This is the best local place for authentic Mexican food. Everything is good. Have never had a bad experience here in all our years of coming. Service is always friendly. Love this place, always a go to for lunch or dinner.

Saw the reviews and had high hopes that I found a local spot to get my Mexican food fix. Food was very bland and wasn’t flavorful. My search continues.

I ordered a chile verde pork super burrito, and it was good but I didn’t have any chile verde sauce in it and there was a lot of sour cream so it fell apart. 2⁄5 stars because of the mess.

We had taken my friend’s mom to get a haircut and saw this place! We decided to walk over and give them a try! As we walked in… we were welcomed immediately and we were told we can sit anywhere. Spacious and simple little place. There was a young lady wiping off tables and sweeping so very clean, too! At our immediate glance… we could see that they had decent menu. They also offered freshly made juice bar or mochas. Besides the regular soda fountains they also offered the Mexican sodas in the glass bottles. Pretty cool. I had their burrito and it was good. Maybe a little on the salty side for me. That’s probably to most folks liking. The chips they give you was ok. They did offer fresh salsa bar. They give you a few choices. Mild, Hot, and Fire… and a green one. Sorry… I didn’t try it and could not remember the name. The people were were super nice. The young lady who took our order always made sure our drinks were filled. The lady who brought us our food came back and checked in. As we ate our food we noticed a ton of people ordering food to go! Some had already called ahead. They seemed to be busy! Overall…these folks work hard! Very friendly. Nice music in the background. Very inexpensive. Clean.

I ordered a regular Asada taco and their chicken soup. Before I ordered I asked how spicy the soup was and they said not at all. I was worried because I’m pregnant and my tummy is sensitive right now. They also have 4 Salas in their salsa bar. Mild, hot, and 2 fire. The Asada taco I ate there because I they messed up and gave me a small soup but I ordered and paid for a large. Good thing I checked before I got home. They were apologetic, friendly, and offered me a water while I waited as they corrected my order. I was starving so I ate the taco there and it was very good. Meat was tender and flavorful, I would order that again. I opened the soup at home, not much chicken but lots of veggies. I was eager to try it and smelled delicious. Spicy spicy spicy. Almost to spicy to eat. I won’t order it again at least not why I’m pregnant. Bummer. 7÷27÷15 Ok I need to revise my review a little bit. I decided to give the soup another go today and after sitting in the fridge for the night, I reheated and it was not as spicy today and had a good flavor. In fact I ate the whole thing and the broth was yummy as well. Next time I order it I will do for lunch or dinner the following day or perhaps could of just been my taste buds last night. Bumped from 3 to 4 stars.

Really authentic little mexican food restaurant. Waitresses were really nice and food was delicious. Very reasonable prices. We would definitely come back. My wife got a Margarita and enjoyed it but they don’t use tequila just fyi. All in all one of the better nor cal mexican restaurants we’ve been to.

I love the fact that this restaurant is family owned. The food is consistantly good, So many items to choose from there is something for everyone! The salsa bar is great!

This place got really good reviews… which is too bad, because the food was so bad I wouldn’t even give it a second try. We ordered the food for take out, and the tacos and chips were stale. Food was overpriced for what we got, and not as ordered.

Was visiting Central Cali. and went to this classic, authentic Mexican food restaurant. I ordered the carne asada or el pastor burrito(cant remember) with chile verde and it was really good. Perfect 10s all across the board. The atmosphere is nice, service was kind, and there is plenty of seating. Pair it with my girlfriend and her family’s company made this dinner perfecto!

My family and I have been eating here for years and the food is amazing. I highly recommend their Super Burritos and Nacho plates. They also have really great salsa with chips to eat while you are waiting for your food. The restaurant has a very authentic Mexican feel to it and it’s a great place to have dinner with your family.

Night and day experience this last visit! I wanted to try something different here… it appears they use Pico de Gallo for alot of dishes which are not traditional. Guess Rancheros were ordered there were grilled corn tortillas with an egg over easy on top of the tortilla then Pico de Gallo topped with cheese! Where was the sauce/juice that is traditionally served with this plate. I asked how they prepared there machaca… WRONG! They have shredded beef with scrambled eggs ANDPICODEGALLO! No tomatoes are added to that dish… .just seems like they are getting a bit slacked. I opted for the chorizo eggs n potatoes. It’s not a difficult dish to mess up but if that’s the case I’ll just stay home n make it myself. The freshly squeezed juices are normally a hit. The carrot and fresh oj had more carrots in it than oranges. Service was awesome but food was disappointing this round :(

My favorite place for Mexican food. Delicious and pretty prompt delivery to the table. No complaints. I usually get the lengua, they make it the best but today they were out so I tried the marinated bbq pork, it was stellar

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I have never been disappointed. The family is amazing as well as the staff. When my boyfriend and I first got together(years ago) and I brought him here for the first time, I thought to myself«if he doesn’t like this place, I don’t know if this relationship will work.» Lol!!! Thankfully it did :-)

it was tuesday after the galt flea market and wanted something to snack on so went on Unilocal and found this place. we walked in and looked at the menu and they had some lunch specials. the lunch special we got was beans with rice and one enchilada with a choice of meat. I chose the carnitas. the rice was cold. the bean was bland. the enchilada was good with the melted cheese. the carnitas was kind of dry tho. the chips they gave us was cold and kind of stale. the plus thing about it was there was an open salsa bar. green salsa and med and mild salsa. the service was ok and attentive. clean restaurant from what I observed. specious ok clean bathrooms. decent price on the food just the portion size wasnt big enough.

I’m shocked at all the good reviews, To start with our experience, I have to say, the place was pretty clean and the server was very pleasant. But, the chips served to our table obviously came out of a bag, also they had a self serve salsa bar that had three different salsa’s and tiny cups to put in. Tried all three and they were all bland in flavor, they started to get abusier after we got there, when some local firemen came in we thought wow! The food must be good, until I realized they weren’t too familiar where things were in there. I ordered one of the higher priced meals on the menu«chicken Fahitas» and my wife ordered the chicken enchilada’s,(I should of ordered what the wife had) Lol… I wished I had taken a picture of my meal to show the slop I was served, The small amount of chicken i did have, were so small and strange looking that we couldn’t even tell if it was really chicken, and the dish had a strange salty taste like it had soy sauce in it. My wife picked this place for her birthday dinner, I guess I owe my wife another birthday dinner to make up for this experience. Thank god my wife made some awesome Fahitas for dinner tonight, what’s comical is, I hadn’t planned on giving El Rodeo 2 a review until I tasted my wife’s Fahitas, and realized I needed to say something. I guess if you like mediocre food, you’ll be happy there… I just wish Galt would get some better restaurant’s, Extremely Disappointed…

Good food, great service, and affordable price After reading the reviews my daughter and I tried El Rodeo and were VERY happy with the food — delicious, generous, and prepared quickly; the service — efficient, friendly, and courteous; and the price — under $ 17 for two people. We brought the take-out menu home so we can take advantage of their catering service and take out. The restaurant is not fancy and the location caused a bit of concern, but the food was worth it. We had a couple of persistent flies who wanted to share our food, but they were easily dealt with.

While attending Galt High, I underwent a personal sea change that basically left me with a strong disapproval of all things bland and unoriginal. Take a ride through Galt someday and you will see why. Just make sure you don’t miss it. Or perhaps just keep going. Better yet, make a u-turn. It only gets worse south of Galt. Unless you have a lot of gas and a lot of money. As a young gal, I made these very esoteric teenaged friends as a result of shunning the ordinary and one of these friends, who I think was a member of some cult, suggested that our motley crew go here one day for lunch. We were always looking for something new and different. Even in Galt. This was in the 90s. Not going to Taco Bell, McDonalds, or Carls Jr. for lunch as a high schooler in Galt during the 90s basically made you a law-breaking, «the-man”-hating Punk Rocker. Seriously. So we went here and it was the first time I had a traditional taco. I had a burrito too. Both were great. No one spoke English either, which was cool. How do you say taco in Spanish? Taco. No problem. To this day, sometimes I do crave El Rodeo #2, which is NOT to be confused with the other Rodeos de Stockton y Lodi. And the taquerias in Sacramento simply will not do in these situations where I crave El Rodeo #2. I would drive to Galt for El Rodeo #2. The #2 part is important. Do not get it twisted! There is something about this one taqueria to me. It seems very authentic, and their food is consistent and tastes good every visit, no matter what. It’s one of the few things I’ll brave going to downtown Galt for: El Rodeo and surprising my Mom at work. Love you, Mom! Even though you try to act like you don’t know me. You may be wondering what my Mom looks like, and yes, you are right: I inherited my extremely good looks from my Mom. Thanks, Mom! These are good people. Check it out, and leave my Mom alone.

I was looking up great digs on Unilocal since I planned to visit the Farmer’s Market here, and this place popped up. I don’t eat Mexican food often, last time being over a year ago. Was in the corner of a lot, had a few worries that it’d be low quality and greasy like the last time I had Mexican food. The place isn’t too big, maybe 10 or so tables. The menu is popped with a lot of pictures above the counter and we got individual menus as well. The server was definitely nice and caught our cue that we were ready. Also explained which one the Lunch Special was and what several Mexican foods were eagerly. Fresh chips I presume, although I didn’t find anything special about them. The complimentary Salsa Bar was very delightful! Three types of Salsa with varying hotness, and three sides. Not too bad! The sides were decent, and the salsa was very good. I’m a fan of spicy myself, and I enjoyed their hottest salsa, even though my family enjoyed the mild salsa more. I ordered a Lunch special w/Taco(Rodeo special I believe), while my family ordered BBQ Ribs and a super Burrito. Fantastic! You can choose the type of meat you want(various types, score!) so I got Carne Asade, while the person who ordered the Burrito got Shredded Chicken. The BBQ Ribs and and the Taco came with rice, beans, lettuce on the side, and tortillas. Delicious! We shared some of the portions with each other and all agreed it was fantastic food. A few negative points — the server was a definitely nice and friendly, although I didn’t get any refills on my water the entire time. The portions(to my taste) was a bit small, and I felt rather hungry after eating my meal. Thankfully, we had someone in my family that eats little, so I took part of his portion. I’d give this place a 4.5. If it was a huge restaurant with a ton of reviews, I’d definitely notch it down to a 4 at best, but since it was just a side trip that turned out to be the best Mexican Food experience I had, all 5 stars for me.
