Wellll… nothing like being the last table(@ 8 o’clock) on a Monday night… eerie… As for the experience… Very interesting room with much character and a lot of the original building intact. Wish the food was as interesting… great sounding menu but… cold bread, butter and salad dressing served in little plastic cups, pork not very tender, wine glasses of poor quality… for the price of dining here, these things should not be an issue… We really did enjoy the smoked trout appetizer a lot…

This place was amazing! Trendy vibe, nice people and the food was delicious!!! Our waiter(Ticket says WILL) was super friendly and on point! The beer battered cheese curds were to die for… we came back the next day for lunch! Def make it a point to stop by this place, you wont be disappointed!

Had lunch here during a post-Christmas get away. It’s…ok. Poutine was inauthentic, but tasted ok for fries mixed with(shredded?) yellow cheese and a beige sauce. Beef stroganoff had very nicely done meat in an ok beige sauce with a dollop of dill sour cream(the dill flavor was a little odd). My husband had the bbq pork, which he did think was quite good. Service was ok. The waitress was very nice, but we also had a couple dirty glasses and a lack of napkins(the place was mostly empty; 11am on a Wed of Xmas week) I’ll go somewhere else next time, but you’ll be ok if you end up here.

We are in Galena at least once a month and we love to try different restaurants. One Eleven Main has been a new place for us on our list and honestly I had pretty high expectations because most of the restaurants on main street are delicious. We were definitely a bit disappointed overall. Some of the pro’s were the service was good, the décor was nice and we were seated quickly. Some of the con’s were the portions are VERY small for the price, it was a little loud inside and our food came out way too quickly. I ordered the beef pot roast and usually I always take left overs home but the portion was oddly small and barely any vegetables on the plate and they needed to be cooked a little longer because they were still tough(there were 2 carrot slices, 2 small broccoli florets and 1 brussel sprout). However, the meat and potatoes portion of it was flavorful. They give your table a small loaf of bread before your meal which is good. If you want anymore than they give you it’s a $ 1.50 for each loaf which is strange. Our server was very nice but our food came out literally(I’m not kidding) 5 minutes after ordering which I don’t like it being served that quickly. I like to enjoy my cocktail and relax before diving into any food. Overall, they aren’t in my top pick of places to eat in Galena. Maybe we’ll try it again down the line to give it a second chance.

We had a WONDERFUL lunch today and enjoyed our excellent service from Katie. We had the Mediterranean salad which was seriously amazing. It was loaded with lettuce, beets, carrots, marinated artichoke hearts, olives, goat cheese(I think?), and we added grilled shrimp. They were absolutely delicious! They give you herbed bread and butter which was good. We also enjoyed the portabella sandwich and garlic chips. The finale was the Death by Chocolate dessert. Wow. Wow. Wow. We will be back for sure!

Stopped by at 1:30 for lunch. Menus looked great. There were 2 parties ahead of us and we were greeted and told there would be a bit of a wait. We could see there was room at the bar and 3 empty dirty tables of 4. Thought we’d be seated as soon as tables were clean. We asked if we could sit at the bar and order an app. We were told no. Stood in the lobby and watched the dirty tables for 10 minutes while the host casually removed dirty plates. He found a scarf and walked out in the street to find the scarf owner while we continued to watch the dirty empty tables. 2 tables ahead of us were impatiently waiting while also looking at empty tables. Host came back into restaurant and casually set one table, chatted with customers leaving and could not have taken more time. With the lack of urgency to get any of us seated we moved along and told a young couple who were looking at the menu they might want to reconsider unless they had plenty of time to unnecessarily wait. Looked like a nice place. Restaurant 101 is never make patrons wait when there are visably plenty of seats available.

Overall not satisfied. The portions are too small. For average lunch its around $ 45 per person and you will leave this plase still hungry. We were waiting 45 minutes to get the food. The wine was good but food was not that great.

This was just meh. I like the concept of the place, sourcing local ingredients, but I didn’t find the experience of eating her all that impressive. The menu was limited and our server wasn’t really knowledgeable about their hot items and popular dishes. One of my companions and I both got stuffed pork, and it was just ok, and needed some salt to be edible. The portion was actually fairly small, with just a smattering of potatoes and carrots on the plate. My other companion had the ravioli, and while she wouldnt know a quality meal if it hit her in the head, she did say it was bland while too heavy on lemongrass. As a side note, I wrote on the reservation via opentable, as well as told them at the restaurant that it was my mom’s 65th birthday, and they didn’t even mention it or do anything special. Most nice restaurants will do something for dessert, even if they charge for it, which would have been fine. Price was reasonable, but would rather have spent that money at a more vibrant place.

We were there yesterday, 10÷11÷15 with a party of eight at about 2:30 p.m. We were seated promptly upstairs as it was not busy. Service was fair– Not very attentive and after we had finished our«meal», the server was no where in sight for over five minutes. Another staff member obtained the check. Two people ordered the brisket sandwich and it was very chewy and had a small amount of meat. My wife and I split the chicken salad sandwich, and found out it was JUSTHALF A SANDWICH, the bread fell apart and it had a minimal amount of chicken salad– for nine dollars!!! The pulled pork sandwich and salad were ok. Sandwiches are over-priced for such small portions. Not good.

We had our wedding catered by One Eleven Main in 2010 and it was great. We stressed only local options and the chef worked with us to get as close as possible. For years we have returned when in Galena. But, we won’t be coming back. Not sure if it’s because of turnover in the kitchen(the chef we worked with was fired for«creative differences») of if the owners have just gotten lazy, but our last meal was so bad that I could barely finish it. I ordered the«local» beef feature, which arrived almost inedible from gristle and topped with mussels. In a «local» feature in a Midwest town. Not local mussels from the nearby Mississippi river, but the shiny black ocean mussels you get from food delivery services. My wife got chicken saltimbucco that came out with some raw vegetables and looking like a deep fried chicken breast. She barely touched it. We also ordered the fondue which was soupy and disappointing. Our server told me that the owners were«taking feedback» on the quality of the fondue. Here is my feedback: it was awful. Coming to One Eleven Main used to feel like an elegant experience, made especially unique because it leaned heavily on the growing local food economy in the area. Now it feels like a bad hotel restaurant, and the price tag of $ 100 before tip only added insult to the dining injury. Best to save the money and just get a burger, or better yet visit a farmers market and cook for yourself.

Stopped in this past weekend for a quick break from the humidity. We sat at the bar for a couple of drinks and a snack. The beer selection was pretty good, with lots of regional craft brews, but I was very saddened by the fact that they had nothing on tap. That is, in my opinion, a cardinal sin against the craft brew gods, but the bottled beer I had was delicious nonetheless. My SO and I split the Greek salad with shrimp, and it was huge! While not the best Greek salad I’ve ever had, it had a variety of high quality toppings on it and was, in my opinion, worth the price. My only complaint is that the dressing was slightly bland.

Awesome place! Ordered cherry cocktail — so yum! Rosemary Bread was incredible. Shrimp was perfect! Steak the slightest bit over cooked but still good. Pasta is fresh. Ingredients are organic and many are from local farms. What more can you ask for?

Fresh and clean restaurant ! Love the chicken wing here so much!!! Not expensive comparing to the quality of fresh local flavor ! 111 salad is also recommended as well! For the rice lover. One menu i like is coconut curry rise, anyway ! I wish it could be a little bit more spicy than usual but for those who doesnt like spicy stuff. This will be a great choice !

My husband and I tried this place on a recent trip to Galena for my birthday. A lot of the restaurants in Galena have really weak menus with just burgers and sandwiches and mediocre cocktails. This place is an exception. They have a broader menu with a lot of good choices. They also have a lot of nice cocktails. My husband and I had some bloodies and they were quite good. Their prices are pretty nice too. I had the Croque Madame and it was delicious. It’s enough for two people to split. The fresh-made fries are really great. They went really well with the creamy Croque Madame. My husband had the«What he’s having» sandwich and it was awesome. It has so many pork products on it. So so many delicious pork products. Order that sandwich. Try this place on your weekend in Galena.

Came in on a Friday night, were sat at a table upstairs, but would have rather sat in the main dining area where there would have been better people watching. Also, at the end of our meal we were the only diners for 20 mins, it was only 8pm… made us feel very isolated. Anyway, service was great and friendly. We had the smoked trout appetizer which was excellent. I had the steak and shrimp which I thought was perfectly portioned and very tasty. I loved the blue cheese sauce over the steak and potatoes. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish which he claims«didn’t do it for him», but the andouille sausage that accompanied the catfish was a big win for the dish. We had the beer cheese soup too, amazing. We ended with the lemon blueberry torte which was a lovely, light dessert to end a good meal. The liquor selection was poor… no scotch listed on the menu at all. They may have it at the bar, but we didn’t asked and it wasn’t listed. We thought it was a bit pricey, but not too far off from what we felt it was worth. We’ll be back to sit in the main dining room next time we’re in town even if we have to wait. I definitely didn’t like sitting upstairs isolated from all the action.

This place was decent. The service was fine, I guess. The food was ok. The bread that they serve with the meal is the best thing they have. It was amazing. The texture was so perfect, and the flavor was to die for. I could have eaten nothing but that and been happy. That being said, everything else was just decent. It was good. However, everything we had could have easily been made at home, for much less coin. It wasn’t worth the price. They have a nice beer selection, with lots of local and microbrews available. However, they have literally nothing on tap. What’s up with that? We tried it. It wasn’t bad. We probably won’t be back.

You ever go to a restaurant and absolutely nothing on the menu speaks to you? Yeah, One Eleven Main is that restaurant. Not that it doesn’t try, there are a few pages of menu options but nothing clicked. It bills itself as «farm to table» but the kitchen’s execution I feel doesn’t respect the ingredients it brings in. My girlfriend and I decided to go with the duck breast with sweet potato mash as well as the stuffed pork loin. The duck breast was slightly undercooked for medium rare and was rather chewy considering. The real offense was the cloyingly sweet sweet potato mash. The pork loin, stuffed with spinach and mushrooms, was overcooked and lacked any real flavor. I understand that it’s Galena, it’s touristy, and kitchens don’t really need sustained loyalty as they will just get new customers the next week. But for entrée’s in the mid $ 20 range, I expect better.

Came here for a drink and app. Ordered the cheese curds and I really wasn’t a fan. Seemed kinda like an Asian style type of breading and the sauce was like soy. Cheese was fresh and good but not a fan. Gave this place 4 stars cause the bartender was extremely nice and made decent drinks. Also some of the other things on the menu looked good but didn’t get a chance to try it! Cut spot to hang for a few drinks.
