Great shop for fades. The barbers here all take their time, making sure the blend is perfect, going over with the clippers many times to perfect the transition from shaved to long. I came in here with a botched Hair Cuttery monstrosity of a cut, and the guy with the middle chair was able to salvage it into a great high and tight fade. Learned my lesson. I will just stick to Phil’s from now on even though it’s a bit of a drive from where I live. I have had three of the four barbers, and have never left disappointed. Each has his own technique for fading, but all three turned out expert work. The shop is small and no frills, located right behind the Gaithersburg MARC station.(There’s another barbershop called Primo’s across the street, but I’ve never been there.)

Phil is the best! He’s been cutting my hair for over 19 years. Sharpest fades ever always! My friends say they have the best barber until they try phil once. then they switch!

Not my usual barber, but my kid needed a cut badly, all I can say is this will be the last time I go or take him there. not the owner, but the other barber is crazy rough, no regards to the fact that he’s cutting a childs hair. To top it off, he cut it shorter then what I asked for, I was specific with what I wanted, not my first time at a barber shop, thank goodness hair grows back.

As a middle aged guy my requirements are modest, so if you need something fancy you might think differently. But they certainly deliver what I need: A basic haircut at a good price, little wait, pleasant staff and an overall pleasant atmosphere. I’ll be back. It would be nice, though, if staff would not interrupt their work for lengthy phone calls of private nature!

Phil’s the best Barber in town, he’s been cutting my hair for 18 years, and about 20 of my friends agree he’s the best.

Been a loyal client of Phil’s through his first two spots and now his own shop… about 15 years. Phil is the best in the business, has fair prices, and treats you well. Without a doubt he is the best barber in Moco and probably the state.

I have been going to Phil’s Barber shop for 15 years and it is, by far, the best barber shop in Gaithersburg. I have tried pretty much all the barber shops in Gaithersburg and Phil’s haircuts tops them all. He takes his time on his fades even if he has a line of 5 people waiting. He clearly wants each haircut to be perfect to ensure his customers come back for more. The others barbers in his shop give good cuts too. This place will give you a good quality cut for a great price!($ 14). Can’t beat it!!!

I’ve been going to Phil’s Barber shop for 4 years, and I live all the way up in Frederick Maryland. It took me 7 years to find a barber I like and I’m as picky as they get, when coming to Haircuts. Phil has definitely been the best I’ve been to. I’m a customer for life.

I’ve been in Maryland for a little more than a year, and had been frustrated looking for a barber who does a really good flat top haircut. I asked a friend whose haircut I liked, and he referred me to Phil’s. Phil does an excellent flat top, and likes doing them! This is a great old-fashioned barbershop. It’s not a «salon,» but I’m not looking for a salon. Most of the guys I see there have short haircuts, and they all leave looking great. I’m so happy to have found my barbershop and barber!

This place isn’t very good, they only know how to cut with number clips not scissors and comb. They just don’t have the skill to compensate for the shape of one’s head. I’ve been trying to find a good place in Northern Montgomery County for a while. Looks like I will have to shlep my ass down to Wheaton for a little while longer.
