Hmm… why so many good reviews? This place is a scary dump. Yes it’s only $ 69 if you go during the week but it’s another $ 16.25 for a dog. With tax and fees it cost me, my gf, and our dog $ 95 for one night on a Monday. Cheap, yes. But for what you get it should cost half that. Place is really bad. Pillows suck, towels too damn small, water pressure terrible, 1980 zenith tv. It looks like it hasn’t been remodeled in 50+ years. Look elsewhere.

No, do not stay here! Go on past! This is not the motel you are looking for! no, no no. ignore this place! Why? I don’t want more people to find out about it so I can still get a room… Ok, seriously, this is the perfect place to stay while in Galena. Good inexpensive rooms. Great access to Galena. Easy in and easy out. The only negative is the traffic can be a tad loud, but that’s not the motel’s fault. Now go and pretend that you didn’t see this review and allow me the chance to keep getting a room!

I had been planning a short trip to Galena for 2 month’s was VERY happy. The rooms were perfect… nothing fancy but VERY clean. We had a room in the back which was perfect. open the door and walk the dog. Water pressure was excellent(for those folks who care). A fridge, cable… I would totally stay there again…$ 79.00 and just 5 minutes from downtown. After all your in Galena to see Galena not to stay in your room all day.

If you want to bring your DOGS, this is the place to stay. They are dog-friendly and have a beautiful area in the back to walk them. And it’s nice that you can park right in front of your room to unload/load. It was decent enough, but it’s only about three stars because it still is just a motel. The downsides were the traffic noise and it was very bright in our room all night… bring ear plugs and an eye mask. Galena is a great place to take your dogs and just walk around the historic town all day.

I love Galena, but look for a place to stay and it’s almost impossible to find a spot for under $ 100. The answer is to stay here! $ 76 for the night, clean room, parking right in front of your room, GASGRILLS for your use(ok, that’s not normal) swimming pool, and it’s 5 minutes away from downtown Galena. The staff were very nice,(GF asked for extra pillows and an extra blanket and got ‘em no problem). The key to exploring new places is to find cheap accommodations, and Grant Hills is exactly the type of place I look for when I hit town! Oh, did I mention they’re PETFRIENDLY?
