Went here because of other reviews — the owner Hal is very friendly. Texas Monthly awards abound. I had the spring rolls and chicken with noodles — both delicious and very reasonably priced.

Very good phở. I ordered to take out and rather liked the fact that the ingredients were separated for me to «build» my meal when I arrived home. This allowed me to skip the cilantro(which I really don’t like) and add as much or as little of the bean sprouts and other veggie components to my taste. The soup was absolutely delicious — not overly salty or conversely watery, but rather just right and flavorful. The egg rolls(Vietnamese style rolls) were crispy and tasty but a little different from what I’m used to at Vietnamese and Thai restaurants back in Toronto. These rolls were a little on the small size and not textured as I’m used to. Not sure if it’s different here or at home. My guess is the former, but I could stand to be proven wrong. Comments on the décor are accurate. You don’t go to Phở 18 for the ambiance! Even the name is a little strange to me. Particularly since there’s a Phở 20 not too far away as well. What gives with the numbered names I wonder??? Nevertheless, the beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious and I plan on returning to try other menu items.

Very authentic Vietnamese food – a flavorful phở broth and tasty grilled shrimp over vermicelli. Phở 18 was even better than the phở places I have tried in Houston. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Phở 18 was pretty disappointing. The fried rice was really bland and looked old. Definitely not worth the price I paid. Or really any price… Would not recommend.

Best Phở on the island, however not the best I’ve had off the island. The owner and his wife are always very nice. I go routinely. I’ve had their vermicelli, Phở, egg rolls, spring rolls etc.

The best Phở in Galveston. Skip the more commercialized phở places on Broadway and come here. Broth is so flavorful. Located close to Stewart beach park.

When i got there, it was 7:50, and the owner made the face saying that he needs to drive back to Houston and asked us to hurry up.(the sign front says it close at 9:00). When i told him that we have to wait for few more family member, he rolled his eyes and asked us to order first. And the entire time, he told us to hurry…:/ Pros: phở is good, like the soup, not much oil floating on top like many other places. ! Cons: rude customer services! I prefer a good customer service, so probably will not come back. But if you like good food, you sure should come and check it out :)

Yuk! Dirty! He likes to leave to drive back to Houston my friend told me but all he needs to do is change his hours to 8:00 and then he wouldn’t have to be rude to people walking in. I witnessed him approach customers coming in shouting«What you want»? I recommended they find another resturant. They left and he got to go home! Food is ok.

Word on the street is that it’s «probably the second best phở spot south of BW8»

One of the best phở I’ve tasted! The old man there is so sweet! It was the perfect remedy for a cold rainy day when we visited. I would go back.
