If you are an artist, if you think you’d like to be an artist, or if you just have a thing for hanging out with artists, this is your ultimate dream home. Located in an innocuous looking warehouse on 52nd street off Chinden/Hwy26, Quality Art has the most incredible selection of fine art supplies, frames, and craft materials that you have ever seen. It’s like a combination of my favorite 3 art stores in NYC. They have raw canvas and stretcher bars, art papers on a roll, computer canvass, archival adhesives, and paints and paintbrushes in every price range. They even carry printmaking/watercolor paper by the sheet(found my fave Rives BFK there!) If we were not on our way to another event, I could have spent hours there. They carry those hard to find brands and items that I usually have to order online. And the selection in every category is phenomenal. We had a chance to chat with one of their employees and discovered that QA is locally-owned and started out as a grassroots, mom-and-pop store. They now have a national presence and sell online as well. Prices are good and I’m sure they would discuss bulk pricing with you. What a treat to have an art supply store of this magnitude in our own back yard.

I travel all around the country visiting art supply stores, art galleries, art museums wherever I am. When I found this one I was excited because it is huge. I like to browse, get inspiration… Then I like to pick their brains. I have learned a lot by doing that. Today, at this place, I saved a bunch of money. I have never been received so coldly. There are a lot of employees but none of them seemed too busy. Not a single hello. Or a goodbye for that matter. I have a pocket full of money and I usually spend too much. Not today. I showered, used soap and everything. Never had that happen. Oh well. Great stuff in there, not much service.

I lived in Seattle and use to go to Blicks, but Quality Art is off the charts. Incredible selection and prices. I never caught her name but the cashier with the tattoos has been a great help every time I’ve been in since I’ve moved here. Super knowledgeable about products and techniques. I feel like a kid in a candy store there. Thank you.

Great place to order on-line for a large(usually 40%) discount. Well worth waiting a day. Best price value I’ve found in the boise area. Art lessons seem A little pricy with some restrictions

THeir shopper experience is not as luxurious as even a basic grocery store. It is truly a warehouse. BUT, the selection is enormous. They carry items for kindergarten teachers all the way to professional artist materials. In addition, their selection of premade frames is amazing. Their prices on mats for framing are exceptional. If you need anything about crafts or art, check here first. The money you will save and the selection is worth the time. Also, the employees do care about you, even though the 12 foot tall shelving and concrete floors are intimidating. But for a primarily online and catalog company, we are lucky to have them in town!

Excellent selection. Usually extremely helpful, knowledgeable staff. Problem with the client service received on our last visit as the sales register person made known that she was NOT happy that people were still coming in the store close to 5pm. Perhaps a tattoo appointment was going to be missed? Lovely staff and super experiences every other time I’ve been in. Looking forward to more of the same in future visits. Will leave without purchasing if the particular employee from today is working again when I arrive. Thanks for an awesome and well-stocked store!

I thought that I liked Hobby Lobby, but I LOVE Quality Art. They are so friendly and helpful there. The second I get $ I’m going back there. They help you with everything, and totally take the time to explain things to you. This is the best place. I was so excited about their sale in May, I went on the wrong day lol, at least I wasn’t alone, there were more of us who made the same mistake.

I’ve sent dozens of my friends & hundreds of former customers here — and will keep recommending it. Why? Let me count the ways: — They have supplies for every type & level of artist, from pre-school Crayola clay to fine oil paints — Fair prices — Excellent service — Astounding selection — Plenty of goodies for teachers(Ever needed a box of crayons, but all in the same color? Got it!) I’m primarily a paper crafter, and this was the only place in the area(at the time) I could find an ATG adhesive gun. I love Quality Art!

Great place to find art supplies. Paints, brushes, canvases, pens, pencils, markers, paper, clay and a whole lot more. This is more geared to the artist than someone interested in crafting supplies. There is no scrap-booking here.

If you are an artist and live in Boise, you probably already know about Quality Art. They have been around for quite a few years, happily serving peoples’ needs for art supplies, creative paper supplies, art books, etc. The only drawback to Quality Art is their location. It is kind of hidden behind a Maverick gas station on the West end of Chinden and unless you know where to turn, you will miss them. Once you are in their building though, you will be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff and a broad assortment of arts and crafts supplies to choose from. I had to make a trip there recently and though I got there after they were technically closed, they still let me come in and get a couple of things that I needed for an upcoming project and were happy to help me. Another thing to note, if you are an educator and have a school ID of some sort, you get a 50% discount on your purchases. You do have to show a school ID though, so don’t forget to bring it.
