I’m giving this place this many stars because it’s one of the few places in town that makes me feel like I’m a tourist on vacation, I come here for the experience… The food isn’t crazy amazing, nor the prices or drinks but you CANNOT beat this atmosphere it’s literally perfect.

Apparently they’re closed??? Very sad. From what I heard through the grapevine and observed driving by, they have shut down. My friend stopped by to try and schedule an event at Beach Hut and the owner said that it was closed… something to do with the lease expiring or not winning a bid to keep lease? don’t know. Just know that I haven’t seen a single soul there in a few days of driving by. V sad.

This is not the place to go for service with a smile. Employees and owner seem disenchanted. Owner sits on the bar smoking a cigar instead of waiting on customers, bussing, or bar backing. You order and pay for your food and drinks at the bar. Then you retrieve your food from a window and bring it to your table. Everything is served in paper trays that blow away if you let go of them. It’s tricky to be comfortable here while you hold your plastic cup and paper tray and try to eat. Then you are supposed to buss your own table. Burgers were a SAMs club frozen patty for $ 9.95. The homemade chips were very good. Limes were old. Condiment stand was dirty. Won’t be going back. 2 Burgers, 1 soda, 1 jack, tip =$ 37.50 during happy hour. Dead on a Friday.

The Hut is the best beach bar in Galveston. The deck is a great place to chill & hang out on a hot day. You can go take a dip in the ocean and then dry off on the deck, or just enjoy the view of the beach from the deck while sipping on some rum & cokes or whatever your beverage of choice. I have never eaten at The Hut, so I can’t speak as to the food, but I know that the drinks are strong and THAT makes me happy!

This is the best bar/restaurant we went to in Galveston. The food is very reasonably priced and so the drinks are also. The environment was very relaxed and fun especially with it being right on the water. I would recommend this place very highly!

For a quick, flavorful drink, and a laid back view of the beach, this place is great for that. The band playing on 8÷3÷14 was pretty good also. Nice addition. We plan on coming back in the near future when we have more time available in our day.

We had a party of eleven & the kids really wanted to go here to eat and play beach volleyball. We found a table(dirty) and asked if they had a rag so i could clean it off. After a cold stare, the guy goes over to another guy who was apparently supposed to be bussing tables but was more interested in talking to a lady in a thong bikini. Someone else finally comes over to wipe off the table, which had bird poop on it. i thanked him but he had absolutely no response. We decided to find another restaurant to have dinner. This place could be cool, but service and staff were awful. VERY unfriendly.

Fun place to hang out, get some happy hour drinks, and play some beach volleyball. Nice location and decent drink specials! My only wish is that that servers would be more friendly. Go on Thursday evenings for buy one get one free burgers. Kind of reminds me of concession stand-kitchen area, but at BOGO I’m not complaining.

I had a great time here! I shared a Toasted Almond frozen drink and nachos with my sister and it was so satisfying! It wasn’t very busy when I was here but we still had a great time overlooking the beach and chatting in the shade. I LOVE that dogs are welcome! I can’t wait to come back on a more energetic night!

Absolutely terrible. We were kicked out after having drinks and food because they said the birthday guy was«too drunk». Terrible atmosphere. Mean people. Never going back.

I always get exited about going to the Beach Hut because it’s a cool place to see good bands. But… I always quickly remember within minutes why I’m always aggravated by the time I leave. They are clueless about service at the bar. Two bartenders is enough at most places to get people their drinks without making them wait 22 mins. I’m pretty sure I was standing next to Joey N. When he told the manager he was waiting 20 mins for two beers and he didn’t seem to care or try to solve the problem. I myself was waiting for 17 or 18 mins before my friend was able to get service at the other aide of the bar. Bought one bucket of beer and left. This place is screaming for a beer tub. From what I saw people ordering, they could clear 50 percent or more of the bar traffic with one beer tub. Seems simple. And the shot specials are all premixed and most if the frozen drinks are premixed too. I don’t get it. It’s almost like they wanna be bad at serving drinks.

Cool bar… Very shitty system to order beer… Took 22 minutes to get 2 bottles of Budweiser… Good atmosphere I just didn’t want to stick around and wait for another 20 minutes for a beer so we left… Good Band…

The best thing that The Beach Hut has going for them is their location and atmosphere. They are on the beach(whereas everything else is across the road), have a great outdoor deck, beach volleyball courts, and live music. The food… meh, it gets maybe 3 stars. I had a burger, which was alright… satisfying, but nothing special. It came with chips that were made in-house. A lot of places that attempt this really screw it up… TBH got it right. Would it be better if the food were amazing? Of course… But I would totally go out of my way to come here on a nice day for a bite and their chill-out atmosphere, which is where they nail it.

The Beach Hut is the only bar/restaurant on the beach and we went during happy hour. They have a sign for $ 2 shots and when I ordered two and started asking questions the bartender showed me that the shots are the premixed kind, straight from the bottle(like Dekuypers Sex on the Beach). I just ordered a mixed drink from the menu instead and it was pretty good. My husband got a wells drink and beer for a nice happy hour price. We ordered the nachos and they were great for those who have been drinking. I agree with the other reviewers that this isn’t the place to go for amazing food however they should always do well because of locale.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!.. This is what is wrong with the food scene in Galveston. Frozen Hockey Puck Burgers… Great Value from Walmart. Frozen Bag Fries that are cold. Burgers and Blue’s? Yes… I got the Blues from eating the crappy ass burgers… It would be so easy to have fresh hand formed burgers made on a grill with the live music… Sad. so very Sad. I tried to send back my cold fries and the manager said they just made them… WHAT? Do they think I cant tell when something has been sitting for 30 – 45 minutes. Drink there maybe. eat there.NO…I live on the island and I’m so sick of crappy food made just for tourist’s that will never be back. SHAME on you! OH yea. the staff… not interested in anything but their phones… nice.NO.friendly…NO… The only good thing is you can bring your dog, but don’t let them eat the food… we love our dogs.

This place is great! It’s a huge patio, right on the beach with a beautiful view. Drinks are so inexpensive and they have a large selection with some specials. We had previously stopped at a touristy pier for food and drinks but of course, everything was very overpriced and watered-down. Rest assured, your drink will not be watered down here! Be careful with the kamikazes. This bar has a laid-back atmosphere and best of all, you can bring your dog! I was just wishing we knew about this bar sooner, and that I brought Chloe with me. Service was excellent and our waitress was a lot of fun. I did not try the food, but we were very satisfied with our drinking experience and will eat here when we come back.

I think the world of this place. In the four months I have lived in Galveston, it’s probably my favorite bar so far. The Beach Hut is located right on the beach, has live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s, a volleyball net, and the views are great. When it gets hot there is a nice breezy palapa you can sit under, and when that gets chilly there is a nice sunny spot to enjoy. The Beach Hut is also pet-friendly(on a leash of course). We rode our bikes over on Friday afternoon for happy hour and stayed until dark. There was live music and a fun time had by all. Then we came over again on Sunday to hang out again because we liked it so much on Friday. We tried a few of their different frozen drinks, as well as some of their specialty cocktails. The frozen drinks are just ok. They taste more like a smoothie, which they have as well for the kiddos. They have Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap which is a rarity in Texas(coming from Colorado this is a staple). The band that was playing on Sunday was awesome and got the crowd in on the fun. As for the food, it’s just ok. We tried the Chicken Fajita nachos and they were edible but nothing to write home about. The queso they use is good but the chicken seemed really chewy. I recommend bringing a jacket because it gets really cold in there unless you are right in the sun. Galveston wind is… awesome…not really.

It was a cold, grey windy day in Galveston. Unfortunately it was my only day in Galveston and I was the only on who was in the mood for a beach front beer. The staff were friendly enough but bored out of their mind since I was the only one there. Needless to say I moved on after one drink. Not too much fun given he circumstances but I’ll bet this place is a hell of a lot of fun on a warm day. It is the only beachfront joint in Galveston so I don’t see how it could ever suck. Two stars for my experience, five stars for what it can be so three overall since my less than fun experience was no one’s fault.
