Great tacos! When I’m in the area and hungry that’s the place. Very clean a friendly staff. Try it out.

Great Mexican place you can get tacos/burritos/tortas/sopesar etc. And good alternative alternative to «Taco Bar» also in Gaithersburg. They also serve«Horchata» a salvadorean drink! Enjoy!

Yum! this place is amazing. All the flavors and excitement of Chipotle, but you can taste the love. I tried the lengua torta and it was amazing. Just what I needed on a chilly day in January! I love their toppings bar. They have a very different selection than I’m used to. Their red sauce was the perfect heat and the verde sauce was amazing it tasted so fresh. I really liked this place. It was in a cozy strip mall. The cashier was very professional and courteous. Bonus, their soda machine had the perfect amount of co2. It was so bubbly! I will definitely be back! Thank you for a great meal!

Love this place. After a series of disappointing taco finds around the DC area, we were very happy to find Tortacos. It reminds me of home(L.A.). And the staff is extremely friendly.

We were in mood for something Mexican for lunch, and Tortacos popped up in the search. It was located on the east side of the mall in a little strip mall. The sign can be a little camouflage during daytime, and oddly enough, there was a Tex-mex place next door. The store itself was actually quite small itself with just a handful of tables. I got the Fish Burrito, since I came from a landlocked state, and we were somewhat close to the ocean here. They have a salsa station that you can add whatever you want onto your dish, the green sauce was spicier than the red one. The fish was fresh enough, cooked nicely with right amount of seasoning. It was a quite tasty burrito. It was not a bad luncheon spot if you work in this area, or happen to be shopping at the mall. Their prices were fair for this area too. Service was excellent as well. It was definitely a place worth coming back to.

Based on the reviews, I was expecting something exactly like what I get in SoCal and Tijuana. Their food is SoCal decent, but not worth driving all the way up from downtown DC for. We tried all the meats in taco form. The biggest indicator of how good the food was is the fact that a few months later, I can’t remember any one thing that stood out about their tacos. The salsa bar was awesome though.

Great burrito. Fresh ingredients. Only complaint is you had to wait for them to cook it, but how bad can it be if you have to wait for them to cook it fresh to order.

I was in town visiting a friend and I told her I wanted authentic Mexican food(cause I’m from California and that’s all I like to eat). My friend took me to this place and I was very satisfied. They took more of a tex-mex take on the chicken burrito I ordered, but it’s all in the salsa and chips for me as well. The chips were homemade and the salsa was perfectly flavored. We ordered guacamole on the side which was also pretty prefect tasting. Or it could be that I was famished from a 2 hour hike we had just completed. Small restaurant but clean. I’d suggest take out. When you can get that right, you’re good in my book. Thumbs up Maryland Mexican food.

All the hype is real! This place is stellar. The chicken was oddly the best thing on the menu for me and I usually prefer the fish and pork at taco joints. The quesadilla is cheesy to the supreme. The taco also very good and I like the toppings bar. The pico is good on everything. The hot sauce was the only thing I didn’t like, and I like hot but this had no depth(get the green instead!) The sopes was ok but I wouldn’t try this again. I really want a burrito or torta next time. The place itself is small but has a fair amount of seating. The food is inexpensive and quick. DELISH!

Get the Al Pastor burrito… so good! The service is fast, the guys working the counter are very nice, the condiments are fresh and flavorful, and the food is delicious. A little pricey IMO, but worth it. Consistency is what draws me back to this place. Every time I go, it taste the same or better.

My boyfriend and I got here all the time and it’s ALWAYS amazing!!! We always order burrito bowls with carnitas, everything on it, and guac inside. The toppings bar is full of amazing deliciousness. My favorite combo is cilantro, pico de gallo, and green sauce. Then I add a squeeze of lime for perfection. The staff here is always very friendly and the restaurant is never empty(always a good sign). I think a new location is opening soon in Germantown! Hopefully that means the Montgomery Village location will be all mine! MWAHAHAHA!!! This place beats Chipotle hands down. *mic drop*

There’s a lot of debate about which is better, Tortacos or Taco Bar… and they are both excellent. I’m giving the edge to Tortacos! I find the meat, just a little juicier, and there’s more seating. It is a hole in the wall restaurant, in a not-fancy shopping center… but that doesn’t matter at all! I’ve only had the Tortas here, but if the rest of the menu is as good, and the 277 reviewers before me are telling me it is, than I’m confident in my review. The bread is soft and nicely pressed and toasted, the meat is simply succulent and flavorful! The use of beans and avocado, give it another layer of texture and flavor that is different, but delicious and satisfying. I should log out right now and head over there for one…

Somehow Gaithersburg has some of the best Cali-Mex food on the east coast. I’m not going to theorize how that happened, instead I’m just going to bask in the delight of being able to eat some of the best tacos on the wrong side of the country. As a Boston native, there’s a lot of places around town that serve«authentic Mexican food». They may be «authentic» but it tastes nothing like what I used to eat in the southwest. Most of the places in Boston are hardly palatable for me and taste way too plain. Tortacos brings the fire back into tacos. A small $ 10 bill gets you 3 large, meaty tacos and a fountain drink with a side of chips, a worthy trade in my opinion. I opted for 2 carne asada and 1 pollo on a corn tortilla. All the meats are flavored extremely well, but I think what makes any taqueria a taqueria is their salsa bar. They have the traditional red and green salsas as well as radish, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, and lime available. Everything at the salsa bar is super fresh. On the west coast Tortacos would be pretty average, but that’s because the sheer amount of competition there. On the East coast, its hard to argue that there are better places to get tacos. They are hands down one of the best places for authentic Cali-Mex tacos in the DC area. To top off all their credentials they serve horchata, a mildly spiced, sweetened rice-milk drink. Very few places seem to do tacos properly AND serve horchata. Nice work, Tortacos!

I spoiled myself with a meal from here before hopping back on the road home to CT. First impressions, Tortacos looks small from the outside but comfortably seated our party of 8 while there were also other guests in the dining area. I ordered myself the pulled pork sandwich, and the taco combo(fish, steak, and tongue) which were all pretty tasty and very good with the fresh toppings from the little salsa bar they had going on. I ate it all in one sitting which is something I’m proud to say I’ve done, conquering the bests of this restaurant! The service was good, and pretty chill. Simply throw in your order at the counter, pay, pick it up and ready yourself to indulge in complete satisfaction! Music was also good with a few tracks from Bob Marley hitting the air waves. Would most definitely return in a heartbeat.

L.O.V.E. this place. I remember when it first opened the owner would give us free food to try. I’m so happy to see it still in business. The Al pastor meat is by far my favorite. Whether in a sandwich or tacos, it’s delicious. Food is fresh and prepared on the spot. Staff is always friendly. Make sure you load up on the fresh salsa!

I read a lot of reviews about this place and it seemed like there were several people that liked Tortacos more than Taco Bar. I think I prefer Taco Bar. Tortacos has great service and the toppings bar is fresh. There are more places to sit at at Tortacos but nothing special about the food. Their chicken may be better than Taco Bar’s but I love Taco Bar’s pork(pastor) and nachos/chips.
