I saw Hammer’s designs workmanship and I was blown away. They are truly able to accomplish that delicate balance between modern and classic.

When I saw the finished product that these guys produced I was floored. I’ve seen a lot of companies who do basic remodeling and it all looked very well. But when my friend referred me to this company I could clearly see this company were true craftsmen and artists.
I am really impressed by the owners of the company. I have now had the pleasure of meeting with one of them, Jorge Castellanos, on several occasions and he is a man of integrity. He takes a great deal of pride in his work. One of our meetings he even picked me up and took me out to lunch. Love his attention to detail and transparency. I look forward to finally owning a house of my own soon and contracting these guys to make an old house look new again.

Don’t be fooled by their bell and whistles and fancy website manager. I could go on and on about what I don’t like about this company but I’ll try to limit myself to the things that were most irritating: The biggest thing is that they are dishonest. They wanted me to pay 100% up front for cabinets. When I told them I would not pay that upfront, I was then told that because the cabinet company wanted to maintain good will and keep their business, they would make this one exception and allow me to pay 50% down. Well, I called the cabinet people and their policy was 33% down, balance on delivery. Hammer would have collected the 100%, paid the cabinet people 33% and would have had 66% of the cabinet cost in their pockets. And do not buy into their payment schedule. You’ll be way ahead of yourself. After multiple issues and $ 5000 paid for plans and partial demolition, we parted ways. Last but not least, there were erroneous measurements and the cabinet company has told me Hammer won’t take responsibility for them. I’m still dealing with that.

These folks did a major kitchen and bathroom renovation for us. I will never use them again for anything. First, they started with a bait and switch on pricing. Then after paying a non-​refundable deposit the final pricing came in way above the original range quote after a considerable investment of time and money. Long story short, you need to be be a lawyer and a contractor yourself to deal with these guys. They do not translate your vision into the project and nitpick you on oversights. They are great at marketing but terrible at customer satisfaction. I have already advised several curious friends to stay away from them.

Where do I begin? Like the other reviewer, we saw this company at a home show. They kept their appt and he gave us his spill. He told us they could work with a small budget even though in my opinion, our budget was not that small at 20−25k for a kitchen remodel. We spent 1.5+ hrs listening, giving our ideas, and thoughts, since we were not exactly sure what our vision was. He unofficially quoted a price up to 35k and to to be quite honest, is more than we want to spend. He saw my apprehension to the budget but we still continued to exchange conversation. Fast forward, in closing this meeting we decided to think it over over the weekend before we secured a follow up to have a designer come over. Side note: that is a $ 700 charge but it can be applied towards the cost if we accept and sign a contract. Ok, no problem. We agreed that he would call us on the following Monday for our decision. Monday, no call. Tues, no call. Etc, etc. He never called! The funny thing is is that during our conversation, I made a point to tell him that we already had another contractor come by and promised to call us back and he never called, and he does the SAME thing. I don’t understand… why waste your time and our time. He made an assumption for us, and killed an opportunity for potential clients.

This company was at a local home show. I set up a free consultation with them. They called and emailed a confirmation. The day of the consultation, they left a voice mail on my home phone CANCELLING the appointment. NO email! My husband and I left work early to be home for this. We only got the message when we arrived home. Company made NO effort to email or call cell phone, and they really had no excuse. Just said they double booked. Well they weren’t doubled booked 5 days earlier when they confirmed. Maybe a bigger job came along and I got bumped? Very disappointing.
