Dobre Gymnastics has been wonderful for my son’s personal development. I thanked them for helping him find his inner(and outer) strength and flexibility in mind, body and spirit. He was a typically boy who, just a couple of years ago wouldn’t even step foot in to the building thinking gymnastics was for girls only and he wouldn’t have any fun and felt odd being there. I had to nudge and half force him to give it a good try, and Boz cleverly introduced my unwilling boy to a tumbling and trampoline class he thought would be enjoyed by all kids. I later learned that he has boys of his own, and knew exactly what entices them to the sport. Once he tried that class, he was hooked and has been loving and thriving in the boys gymnastics classes ever since. Dobre is a gymnastics club/school run like a small family business(which it is) and they treat their customers/families and kids as such. In today’s world where most businesses are run by the book and are in it for the bottom line and offer little flexibility, Dobre may not appear to be the most professional, but is refreshingly personal and flexible if you give them a chance. There aren’t that many literal Mom and Pop shops around town and in America anymore, we need to treasure places like this. I have been very happy with my son’s personal journey so far, and intend to see him grow up learning the basics of sportsmanship, discipline and hard work. I don’t expect him to be competing in the Olympics or anything even close, but I have been very happy seeing the bright smiles on his face, the sweat pouring down from his hairline after class, and the happy goodbyes he says to his classmates every week. Along the way, he has found a sense of confidence and growing strength overall that I am very grateful to witness as a parent. I see a gym full of happy kids every time I’m there, and parents who are most likely feeling similar thoughts as I do. This gym is not perfect, I don’t know of one that is, but I for one have been a happy customer and Mom so far, and would gladly recommend them.

My kid was here for a birthday party. It started at 1p, and for 90ish minutes it was non stop. They did a good job. My kid took a nap, which hasn’t happened for awhile. They lost a star because it needs handy man type attention. One sink in the mens room doesn’t work, and there is a dent in the drywall where a paper towel dispenser belongs. It’s not dusty, and parts of it smell like disinfectant.

My daughter has been going to classes here for a few months and she loves it. Elizabeth is a great coach. The staff is super friendly. It is affordable and no contracts. They also offer Zumba that is free for the first class then $ 5 a class. Looking forward to attending!!!

So I started my daughter at dobre when she was four, the people at this gym… I adore them. They are the sweetest and kindest people I have met in a long time. We even had her fourth birthday here. When we first started my daughters teacher was the red headed woman(it’s been a while I can’t remember her name) she was lovely, she kept telling me My daughter would be great with gymnastics, she has tough thighs tough thighs!(maybe English was her second language?) but we had to stop for a year duh to money issues. We returned the next year and it was as though we never left. They welcomed my daughter right back in with open arms. Even though she goes on Saturdays she is never lumped into a group where she knows no one because they ALTERNATE the girls into the older groups sporadically, which is great because she will be going into the next group in the next few months. This past year they had their first Olympic Day and was the ONLY gym in Maryland that was allowed to do so. Can you say epic? I took off one star mainly for the equipment but the equipment is being USED so duh that’s going to happen. You also can’t beat the prices here. As a single mom prices and quality are the most important thing for me! And Dobre serves this in abundance.

This place is training mostly girls. My biggest complaint was the classes usually start 2 – 5 minutes late, and end ~5 minutes early, with rare exceptions. When I appproached the teacher with that issue, I was told it’s fine and no need to worry. Also, not all teachers are engaged. They don’t pay attention to what the kids are doing because they get too many kids in the class. Also, they tend to combine groups if not enough kids show up. For example, my daughter was stuck with much smaller kids at a totally different level.
