Being from Oklahoma, Sonic is a staple in my life and I was pleasantly surprised when I found a Sonic mere feet from the waters of the Gulf Coast. Pros: — it was on the beach and the view was amazing. — I ordered a medium Vanilla Coke and it actually tasted like a Vanilla Coke. Not all Vanilla Cokes are created equal. Cons: — the service was horrible. I first pulled into a stall pressed to big red button and waited while the screen read«we will be with you shortly». After a full 5 minutes I pressed the big red button and once again the screen read«we will be with you shortly». Looking around I noticed there were only 2 other cars in the stalls, but the drive through had several. Now that it was closing in on 10 minutes I decided to back up and try the drive through. Needless to say the drive through was not any faster and over all it took close to 25 minutes from start to finish to get a medium Vanilla Coke. I would not go out of my way to visit this Sonic, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Unless you have plenty of time to wait, you may want to visit one of the many other restaurants on the island.

I live here on the island and like to frequent the seawall, so I went here today to grab a quick meal for an impromptu picnic with my daughter. Needless to say our decision was a bad one. My jalapeño cheese burger was missing the jalapeños and was shorted a half of a bun. My daughters kids meal only had her hotdog in it, no fries as we had ordered. We were already at the park before realizing the negligent errors, and when you’ve got a hungry five year old– packing up and turning around isn’t an option. Shame on you Sonic! Shame on me for not holding up your drive through line to ensure that you did your job correctly.

Me and sonic have a love hate relationship lol I love the drink chooses, hot dogs and chilli cheese fries but there burgers are not good and their chicken sandwiches are always dry and over priced but I’ll still continue to come for the other items lol

Had a bad experience every time we come but I love eating sonic and happy hour but these people really should take their jobs more seriously. We pushed the button the girl comes on and asked us what stall we were on… uhhh how should I know ?? Then didn’t even give me gravy or onion rings. no bs a tablespoon of gravy !!

This incident happened in June but I’m still so annoyed with it that I decided to leave a review. My husband and I went to this location around 9pm because we were kind of hungry and it was right beside our hotel. My cousin and sister stayed in the hotel but they wanted two sonic blasts when we came back. We drove next door and we loved the view even though it was dark you could still see the ships in the distance. When they took the order we didn’t order the blasts because we were going to eat in the car and we would order them when we got done so they wouldn’t melt. We pressed the button to order Russian sounding women came over the speaker we ordered a foot long Coney and tots and drinks pretty basic. When the guy brought it out he was a young teenage looking guy but he couldn’t speak English and he seemed Russian as well… I’m just guessing they were Russian because of the accent but it may be different. We couldn’t ask him anything because he couldn’t really understand us and we couldn’t understand him I don’t remember what we had asked probably something about change and stuff. So he leaves and we eat and then we order because we’re about to head out and the women come over again we order the two blasts and we wait… well 15 mins goes by and we noticed a big group of kids had just came and sat down to order so they were probably backed up… 30 min’s went by and now were mad. We pressed the button and no one was coming through and were getting angry cause my sister and cousin are waiting forever for these two blasts and so we get fed up and drive to the drive thru window and that Russian girl opens it and we’re like we ordered forever ago and didn’t get anything and we ordered an oreo and m&m blasts and she takes the money and were just frustrated that they didn’t even acknowledge anything and me and my husband were aggravated with each other because I wanted to yell at them and say something but he just didn’t want to deal with it and then she hands us these two blasts and they look so melted like these were ours originally they just forgot they had them but we just said eff it and left and when we got to the hotel my sister and cousin were like«what took you so long??» So yeah this place really made the night horrible and the fact that so many foreign people seemed to be working there really bugged us.

I am so disappointed, with this place. The last two times we went there. I ordered the peanut butter, snicker blast. And tonight the berry waffle brownie blast. and both times no snickers and no brownies. What the heck pay almost five bucks and they can‘t even put the ingredients you ask least when you go to DQ you get what you order.

Views are amazing but it was such a contrast to quick service I’ve had at any other sonic I’ve been to. Parked and went to order but no one answered for a few minutes so we figured they were tending to the drive thru. We pulled in the drive thru line and waited about two minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were there. This was after the person in front of us gave up and left. Fast food has never been so slow

One star because you can’t leave zero! This has to be the worst sonic in the state! The second worst would be the other sonic in Galveston. We have given this sonic a few opportunities to redeem themselves after previous horrible trips, but they continue to fail miserably! When food is ordered it usually comes looking like they just threw the ingredients in the bag, shook it up, waited 20 minutes… Then brought it to you. That’s if you’re lucky enough to have your order even brought to you without having to remind them that you’ve been sitting there for 20+ minutes waiting for two drinks! People are leaving multiple stars because they have a ocean view?! It’s the Gulf of Mexico! It’s dirty, nasty, and stinky! Not to mention you’re basically sitting at the back of a Wall-mart parking lot.

It’s right off of the seawall, it’s a cheap fast food place what else could you ask for? Parking facing the Bay will yield you plenty of people watching antics that will take up your time. Service for 4 shakes that were half price after 8 pm was decent. My 18 year old son liked the big booty lady on roller skates that was here last night.

Not bad for fast food, it’s cleaner tasting than any other fast food burger joint on the island and the service is expedient although if you have an order that’s slightly complicated don’t be surprised when it comes out wrong.

The only thing this place has going for it is the ocean view. Service is consistently bad. No cherries in cherry limeade, they run out of things like malt for malts(and refuse to walk across the parking lot to get needed supplies at Wally World), they have no clue what is on the happy hour menu(and probably the entire menu), they are slow, etc. Yesterday, the kid who was taking out the garbage was dragging the bag on the concrete. The bag tore, and garbage spilled in the parking lot by the drive through. Did she clean it up? Of course not. She let the wind take care of it, scattering the trash to the beach and Wally World parking lot. I loved the response when I ordered a malt on Saturday and they were out of malt. «We should get some on Monday when we get our order.» Shows a lack of any management, especially when they are one of the few places that sell malts, and you could expect people to order them over the weekend.

Free parking to see beautiful ocean view. Affordable hot food that’s cheaper than all the other«touristy» places around. A table & chairs for walk up customers. Fun to watch the people on the bikes go up & down the sea wall. Just a stone-throw away there are steps going down to the ocean.

My problem with Sonic is how unbelievably inconsistent they can be from one location to another. Sadly this Sonic is consistent, but consistently awful. I’ve been here 3 times and every time there’s something unbelievably asinine that occurs. First visit, when we pull up the car next to us had been there 20 minutes with no drinks yet. I can deal with that. Second visit, we show up about 30 minutes before closing time and the employee on the speaker swears they’re already closed and refuses to take our order. Third time, today’s visit, I always order the Strawberry Limeaid Chiller and this location said this product isn’t offered anymore. I just had this same drink a couple days ago at another location. So I told her I’m pretty sure you still carry it. She again said no we don’t. I said it’s on the menu right in front me. She continued to try to convince me they didn’t carry the drink as I drove off. As I pulled away, I noticed every stall had a poster advertising this exact drink. What can you do? The location a mile away was happy to make the drink. At least Galveston has found a way to employ their large homeless population.

Worst sonic ever. Poor customer service, nasty drinks, poorly made, nasty stank bathrooms, tons of ordering lanes not working. Just awful. Go to the one closer to 45 instead of this one.
