First time here. This is not our usual phở place(which is Phở & Grill), but our son had a craving for phở so this was a nearby choice, well-reviewed on Unilocal.Décor is nice, simple, clean. Interior is spacious. Full table service. We just had the phở so I cannot comment on anything else on the menu. Phở broth was a little on the salty side for our taste. Not as much deep beef flavor either. On a good note, there was a good amount of noodles, beef, and condiments such as fresh bean sprouts, lime wedges, basil, & slices of jalapeños. Service was average. They were attentive until it got busier. Not sure we would return.

I was in the area and craving some Vietnamese food. Unilocaled and it brought me here. This place is a hidden wonder. And by hidden I mean I had to make a few U turns to find the plaza it was in. The food was great. I had the C8 which is pork and egg roll in with vermicelli. The pork was amazing. So well flavored and a good amount. The egg roll was hot and tasty. The server was very kind and courteous. I will definitely be back if I’m in the area again!

A simple nice place for the quick dinner. Just wanted to have a nice noodle soup so looked up the nearby Phở place from Unilocal. We got seated quickly. We ordered the traditonal phở and the seafood noodle soup. Both have the clear broth but tasted different. The Phở still have the nice Beef broth. The seafood noodle soup was more Chinese noodle soup taste. Both were really good. I also liked the Thai bubble tea which was pretty creamy with topioca. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. He was the cashier for the carry out orders and the waiter for all the tables. He did a wonderful job to take care both.

This place is awesome! Great food and fast service, and the wait staff is exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and cozy. The phở is really good here and so are the appetizers. The broth is flavorful but light, i.e., just the way I like it. I always ask for the raw meat option, so the beef is added to the broth right before they serve it to you; that way, the meat is extra flavorful and tender. It cooks just enough in the broth without being overcooked. We’ve been here multiple times and the food has been consistently good. We usually get phở with eye-of-round steak and brisket(i.e., the standard #12 at most phở restaurants, although I can’t recall what the exact number was here). The summer rolls are also decent. The only dish I didn’t really like was the phở with beef meatballs(phở bo vien) — the texture of the meatballs was a bit too rubbery and compacted for me, although my dining partner did, in fact, enjoy it. So, it’s probably just a matter of textural preference and expectation. To be fair, it was my first time trying phở bo vien; I’m used to Italian or Swedish-style meatballs that are a lot more«rugged» looking in appearance, where you can distinguish the fact that you are eating ground beef instead mistaking them for salami balls. ;) The broth and everything else in the soup was still super-delicious though. You never know what you’re going to like until you try it, so that’s not going to keep me from being adventurous on future outings here. I look forward to going back and trying some of the other appetizers and types of phở. I love the fact that they have a larger menu than most phở restaurants in the area, so the extra variety is a refreshing change from the other phở restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

The service and Phở I received was great! The phở and Bun Bo Hue was plentiful and very flavorful! I highly recommend this place. After my first visit, I ended up going back the next couple of days in a row to eat!

Checked this place out for the first time over the weekend and based on my experience, would definitely return. My mom got the bon bo hue, very flavorful, authentic and aromatic broth. My Phở Ga was very good as well, good broth, noodles were nicely cooked(not over done and sticking together). **TIP* The chicken is not bone-in as some phở places have it in Philadelphia, in case that is an important factor for you. Food/flavor wise I wouldn’t say there’s much that sets this place apart from other Phở places — although this is one of the first in MD I’ve seen Bön Bo Hue at! But what DOES separate this place apart is the cleanliness, and service. Our server was very nice, genuine and friendly and truly appreciative of our support as customers, and that goes a long way. Service may be a tad slower, as there is only 1 person manning the tables, but he did a great job!

They don’t offer vegetarian Phở with veggie broth. One would think that with increasing number of health conscious people, in 2015, it wouldn’t be an issue. Doesn’t make sense to offer vegetarian Phở soup with chicken broth. That’s chicken Phở. On a business side of things, they are missing out on some customer base. Too bad, this place is 0.8 miles from my house and can’t eat there. This is the same review I posted for another Phở place. Same issue.

This is my wife and my favorite phở place in this area. It is very clean. Service is fast and friendly. The phở broth is delicious. The meat is also very tasty and of good quality. They have other dishes well which are very good. My wife usually gets the summer rolls and the grilled pork dish. Both are very good. I personally would recommend this phở place over the others in the area.

I ain’t like it taste was funny ! Small portion of meat. Not a lot they give. They ran out of wooden chopsticks… My folks said it looks like a temple in here.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Only eaten here a handful of times but the service is very good and the food is consistent which I find important. The phở broth is very flavorful with a good balance of beefiness to aromatics ratio unlike other places that use an overpowering amount of aromatics to hide the lack of beef flavor. Overall great food! Will be back.

I wasn’t really in the mood for phở on this day so I ordered the Royal Special vermicelli bowl(B1) because our waiter recommended it. I’m so glad I did! I’ve had vermicelli bowls at other Vietnamese restaurants, but this one was definitely the best I’ve had. It comes with shrimp, an eggroll, beef, noodles, tons of fresh lettuce, cilantro and carrots, and topped off with some crushed peanuts. It also comes with a light sauce that you pour on top. It was a large portion too and it ended up becoming two meals for me. If you’re looking for a light and fresh meal this will satisfy your cravings. Service was good as well, but that might have been because we were the only customers there(in their defense we came at an awkward time — too late for lunch, but too early for dinner). Also, they don’t accept Discover so bring other cards or cash. Prices were also very reasonable. My friend and I paid about $ 18 for both of our meals. I’ll definitely come back and try their phở!

Service is good, Food is ok, Portion is too small. A BIGPLUS — They have noodle soup for vegetarians! that’s why I give 3 stars. This place was great(Taste, portion, price, service) when it first opened. However, over the time, the portion gets smaller and smaller, the prices get higher(I guess to compensate the coupon in clipper magazine). Recently I ordered bun bo hue, there was only one piece of 2″ diameter x ½″ bun bo in my noodle soup. The chef put some beef in it. But the reason I ordered bun bo hue was to eat bun bo. If I want to eat beef, I’d order phở. It is the only Vietnamese restaurant I know would put the shrimp paste in bun bo hue before serving. Most places let the customer to put the amount of shrimp paste suit them best by themselves. It is strange. It’s like ordering freshly brew coffee from coffee shop, but the coffee came out with cream and sugar added. I may go back only if I need to pick up cakes/dessert from Classic Bakery next door, and in a rush.

This place was pretty good. Service was friendly and it seemed clean. No beer or wine, which was a bummer on a hot day. Particularly since they’re next door to a wine store and you can’t even byob. The summer rolls were okay. No cilantro in them, which I appreciated. They garnish with it, but not inside the doll. The fried egg rolls were really quite good. The vermicelli with lemongrass beef was the best part of the meal. Really tasty and fresh. If you’re visiting the baby store in the same shopping mall, it’s a good place to get a bite.

This restaurant is the closet phở house near my house. I eat here ALLTHETIME! The phở dac biet is very good, although often times they’re pretty stingy on the tendon(which is my favorite). There were a few times I didn’t get any tendon at all… I’m assuming the young gentleman who’s always there is the owner(or the owner’s son). He’s very polite but pretty slow when it comes to taking orders and serving. Make sure to check for coupons in the local Clipper magazine before your go. They sometimes have 15%/25% off promotions.

Current phở binge status. I came here with my family when it was still colder. It was a good option for a quick bite before we went out separate ways. My entire family LOVES phở. I have to say the Phở in MD always falls flat for me. The flavors just aren’t there and I always leave with a slight twang of disappointment. We came closer to closing, but there were a good amount of people eating probably around 4 – 5 tables. The phở overall was just okay. The soup was just a little bland for me. LOTS and LOTS of noodles. My sister said she liked it. So, I can maybe give this place another whirl. They have non-phở options on the menu as well. Good to have some variety :)

A fellow Unilocaler messaged and me and told me the bun bo hue was better. i should’ve heed his warning. really not so great phở. Very small bowl, barely any meat. there’s no essence in the broth, not even a smidget of oil! That’s where the flavors come from. Stick to the bun bo hue here, there’s at least more flavor in it.

My food was so amazing I had to write this post before I finished eating. The pork was flavorful and hot. I don’t need huge portions so I’m sure I’ll be full from eating this however $ 9.25 for it seemed a tad high. Service was friendly and fast. They actually check on you versus the Phở place on Shady Grove rd. Do not drive past this place without grabbing something.

Phở is one of my favorite foods, so take my word when I say that Phở Saigon is a good place to get it. They also have bun bo hue, but more on that later… The phở is very original, meaning it tastes different from other phos in the area. They have a very clean tasting broth, and when mixed with the right things, tastes fabulous. The good news is that the soup has less sodium than the other places for those of you who prefer not to be as bloated. The bad news is that the soup hass less sodium, and I like that salty kick in my phở(salty, sweet, savory, sour, bitter) which is where fish sauce comes in handy. More bad news, they don’t have fish sauce readily available on their tables(maybe I should ask). To end on a positive note, their portions are large and they do not skimp on meat. Now to the bun bo hue(boon bo way). It is not authentic and is more Americanized. They acheive assimilation by removing the pigs feet, lemongrass, and congealed blood. The blood is replaced by meatballs, which is an excellent substitute as I think it has more flavor. The soup is not as red and spicy as most bun bo hue, so you true fans will have to add to your broth. Unfortunately, the lemongrass flavor is not replaced. The service is excellent, quick, attentive, and extremely friendly. How many phở places keep your water filled to the brim? Exactly! I am also always asked if I need anything else, just clues that show they really are trying to show their attentiveness. All and all, this is a solid place to get phở, but I prefer to grab my bun bo hue elsewhere. That being said, it should appeal to those of you less adventurous eaters who don’t do well with very spicy foods. I enjoy conversing with the lady and young man behind the counter, and hope this place continues to stay in business.

We were in the area and wanted something light and quick. Phở it is! We walked in to a fairly empty restaurant. We were a tad worried since it was prime time dinner time. We sat down and ordered immediately.(We typically get the same thing everywhere we go.) I didn’t see any options for vegetarians. I went with the seafood rice noodle soup. But actually ended up getting egg noodle. I didn’t want to make a fuss about it, so I just ate it. But that irked me since I don’t want to eat egg. The server wasn’t paying attention to me when I was ordering, I had a feeling which came out to be true. My partner ordered the combination meat Phở and was pleased. She thought there was a generous amount of meat. The soup had good flavor. She also ordered the chicken wing appetizer which I thought was kind of a rip off. Instead of the whole wing like most Vietnamese places do, it was 1⁄3 of a wing. So it wasn’t actually 4 wings as stated in the menu. She liked the wings otherwise. I thought they were okay. We also had summer rolls without pork, which again was decent. My seafood noodle soup was decent. The Phở is definitely the better choice here. I don’t forsee us coming back. There are better Phở places in the area with better and more options. We will stick to them. Prices are good. Parking is easy. Service was okay.

3 stars but I’ll be back. It’s not often I would write a 3 star review for a restaurant, and still would like to come back, but that’s the case with Phở Viet Saigon. Upon seeing a coupon in the local flyers, we decided to stop by for dinner, and it was a mixed bag. Even though we wanted phở, we ended up ordering summer rolls, lemongrass grilled pork, shrimp, egg rolls with vermicelli, lemongrass grilled pork with rice, and wonton soup. Surprisingly, the wonton soup stood out of the crowd. The soup was delicious(though it can be on the oily side), and the wontons themselves tasted fresh. The only drawback is that you don’t get a lot of wontons, at +$ 8 per bowl. The summer rolls were of average quality, just a tad below the type of rolls you can make yourself at home. And while I enjoyed the lemongrass grilled pork, the egg rolls were cold and smushy, the shrimp were overcooked, and the larger cut of grilled pork had a lot of fat on it. As far as portion size goes, they are fairly generous about their noodle and rice dishes. The wonton soup was done great, but it did not justify the +$ 8 that they were charging. Nevertheless we saw the potential of their soup, and that itself was good enough for us to come back and try their phở and noodle soup. I’d steer clear of their rice and vermicelli dishes though, as they didn’t pay close enough attention to each individual ingredient. One note about service — it definitely had a family atmosphere where everyone were very nice and attentive.
