I am from out of town and needed a haircut bad. I read the reviews on here and thought I would give this place a shot. The people there are VERY nice. The haircut I got was hands down the best I have ever gotten. If you are in need of a new barber please visit this place.

My young son loves going to MR Dans. The prices are reasonable. They are swift to get you in and get you out. Great spot. They only take cash though so come prepared.

First I think they are not really cleaning the table and stuff around.
Second the lady that did my hair cut she was unsure about what was she doing.
Third real family business .
Updated: after shower I looked at my hairs and saw a mess.

Everybody here is really really nice! I used to drive 45 minutes to my previous barber but this place does really well, and I really like my hair cuts from this place, so I go here now instead. When you park in the back, the barber shop is in the building with the stairs, but around the front facing the main road.

Hands down the best barber shop I’ve been to in the last 20 years! Let me preface by saying that being in the military almost 20 years, I’ve moved around a lot and had my fair share of horrible and disappointing haircuts. This place is place never ceases to amaze me with a superb haircut! All of the staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I would definitely drive over an hour to get here if needed once I move from the Gburg area.
One tip: Credit cards are not accepted.

My dad has been cutting my hair since I was 5 (27 now). He wasn’t free this weekend, and I needed a cut BAD. Chose this place since it had good reviews, and the cut I got was worthy enough for a 5 star review. I’m very particular with my hair, and this lady cut it exactly how I wanted. Quality.
Heads up, they only take cash. Don’t be a fool like me, and drive down the street to the ATM.

I have been coming here since high school, they are the greatest ever, I dint let anyone cut my hair but them. They have such a good understanding on how to treat their customers, they almost know all their customers by name and even how they like their haircuts, that to me says a lot. The great thing is, not only have they known me since HS, they are now cutting my sons hair, and theytake care of him like family. I have nothing but great things to say about them. You can see by the rest of the reviews, that I’m not the only one that feels the same way about them.

Great place to go! Everyone is friendly, reliable, and they have been around for years for a reason! I always get a hello when I walk in and leave satisfied and happy with a cut just the way I like it every time. I have been going since my teens and now I take my kids. Great place for the family! This is truly a family-​run business, and all barbers seem genuinely happy to see you. Their barber skills are second-​to-​none. Their prices – although they raised them by $ 1 this month – are very reasonable. Over four years since I and my son have been using their service, we’ve always felt welcomed. Once you experience their service, I am sure you too will become a regular.

My son and my husband have been coming to this family-​owned barber shop since we moved to MD 8+ years ago. The owners are very friendly people. They listen to what you want and do great cuts, and at affordable prices. Once you come here a few times, they’ll know you by name. Many of their customers have been coming here for years.

I’ve been to Mr. Dan’s Barber Shop a handful of times now. I ask Va (pronounced «Vah») to cut my hair each time. He does an amazing job. He is always meticulous, as he carefully perfects every cut. I’ve tried out 5 barbershops in Rockville/​Gaithersburg and this is the best by far. Again, I can only attest to the quality of this specific barber though.
Previous review: Just went there a few days ago to get a buzz cut for my sides and back and blend to the top. The younger guy cut my hair and did a great job. The place wasn’t too busy, they worked quickly, the two men there were very friendly, and the haircut was only $ 13. Will definitely return in the future.

Just went to Mr Dans because it was close by and saw it on here. Was honestly one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten. The lady who cut my hair was one of the few people who made sure of how I wanted it before she went through with cutting it all the way. Small little place I was pleasantly surprised and will def be going back. Not to mention they were cheaper then most places. Its a easy place to miss though if your looking for it.

I am so tired of paying a ton of money for just trims. So I decided to try this barber shop at the recommendation of a friend. I was extremely nervous being a female with long hair (down past my shoulders), but I gave it a shot.
The owner’s wife cut my hair and she did it gorgeously! It was even, she took her time, she blew dry it for me, she tappered my ends like I asked, and she took off just as much as I asked her too. All for only $ 15 (not including tip)!
Still too nervous to try anyone else’s skills there with female hair, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, but I have no problem letting the owner’s wife cut mine.
They allow walk-​ins and will let you know the wait time if there are many people.
I know you can pay with cash or check, but I do not know about credit cards.
There is free parking in the back and it is a little dingy, but also homey and has that nice atmosphere where you feel welcome no matter who you are.

I have used the services of this barber shop for the last 12 years and have always been very satisfied.
The shop has very skillful barbers. Although I exclusively receive haircuts from the owner’s wife (I believe), it appears that Mr. Dan has the biggest following, with customers frequently lined up at his workstation. Still, from my own experience I would recommend his wife.
The interior design of the shop is not the strongest suit of the Mr. Dan’s locale; however, it is well compensated by other attributes: the easy access and parking, prices and, most importantly, the 5 star quality of service.
