Superb Cuisines

I have written a few recommendations for Keula and her team at Superb Cuisines before, but just realized that I had not yet posted anything on Unilocal.This woman and her team deserve EVERY compliment that I can think of! We hired them for our wedding at Rockwood Manor in Potomac in June 2012 and they ROCKED OUR SOCKS OFF.
We had visited and tried at least 7 – 8 of the «typical» wedding caterers before we met Keula, and NONE of them were anything more than «fine», serving very generic, bland dishes and making me feel like a cheapskate for expecting to serve 120 guests for under $ 10K!
Meeting Keula was a BLESSING. From the first time we met, she was very attentive, accommodating, and handled everything with the utmost professionalism. The food prepared by the chef for our tasting was truly superb (and –while I love delicious food– my husband is a real «foodie»). And they maintained that level of quality and presentation for the food at our wedding buffet –something I doubted would be possible! Keula responded to every question or issue I had within hours every single time. And she worked with our budget, with grace, never pressuring us to do things other than what we wanted.
A few days before our wedding, my day-​of wedding coordinator had to cancel (very unprofessional behavior, but that is another story…). Keula stepped in right away and took on many of the coordination functions at the wedding venue. I cannot tell you how much that meant to me: that I was able to relax and enjoy my wedding knowing that things were being handled with care. And she NEVER charged us anything extra for all this extra work, so we were just extremely happy to give her and her team a big tip.

Ordered my Thanksgiving dinner at this place. Very disappointed. First of all, the pick up time was 2 pm, my guests were to arrive at 3. We were there to pick up our order at 1:45 and waited until 3:30 because the food wasn’t ready. No apologies were given. Second, the food itself was unacceptable for a catering business. Cranberry sauce was from a can. Staffing was sticky, hard to scrape of a spoon and had inch-​long pieces of celery mixed in. Gravy was not gravy at all, just runny turkey drippings. But worse of all was the mashed potatoes. It tasted as if it was made out of previously frozen potatoes AND contained uncooked pieces quoter of a potato in size. Unacceptable! In all the fairness, the turkey was good, but only a 14 pounder for a dinner for 12. Pies were good also. Don’t order anything from them for a special occasion!

Why then Keula, do I still not have my money back from you? Why did I have to open a claim through my bank to retrieve the deposit I gave you which retained your services? Keula don’t lie. We were working together. Don’t try to fake the funk now that you seen this review and try to come up with your «side» of the story. If what you wrote is factual I would’ve had my monies back by July 11^th. Its the 31^st. Wow, not only are you a bad business woman you are also a liar.
Thank you SO much for ending our relationship. I thought I would be stuck with you but when you offered my money back I’m sure you even heard the relief in my voice :) The minute I had to start hounding you for simple answers after I paid you a deposit was the defining moment for me. You didn’t care about getting me answers, that’s why it took you weeks. Be an adult and take responsibility for your actions instead of trying to throw blame around. After you messed up repeatdly, you should’ve taken the opportunity to rectify your mistakes per my account and get me information so that we could’ve continued our relationship. In case you forgot I PAID you to do this work for me and you DID NOT. This is why we are here. You did not do what you were paid to do so I took a refund at YOUR suggestion almost a month ago and I still don’t have it!!!
I didn’t read your whole reply Keula, you can still call me back and we can talk or you can reply to the tons of messages I have sent you that you never replied to… But I see this is how this relationship will go down in flames… With me fighting to get my money back from you up to 90 days later… and you coming on here lying to save face. You are the worst, seriously. I’m sure Keula doesn’t care, but this throws my wedding budget off by $ 2,464.50 and I wont be seeing this money that I saved up for this specific purpose until AFTER my wedding/​honeymoon.
And I have Keula Binnelly from Superb Cuisines to thank. Be careful guys… just please be careful dealing with her! This wedding is SO important and this situation is really messing with my Joy and the way I look at other vendors, and its NOT fair to them as Keula and Superb Cuisines are just the one bad apple in my experience.

I too purchased a living social coupon from Superb Cuisines. The deal was a full dinner for 6 for $ 75– whole roasted turkey breast, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans with mushrooms, gravy, cornbread and a pumpkin pie. I was skepical after reading the previous article but nonetheless decided to give it a try. I am a very picky eater with sensitive taste buds and I thought everything with the exception of the dressing was outstanding — truly delicous — and nicely portioned. I would make a complaint about the dressing though — not too sure what is was… seemed like a mixture of gravy, dark meat… it was so far gone I couldn’t even try to improve it in some way — so the whole container went into the garbage. But the rest of the meal was so unbelievable that I let it go — would def. use them again.
