terrific). Nice meaty tender dumplings, and the egg drop soup was good, too. We should have stopped there. My dinner mate ordered chicken and vegetables with a white sauce, and I ordered Mu Shu vegetables. The Mu Shu vegetables dish was so salty that it was inedible. Seriously, the saltiest thing I have ever tried to eat. I mentioned that it was too salty, and that I could not eat it, and said that we would like the bill. I did not ask them to remake it, nor did I ask for it to be removed from the bill. I so wish I had said nothing and just left after the appetizers(which were great). I repeated over and over to the server that I did not want another dish prepared, and I was not asking to have the price of it removed from the bill even. We just wanted to pay our bill and leave. They insisted on making it again, and did so over my protests and pleas. Both the man and women there(owners?) then went back into the kitchen, and there was REALLYLOUD shouting. I felt terrible. I felt like that was my fault for complaining about the food, and both my dinner mate and I were so uncomfortable and near tears at this point. The second version of Mu Shu vegetables that was brought out WAS less salty, but we did not stay around to finish the meal(my dinner mate had finished eating long before). I felt obligated to taste it the re-prepared dish, as the server was standing there. I did not eat it, though, as my stomach was hugely upset at this point from the salt and the whole event. They did remove it from the bill and brought me a take out box. I did not take it with me, as I did not want it and I just wanted to leave(as I had been stating all along). I do not plan to go back. I would give them another shot and the benefit of the doubt(the oversalted food was not a deal breaker and they did try to make it right), but the server(owner?) did not listen to us at all about what we wanted, and the whole fight in the kitchen thing was just horrible and soooo uncomfortable to sit through.

Just ate here for the first time. Pleasant start with a fully loaded miso soup, huge portion, very tasty. I have to say they have some of the best spicy tuna rolls I’ve had in a long time. Also ordered shrimp tempura rolls, not bad, not my favorite. They put the seaweed on the outside which I’ve never had prepared that way before. Again, not bad, just different. Will probably come back because they are so close to my house and they are better than Osaka.(And cheaper)

Best Chinese in Bristow. We moved from Centreville a few years ago, tried all the Chinese places in Bristow and were pretty disappointed. We would even pick up charlie changes Chinese when we were in centreville. This place is not quite Charlie Changes, but if you live in Bristow you should definitely give it a shot.

As was written on another review, I was also glad to see a Chinese restaurant open in our neighborhood. We ordered our usual delivery order: Sesame Chicken, General’s Chicken, Chinese Donuts, and Chicken-Fried Rice. The bill was a bit more expensive than other Chinese restaurants in the area, but not by much. I was told it would take 30 minutes for the food to be delivered, which is about what everyone tells you. A mere 14 minutes after I placed the order, our food arrived! Wow! They are right down the street, but that was fast! Everything was piping hot and fresh. The seasoning on the chicken was a bit sweeter than we’re used to, but the food was delicious. Our only critique is that the General’s Chicken could be spicier.

I have to say I was quite happy to see a Chinese restaurant pop up in our neighborhood, but when I went to eat there for the first time, I realized, «Asian Fusion» is a much better description. The sushi is hands down the best in the area. The rice is fresh. So many restaurants don’t seem to understand that mushy rice ruins even the freshest cut of fish. My husband loves the Chinese menu. He’s tried the lemon chicken, sesame chicken and orange chicken and loved them all. Next up — the Thai portion of the menu!

So if I had to guess, the review from James S. was written by the owner of this place, or an employee. Moving on — I ordered delivery and the food got here quick and was hot. Good so far. First: Avocado Roll I absolutely love avocado rolls, and I order them at any place I see that has them on the menu. This is a chinese place that is offering thai and japanese dishes too. In my experience, these places tend to be bland in their sushi — and the rule holds true. I only ate 3 of the 6 pieces because it was just not good. Avocado tasted old, and it all had a strange citrusy taste. I gave the other 3 pieces to my dog. He gave 5 stars. Second: Kung Pao Tofu Kung Pao is my measurement tool for the quality of a chinese place’s food. Either they make their own kung pao sauce and pack it with the protein of choice(tofu for me) OR they use the SAME kung pao mix of watery sauce and completely low quality filler vegetables with a few pieces of protein. Third: Brown Rice Charged an extra $ 1.50 for brown rice, not unreasonable around here. And hey, this was actually not too bad. Only, I had to use the soy sauce in my refrigerator(+ sriracha!) because they included the standard low quality Yi-Pin«Soy Sauce»(hint, Yi-Pin is sodium and corn syrup, no soy whatsoever!) Hunan Garden is the latter. The kung pao had about a dozen small pieces of tofu and the rest of the container was canned/frozen/rewarmed cubes of carrots, celery and other junk filler veggies. The sauce was watery, had no flavor, let alone spiciness that you expect with kung pao. I picked out the tofu, which wasn’t too bad(cooked well, just prepared in a bad dish) and gave the rest to my dog. For me, 2 stars for speedy delivery, hot food. For my dog, 5 stars and he sincerely hopes I order from here again soon. Unfortunately for him, this will be my last order from here unless I hear they made some changes. Such a shame considering I’m literally a block away. Summary: Typical low-quality chinese joint that overcharges and pinches penny on ingredients. Food is probably mass prepared/ordered and quickly heated in the kitchen. Bland flavors and all the signs of a business that is trying to maximize profit(by offering dishes they have no idea how to make correctly) and have no pride in their craft. EDIT: Went back to check my dog’s bowl — he actually took the avocado rolls out of his bowl and didn’t eat them. That’s the quality of food you’re getting folks.

We ordered the Triple Delight and Chicken Lo Mein, both were very flavorful! Portion sizes were perfect for two people to enjoy with some leftover. It only took 30 minutes for delivery.

We ordered lunch last week. It was for carryout… Took maybe 10 mins for General Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Boneless Ribs(all lunch meals with egg roll and fried rice). Everything was delicious and good size portions. General Chicken was not spicy, at all. Other than that, I will definitely be trying them again.

Poor and slow service. We had to ask for menus after waiting for ten minutes. Even then only 1 menu was slung, yes slung for 5 people. Dishes were brought out at random times. Hubby’s main meal before appetizers. Friend’s dish still not brought out after an hour! Food is nasty. Friend’s dish made him ill. My standard dish of sweet and sour pork was served as sweet and sour chicken and NO veggies. No peppers. No onions. No pineapple. Just a huge plate of chicken. I took home my leftovers. You should have seen the congealed sauce the next day. It was nearly all fat. Just disgusting. Threw the food in the trash. Thankful I didn’t get sick. We won’t be returning. Edited to add they were more concerned with the phone orders than the in restaurant customers. Many others were walking out due to slow service. It is totally unacceptable for it to take an hour to get your food.
