Manageable for business trips. The staff is friendly, eager and helpful. Included breakfast is a plus.

I miss this place already. This was probably the cutest room I have ever been in when I stayed at a hotel. It felt just like home. When you walk in, it looks like an apartment. The kitchen literally has every item need to make your favorite meal. Even a dishwasher… Say what! The couch was very comfortable too. The bed was pretty comfortable as well. Some reason the person I stayed with HATED the pillows but I had no problem with them. The bathroom is sort of small — where the shower & toilet is but the area before you walk into the bathroom has enough space to store everything you need to get ready and also has a nice closet. The breakfast was also pretty good too(eggs and sausage were really good). The breakfast area can fill up quickly since on weekends it’s only open from 7:30 — 9:30. I only saw the staff like twice but they were always welcoming. The only weird thing was the hallway smell. It didn’t smell bad but it was a weird smell and also people left their take-out in the hallway? I guess they were too lazy to put it in the trash themselves? But any who, I would definitely stay at this place again with no hesitation! Definitely recommend. Oh and don’t miss the free popcorn on the table!

We stay at this hotel every year on our way to the Outer Banks and back. I love the location. It’s in a park-like setting with a lake and walking trails. They allow dogs so it’s a great place to walk the pooch after a long drive. Within walking distance is the Rio Center with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment. The price is very reasonable for the DC area. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Another reviewer mentioned about its closeness to the highway. Our last room was in that section and we never heard anything. The free breakfast has a nice variety. My only complaint is I wish they had better signage in the buildings. With multiple sections, it’s easy to lose your way.

There are four Marriot hotels in this area, and Residence Inn is probably the only one that offers free breakfast until you move up to gold or higher in the reward program. All other ones charges for them. Two of the other Marriot hotels are right next to the Rio Washingtonian Center, but it is not a bad walk from this location as well. Some of the rooms in this hotel seemed rather close to the freeway and can be bothersome if you dislike traffic noises. The place seems a lot nicer after their recently remodeling. All of the rooms were suite sizes, and prices were about the same for room sizes at nearby hotels. They all have kitchens. The room also does not feature an awkward energy saving gimmick with hotel card insertion like another international hotel chain in the area. Country breakfast buffets were included every day and they feature light dinners on the weekdays as well. Wi-Fi was free. I would recommend staying here if you enjoy larger room at similar cost, or when you are climbing up the Marriot frequent stay ladder. Staffs were also friendly here and they remember our faces even after a few months.

A few nice things, but don’t be deceived. Stayed here for 6 days while husband was transferred. Wifi was DREADFUL, even with a free upgrade, it was USELESS(the manager gave it free but it doesn’t work so not worth anything). That alone was the reason I gave it one star, who can live without wifi these days. We were reserved a 1 bedroom, they were filled, we got a studio. The tiny pool was supposed to be heated(?) but the only umbrella(used by the lifeguard, lifeguard was a nice touch but he was a jerk). So we couldn’t stay without shade(It summer in DC expect sun and heat). Our kid was so disappointed because neither of us could handle the sun and heat). Again, what hotel thinks only the lifeguard gets an umbrella. There are 20 stations on the TV but you can’t see many of them because of the static. I’ve stayed in Holiday Inn express that has decent tv. The maids need to be told to make the sofa bed and fold it up. They don’t check to see if you need refills on your shampoo. The staff was nice but it doesn’t make up for lousy accommodations. Find somewhere else…

Stayed here for 5 nights. Breakfast was good, SALTWATER pool was fabulous, service great. My only complaint was that they ran out of extra blankets and pillows so if you’re traveling with a family of 4, bring your own extras. Room was nice. Check out the Rio Washingtonian which is a short walk. Lake with kids activities and restaurants. Boardwalk too. Metro into DC was super convenient. Well worth it.
