Crofton Go-Kart Raceway

What a great time. This track is really fun to drive, plenty big and the go-​karts have plenty of speed. It’s a tad expensive, about $ 3 each time you go around the track, but worth going around a few times. Try it out!

Awesome place to go with the kids. My daughter who’s 5 really wanted to drive but she still had a blast. We will be returning.

It’s hard to fairly review a go-​kart track when you have a drivers license. My judgment is also clouded by the fact that I took the Beltway to get there. It’s hard to say «these cars are fast» when I had to do Warp 6 in a real car just to keep up with the flow of traffic. But, if I look at this through the eyes of «Brain Gremlin» (my five year old daughter) then I can say that this place is pretty cool.
Pros:
Huge track. There are a lot of winds and turns that help make the track feel a lot longer than it actually is. They definitely add to the «race» feel of it.
The double cars are surprisingly fast. We were able to hold our own against the single-​rider cars. My passenger spent the whole time pretending to throw banana peels and other Mario Kart weapons at the other cars.
Wait time wasn’t long despite all of the people.
Cons:
They charge $ 3 per lap. The one on Kenilworth Ave has a much smaller track (at least half as small), but you get six laps for $ 6. If this one is ½ mile and Kenilworth is ¼ mile, then you come out better at Kenilworth. Also, pulling into queue every lap to hand someone a ticket kills the «race» vibe. In theory, you’d just pull in to the «keep going» lane in the order that you finished and then pull out to continue racing. The problem is that people don’t have their tickets ready sometime and you end up with huge, insurmountable gaps between cars. There were a few times where person number one was a third of the way through the track by the time person two found his ticket. Not really a race in that situation.
There’s nothing else on site besides the track, so we took a break and went to Pizza Hut across the street. After that, we had some ice cream at Baskin Robbins and then came back to use the last of our tickets.

My family went here with a friend for some fun in the morning. It was actually really fun, and I wish i could do more rounds, but it’s not the cheapest activity. They charge you were lap, and if you guy a single seat or dual seat go kart. I don’t recall the price exactly, but as of writing this, it was about $ 3 a lap, so it adds up quickly, especially since it is so fun. They allow young kids to go on, but obviously with a parent and they need to be buckled in safely. I probably had more fun than my kids! Overall, I felt the activity was very safe and family friendly.

My husband and daughter love this place. The prices are reasonable and the line moves quickly. Perfect idea for a family outing on a nice day. They even do birthday parties!

So cheap, pretty good lap. Carts are not too fast, but sure you can have good time if you are in a group.

I visited Crofton go kart as a last minute date plan with my husband. The price for 10 laps and 2 single karts came out to about 50 bucks. This was my first time coming here and I have to say it was fun. Especially because we rode in the rain, we did a lot of drifting. The turns and cuts are plenty fun. I will come back.

My husband decided he wanted to go here for Father’s Day & take our son for the 1^st time. They had a ball! The prices were fair & I loved that as a gift to Fathers, they gave them a complimentary lap! We had fun, he enjoyed himself with our son. Even I got to ride/​race them in a single go-​cart. I wish my son’s bday was earlierin the year so we could have his party here.

My boys love this place. I do a lot of outdoor activities not by choice, but because I have three sons. These are the things I typically did not do before kids. Nonetheless, it is rather fun to race with my boys. Just a tip for the ladies… Do NOT wear lipgloss when riding. There are so many bugs out there that will attach to your lips… Smh!

We went here yesterday from VA. Not worth the trip. 1. The website is completely misleading. There are no helmets, no stock car type carts, no red painted lines, just absolutely nothing like what is pictured on the site. The kids thought we were in the went place. 2. You have stop and give a ticket in order to circle the course again, so racing is not really possible. We won’t be going back. 3. The website says there are snacks, that is not true either.

Went for my first time, and it’s was really fun! Good sized track. It’s $ 2.75 per lap, which I think is a great deal! Will definitely be back!

Really cool place to have a birthday party and just plain old family fun. The track is cool. It’s about 2.75 per lap per person. They even have a ice cream truck in the parking lot for soft served ice cream.

We had a ridiculously good time! Went with kids ranging in age from 5 – 14 and they all couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces. It is not a cheap activity, but definitely a fun way to blow through some $$.

Had a blast had such a great time. Make sure you wear shorts and tees or tanks. Management is so friendly and really look out. Can’t wait to come back again. Came Sat and back Sun since it was so fun!!! Brought kids from 3 – 10 and they had a blast!

I had a ball here! My daughter had so much fun she constantly talks about going back. The prices are reasonable and the track is fairly decent. My daughter and I rode in the car together, per the rules and we had a blast! The line was pretty long, but it moved pretty fast. My boyfriend and his son were riding alone and all of us were able to ride together during the same heap. For the four of us to do 2 laps, it was $ 21. It was well worth it! Definitely a fun time for everyone!

I took the kids here for the first time and decided I might as well join in the fun with them. I guess I picked a good day and time because it was not crowded and there was no wait. The staff was made up all youngsters but they were very pleasant and helpful. Like one of the other Unilocalers mentioned, dont wear your good stuff because the seats can be a little nasty. I got a black stain on my shirt and of course the rubber from the tire tread will get on your clothes but fall right off. One suggestion, dont wear flip flops because your feet will fall off the pedal. Overall I recommend and will be back!!!

I went here on 3÷23÷2013 which was my sons 18^th birthday. After we had a bite to eat in Baltimore we decided to go have a little fun. So, here is where everyone agreed. I have to say that I was pretty impressed. The track I normally go to is pretty small and when I first saw this track I was shocked. I thought that the track would be a little more slippery than it was but, it was just enough to have fun. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be but, they did have a nice crowd of all ages. I wish this place was closer to home. Go Karting is exciting but, the ride back home not so exciting. A good time was had by all and my son was happy so that made it even better.

First time here and its a nice size track

Crofton’s Go Kart Track was packed when my hubby surprised me with a trip on Saturday evening. A line wrapped around in two rows as kids, couple, and families awaited their turns. You buy a ticket per lap (a little more than $ 2 per ticket) and one to an attendent at the end of each lap.
The go karts don’t go too fast and definitely don’t accelerate at a dangerous rate, so it’s safe for kids, but still fast enough that adults and teens won’t be bored. The seats are grimy though, so when you get up there will be little particles of stuff all over your bottom and back, which stinks. Just make sure you aren’t wearing anything cute if you go here, because you will be ticked about that.
All in all, a fun little outing if you have a spare 30 minutes and are looking for a bit of fun and action!

Nice little spot to get your racing fix. Prices are reasonable. Wish the dang things would go a little faster… C’mon I’m trying to win a race here!
Located on Route 3, which for those unfamiliar with the area will seem like it’s on a rural highway. Just think of it as just outside of Bowie (5 – 10 minutes from it).
Service is decent and they are open relatively late.
