Ordered fried dumplings & fried rice. Definitely the worst dumpling I ever ate. The dough for dumpling was so think that all you could taste was dough & super oily! Fried rice was under cooked with no flavor/taste at all! NEVERAGAIN!

Best Chinese food I have ever gotten! I’ve ordered it like a dozen times and it’s always been consistent and yummy!

I am utterly surprised that I have yet to review this place! It sounds really strange, but when I go to Gainesville, this is one of the places that I MUSTSTOPBY. I love the food there, and sure you might look at it and think to yourself, wow this is some pretty generic Americanized Chinese food, but I still think it is amazing. You have to get the dumplings. They are fresh, made to order, and handmade, they put dumplings at other restaurants to shame, and it comes with that I like to call crack sauce. It is very thick dough wrapped around juicy pork. Definitely something that everyone should try! Best generic Americanized Chinese food you’ll find.

Ridiculous is all I can call this pathetic Chinese place, my friend is allergic to Broccoli and request no broccoli and was rudely told NO. Never have I been to a place that you can’t request something to not be in your meal, I asked to speak to a manager and was once again rudely told NO, this pathetic place won’t be around for long at this rate

Ordered the dumplings and wonton soup. I threw both dishes away right after one bite of each. Don’t waste your money. So gross!

OMG I couldn’t image my life without their Homestyle Tofu! And YES I have spent THOUSANDS on it over the years. worth every penny! Hands-down the BEST Chinese in Gainesville, bar none, especially for vegetarians like me! I have travelled far and wide, and have not yet come across a better recipe for crispy delicious homestyle Tofu like they make here. Its incredible, and yes I am going there today to eat after I finish my review! LOVELOVELOVE it!!!

This is the best Chinese food we have ever had. My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times and have never once been disappointed in a single dish. Delivery is always super fast! We’ve enjoyed both meat based dishes and vegetarian dishes and love them all. Their Lo mein is amazing!!!

We ordered to go and waited in the restaurant for the food. They were friendly and fast! Got home and I was impressed with the shear amount of food… we had leftovers… I had the bourbon chicken with fried rice and an eggroll. Excellent!!! My husband had no complaints about his sweet and sour chicken. We had ordered crab rangoons and fries dumplings to try them… My husband loved the crab rangoons but we both LOVED the dumplings. They were the best I’ve had anywhere. And usually you get 8 small dumplings for the same price… but these were BIG dumplings and they were awesome!!! I hope to go back to try some of their other dishes. The dinner combo plates are about 7.50 and you can’t beat that for what you get! Highly recommended!!!

Classic american chinese food. Dumplings are awesome. Fast delivery service. Low cost and high quality. No nonsense place that spends its money in the right place-the food. The Pork and scallions are great. The shrimp fried rice is not the best. Overall, a great place to pick-up or have delivered.

Reasonably priced with large quantities. Best general Tsos chicken Ive ever tasted. You might have to do another 3 hours at the gym for eating it, but totally delicious.

I got food poisoning after eating vegetable fried rice and egg drop soup from Wok N Roll this week. If I had to guess I think they probably cook all of their rice(veggie, chicken, shrimp) on the same grill. The food has always been unimpressive, but now I definitely won’t be back.

Geez with 6 six check-ins and Dukedom, it’s about time I write a review for this place. Since I’ve been living in Gainesville(i.e. away from good Chinese food), I’ve developed a bit of a broccoli beef addiction. And I know plenty of people that say beef broccoli, but the Chinese way is broccoli beef, so I’m gonna keep saying it that way. Anyways, the broccoli beef is all I ever order from there, and it’s the best I’ve ever had. Fortunately, I’ve gone with other people and so I can say I’ve tried other things they have there. Their special tofu dish looks good and my friends ordered it but I didn’t get around to trying it. I’ve also had some of the chicken dishes but none worth mentioning. I did try their dumplings once and heed my advice: it’s absolutely nothing like what the picture shows. They give you this picture of some nice potstickers, but in actuality, you are presented with a round lump shaped dumpling. The actual taste of it was fishy, and by that I mean it tasted like fish to me. It was just weird overall. Now whenever I walk in here and see more or less the same people, it’s hard to keep a straight face because they’re probably thinking, «Dis guy again.» — And yes I can be racist because I’m also Chinese, that’s how it works right? I’m wondering how long until I can just march up to the counter and be like«Yeah, I’ll have the usual»

Never ordering here again. They called to tell me that i had to pay 2 dollars more in order for them to deliver. Chomp Menus and their online menu says the minimum total to deliver is 11 dollars. My total was over 20 dollars and they needed me to buy something worth two dollars to deliver. Funny how 2 dollars will cost Wok n Roll not only me as a customer but all the people I know as potential customers. I recommend bento’s!

In my first 2 years of undergrad, after every exam, I would come here and get Chicken Teriyaki and White Rice. Why? Well, I’m Asian. And because they had some damn good Chicken on a Stick. I love meat. And I enjoy things on sticks. Naturally, this relationship was gonna work out. Wok N Roll has that typical Americanized Chinese Takeout name with the food to match. They’re located in the corner sandwiched between an Asian grocer and Gumby’s Pizza. The place is real small and primarily a Chinese takeout place. The food comes out quick and is pretty cheap. The normal order for me was that Chicken Teriyaki and Small White Rice. Cost me about $ 5 and was surprisingly filling. The meat was always so good. The seasoning they used was very simple but effective. They have pretty good lunch specials here as well. But their other food isn’t as great as other places around. The honey chicken and general tso’s chicken is very underwhelming. The chicken wings are good, but there are better places to get them. The rice tends to be quite oily(but it’s like that at every other Chinese Takeout venue, so I don’t hold it against ‘em). Overall, it’s good if you’re passing by and feel like getting some quick Chinese takeout to go.

I WILLNOTEVERRETURNTOTHISCHINESETAKE-OUTRESTAURANT! It has not always been this way though. I used to be a regular because they are one of the few places that deliver in Gainesville. One night at about 8 o’clock I ordered my usual sesame chicken with lo mein noodles and crab rangoon. When they delivered everything was fine and I was expecting it to taste good as it always does. However, I opened up my rangoon sauce for the crab rangoon and their was a huge wad of spit in my sauce. I know how to cook and their was no way it was oil it was spit. So my car was in the shop and I had no way to go to the restaurant. Then I called up Wok N Roll and told them and the guy said«what is spit?» I said«the moisture in your mouth» He says, «My mouth is not wet.» So I said«may I please speak to the manager?» And can you believe what he says next? «The manager doesn’t speak any English?» I am not close-minded or a racist, but how can you own and open a restaurant and not speak English? Needless to say, I will not be returning but they brought my money back an hour later. However, at first the guy told me he would bring me my money after midnight and I said no way or else I will call the police. The guy on the phone was rude and pushy. It is not a threat, but a promise that I will never be returning.

Ok how people have enjoyed a meal here I have no idea. This is hands down the worst chinese take out of all time. The fried rice is old, dry yellow rice with an infant handful of diced carrots and peas, no thanks. The general tso’s chicken and chicken chow mein(yea I ate here twice, so shame on me) were both gross. First the General Tso’s which I believe the sauce for is at least half soy sauce(wtf?) is mostly chewy crisp and what chicken it does contain my hungry pit bull turned his nose at. The next time I went I ordered the chow mein to try and avoid the meat altogether. Bad idea. It was a mess, the onions must have been rancid or something because Ive never imagined chow mein could be so gross. Took two bites and threw it out. Also like someone else mentioned, the delivery drivers take forever. It took them nearly an hour to deliver to the Estates which is a fence away from being in the same plaza! How this place stays in business I have no idea, maybe they launder money or something. Avoid at all costs. These experiences werent recent(from spring 2010) but I was inspired to write this review when I saw them on the front page of Unilocal today and saw a couple positive reviews here.

Pretty good chinese take out place, I would say one of the tastiest in town. the food is pretty fresh and they make the food fast. You can also order their food thorugh and they will deliver(but this is only for people who live fairly close to the restaurant, if you live too far out they won’t deliver).
