I really liked this place. Came here for darts and cider and fell hard for the beautiful wood décor, true pub feel! I will be back! Amy was so kind to open the lower bar for us to play darts at 2pm. Great place!

Murphy’s white pizza is amazing! I have been coming here for years and it’s definitely one of my favorite places to grab a drink and a bite on the island.

Three words: White Sauce Pizza!!! This will be the best alfredo based pizza that you EVER consume! They have specials during the week days for medium pizzas; which is what we pretty much lived off of in college. They also have a nice little selection of beers on tap. The bartenders can be hit or miss here but for the most part it’s a pretty solid place. If can get of of the bartenders to make you a PB&J shot those things are bomb! There are two portions to this bar, but it it pretty much holds true to the sports bar theme… just without many TVs. It has darts, trivia night, a jute box and pool tables.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Poor service. Tasked for a drink menu and got the response of ‘we have 30 something beer on tap’. Took about 15 minutes to get drinks. Food(palmetto cheese spread) was okay. Waitress needed to close out our tab immediately… didn’t ask if we wanted to start a tab. I will never return.

We would not come back here. The staff is rude. The pizza was fair but over priced. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from — you do not need to go here where they do not appreciate your business.

The only thing that I come back here for is the crispy hot wings — and only if it’s for a quick drink with the co-workers after a shitty day. Other than that — there are plenty other bars on the small island. The service is not great, it gets smoky, and the bathrooms aren’t that clean. I’ve gotten a few room-temp beers from tap, and when returned they gave me a look as if I made it that way myself. But it’s a bar in Galveston — what more could you expect?

Delicious pizza and drinks! Where else can you find this after hours on the strand? Love this bar!

Went here because the tremont rooftop bar was closed. Won’t be back. Bartender talked exclusively to the regulars and wasn’t friendly at all. Bathrooms were absolutely horrendous. Male bathroom had vomit all over the urinals. Women’s was trashed and looked like it had never been cleaned. Only positive was that when the bartender finally came and asked what we wanted, he was very knowledgeable of drinks.

My girlfriend and I were on the hunt for wings, beer and rum. We decided to give Murphy’s a shot, even with the 3⁄5 stars on Unilocal. We arrived 7:00pm on a Sunday, and the place only had a few patrons. This is important because I’ve read many reviews with poor service, and we had outstanding service. Bhuji, our bartender, made the experience what it was for us, he’s the reason for 5⁄5. He helped my girlfriend find a beer she(and I) thoroughly enjoyed; and she isn’t a beer person. He gave my girlfriend a few samples of some beers he concocted together and they were all fantastic. The one we both went with was a Killians with a Stout beer he mixed together and it was fantastic. Cheesy bread was great, not too cheesy, excellent. Then he custom made two different style wings for us(only hot was available on the menu) and the wings were phenomenal. I’m not saying Murphy’s will be your kind of place or that you can expect the quality of service and experience my girlfriend and I had, but we give this 5⁄5 hands down because of the service we received. Fantastic night for us.

This place hops, but the bar tenders do not. Beard man and his pink side kick would take about 5 minutes a person. Service was bad(place exploitative in)! They could careless, ask nice or be mean didn’t matter. Wait it’s just the beard that sucks, Pink lady was ok!!!

This bar has been a huge part of our family and even if it wasn’t, I would come here anyway! The food is fantastic, and even if you want something that’s not on the menu, chances are they can throw it together for you. The drinks are fantastic and you don’t have to wait very long. The bartenders are very well tenured and management is awesome. It’s a great place to visit during holiday weekends and special events. there is plenty of space although it can get crowded mostly because it’s such a local hotspot.

Came to visit from Austin for the weekend and boy was I disappointed. Bourgeois local pub from bridge and tunnel locals. Was sent here by some locals because they had the best pizza in town and apparently the only eatery opened past 8pm. Order a drink that was on“special”, I didn’t feel special after they told me the price. I went ahead and ordered myself«The Carnivore» pizza. This pizza advertised four different types of meats but was served with only two. The pizza was essentially a rebrand of a Tony’s frozen pizza available at your local grocery. The server chain-smoked cigarettes before practically throwing our pizza and condiments at us. If I ever had the pleasure of meeting this Murphy character I’d tell him to burn his establishment to the ground, take the insurance money and just retire with some honor left to his name.

Close to the worst service I have ever seen. As a visitor from out of town, I’m horribly disappointed that I wasted my time at this restaurant. I strongly advise against it.

When we visit Galveston Murphy’s is one of the stops we make. It’s a great place to grab a pint if your needing a break from shopping the strand, or waiting to board a cruise ship.

The only thing shitter than the dirty seaweed/trash covered beaches in Galveston at the moment, is the service at this bar. Walked in on a Thursday night… there were 8 people in this place, counting the bartender. He acknowledged our arrival by moving from behind the bar, to sit down on a corner stool and drink his own beer, check his iphone, and talk to one of his friends. After waiting a few minutes for him to serve us, he finally got off of his ass, walked over and begrudgingly took our order. Requested two beers… two shots… and the size of the shot he poured wouldn’t have gotten Tinkerbelle drunk. Save time and money and go to Molly’s instead. I would say that the service is better by comparison, but that would imply that I actually received service from this place.

Went back and finally tried the food and it was a lot better. We tried the pizza and I feel that it is one of the better pizza options on the island. The service was also a lot better than what we last experienced. We have been to trivia a few times and it can be pretty fun. They have two sessions on Monday night; one is at 6 and the other is at 9.

I don’t know who the hell Murphy is, but I sho’ nuff like his pub. …Probably more than the other pubs on the Island. There’s a full bar, pool, foosball, TVS airing sports, a jukebox, pizza and other items on the menu, a laid-back door guy, lots of seating, and the place is big; I didn’t even notice the other half of the bar until heading out the door. Not to mention, it’s a locals’ hangout so you’ll find a mixed, not-too-rowdy crowd. I appreciate that they had a few local beers on tap; don’t order wine because all you’ll get is Barefoot — my mistake. And unlike what others may have experienced, we actually had a really cool bartender who took care of us. Monday is Trivia night. On a creepy note, my old roomie worked here years ago when it was Conolly’s, and he informed me of some haunted tales. Eep!
