meh… Decent soup, but really… over $ 7 for a pint of soup and a day old piece of bread(incl’d tax)? Another $ 1 and you’re at NYC prices… but this ain’t NYC! Whats the world coming to? This soup should be $ 5 and come with an apple, etc. Not sure i’ll be back — unless I have to due to limited options in area. 2÷10÷16: response to owner: I’m all for supporting the small biz owner and I know its tough to run a biz these days, but the consumer also has a say… that’s what Unilocal is all about. Just my personal review… my opinion, as I said the soup was good, but I hate to tell you — my bread was stale — hard and crusty. Maybe they are sitting out too long? and you should offer butter packets — just trying to make a meal that would fill me up for north of $ 7. I noticed you used to give a piece of fruit but no longer. A pint of soup is just on the small side when for $ 8 you can get a chinese lunch special. I do wish you well… the above is just my personal review — I will bump up a star for being responsive to your review which does say something.

Was craving some soup and came across this place. I must say its really good! I had the turkey a d swiss with whatever came with it and a king chicken ranch soup. Ahh amazing! The best part is that you can try a sample before purchasing which is a plus. We will be back!

Fantastic eats, best place to get lunch in Garden City! The owner and chef is a culinary genius with soup. Every day there are different freshly made flavors with a little something for everyone; from the low fat vegan and chicken stocks to the cream based soups. My particular favorites are the vegan split pea, the white bean garlic and the mushroom barley. And best of all, free tastes! They offer combination specials with the soup that I pair up with a grilled chicken wrap that’s all fresh made to order.

Perfect for lunch and taking home for dinner. All the soups are great but the Gumbo is spectacular. I just returned from News Orleans and was looking forward to the gumbo there. Ken’s is by far better than any I tasted in the Big Easy.

Awesome, NOthing special, but the food is really good. It’s awesome that you can try to soup before you actually buy it. I had the chicken francoise soup and new england clam chowder with a turkey swiss wrap. It’s cool that it has a very new york feel to it, but its in long island. I would definitely eat here again.

Awesome food. Whenever I’m stuck with the decision on where to go for lunch I always choose this place. I always get the wrap/soup combos. Gumbo is the best! When in doubt come here for lunch.

Great Staff. Very friendly. I’ve been going here for years and every time I go I receive an awesome welcome! As for the soup, it’s amazing. I brag about it like he was the«soup nazi» from Seinfeld. so delicious. the wraps are great as well

Honestly hands down by far the best soup I’ve had. I love their wraps as well. Everything has so much flavor and everyday it is always something new. I could seriously eat from this restaurant everyday and not get bored. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and courteous. The owner of the restaurant even offers free soup after purchasing a certain amount of soups, I think after 5 you get the 6th free, I cant remember so don’t quote me, I always lose my card. I would definitely recommend everyone to stop in and try out some of their yummy creations, you will not be disappointed. The only downfall with this place. I wish there were more locations locally to me. You need a good place like this to eat, especially during lunch. Whenever I am in the area I make sure to stop in a pick up some soup for the house as well as that moment. Thanks guys you rock!

ummmm WOW? I have been in the Garden City area for 4 years now, but new to the NY Soup Exchange. This place is amazing! I’m actually eating the Vegetarian Sorrento Spinach & Lentil as we speak! You can order online — & they deliver. I have been ordering from The NY Soup Exchange on and off now for 4 weeks and the variety of the soups is fascinating. There is always something fresh and new daily. I can’t say enough about this place, you must try it for yourself. Highly recommended…

This was my go-to spot in high school. They have undergone many renovations since then, but I’m glad that the quality of the wraps and soup has not changed. The staff is always really nice and allows you to sample the soup before you decide. I had the crab corn chowder and would highly recommend it. The chicken greek is my favorite wrap, but if that’s not your thing the chicken caesar wrap is just as good. They also give you a piece of fruit with your combo meal. They’re only open for lunch, and close at 4pm!

Best place I’ve found in the area for lunch. They have soups, salads, wraps, and some hot foods like burgers and fries but I’ve stuck to the soups and wraps. The wraps are pretty basic(usually just meat, lettuce, tomato, and dressing) but are a decent size and tasty. I like the Thai Chicken and Buffalo Chicken. The soups are EXCELLENT and the best I’ve ever had at the typical lunch restaurant. Tortilla soups, gumbo, sweet potato chowder, chicken and corn — all great. I’m a value guy and you can’t beat the value either. $ 9 after tax for a full wrap, cup of soup, fruit(stick with the banana) and a good-sized piece of bread. I’d expect to pay like $ 13-$ 15 for all that normally. 5 stars for being both delicious and fairly priced.

Was feeling under the weather at work today so I decided to order soup to make me feel better. My coworkers also ordered. We were really happy with everything we ordered and the service was quick. I ordered the split pea soup as it was vegan. it was delicious a little bit salty but still tasty. The only thing that had me confused me about this place was they«freshly brewed iced tea» I ordered lemon iced tea and they just sent me a snapple LOL! Still a great lunch option for me!

I guess I ordered too late and they didn’t have what I ordered. No smoothies and no fruit salad. I don’t suggest ordering online from here without calling first. They called me back promptly to let me know they didn’t have what I ordered and offered replacements. I’m happy they called fast, but still incredibly disappointed they didn’t have what I wanted. I ordered a fruit salad and a smoothie, in return because they didn’t have what I wanted(and since I’m allergic to shrimp and had to decline the shrimp soup) I got a «vegetable soup» which consisted of a cilantro laden broth devoid of all flavor except for a spicy kick, a piece or two of carrot and celery and maybe a tablespoon of couscous. Will I order from them online again? Probably not. I will although pop in one day early and see what they have… because I still want my smoothie and fruit salad. They were nice and delivered fast but the quality of the soup was sub-par. It could have been that I ordered at the end of the day, but if so then ave a cutoff for ordering online.

I am a soup fiend! So glad I found this place in my daily travel adventures. It’s so nice to find a local spot, talk to the owner and ask him questions about his business. I walk in and it’s a quaint shop. There is a TV board showing the daily specials, I got there before the lunch crowd and was able to ask my questions: Is there a repeat punch card? Is there a ½ wrap and ½ soup combo? More importantly, does the Unilocal Duke eat for free? I see the owner and see the owner serving up his soup.(You know I friggin’ dig that!) I tell him it’s my first time here, is there secret handshake? He came right back with something so that’s how I know. Its like he’s a Goodfella, he’s one of the normal, hardworking folks like myself. I tell him I really like the seafood soup but that Gumbo is calling me. He tells me its the best in the house, spicy and his personal favorite. A pint comes with a piece of fruit and bread for $ 7 bucks. Now, in my travels I see a lot of these types of stores. My favorite in NYC is Soup Spot, right by MSG. For $ 5 bucks you get the same deal and they have 30 soup offerings. While online I’m reading his Bio, Johnson & Wales culinary grad and made his bones in Texas and Montauk? Pretty impressive I’m also impressed with the soup! I’m eating and typing this up now. Its the first snowy day for winter 2013. I ordered the gumbo and its flavorful, bold and spicy. A nice stick to your ribs type of meal. I’d like to make a suggestion. There is a tea place on Seventh ave. I think you, Mr. Owner should introduce yourself to her. .Another nice small business owner. This type of store needs a homemade, fruity ice tea to complement the soups you have to offer. I’m over 40 years old, I ain’t drinking Monster cans! Overall, my experience was excellent and I will be back to try more of the great soup offerings at the NY Soup Exchange

We had been looking for a new place to get lunch at work and found NY Soup Exchange through a groupon deal. They’ve been around for a long time but sadly I never knew about this wonderful spot making the most delicious and fresh soups and stews. They have a few burger options, some wings, a variety of salads, wraps and of course soup. All of their food is made daily using good quality fresh ingredients. I recently got their Arroz con pollo soup and tuna wrap combo($ 8). The soup like all things here was freshly made and deeeeeelicious! Nice spice and lots of chicken. The tuna wrap, again freshly made, was nice and light. Crisp veggies and the right amount of mayo. I’m glad we found this place, it’s gives us another option for lunch. And a tasty one to boot.
