I gotta tell you, Steven Rascon has got some serious lines! I walked in and he really hooked me up. I got a golden rectangle (look it up) and he absolutely nailed it. Lines were super straight and solid. Couldn’t have had a better experience anywhere! Thanks man.

Kurtis did my first tattoo. It’s lettering in Hebrew, and let me tell you it’s clean as fuck! He made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process, and responded to all my silly questions. Very awesome place I definitely recommend!

The only place I will get tattooed in OC! Friendly, mellow and creative environment always. Kurtis is a true professional that is passionate about the arts– and it shows in his work. I’ve been getting all my tattoos exclusively from Kurtis for the past 5 years and will continue to for many more to come. The new studio’s layout of half art gallery/​half tattoo studio is unlike anything I’ve seen before and makes for a unique and fun experience for all ages.

This art gallery is genuine and tasteful. Local artists are able to showcase there works in a large and beautiful open space. I’ve been twice and both times the work has been very well displayed. Kurtis is a great guy and wonderful artist. I highly suggest setting up an appointment to get under the gun with this guy, but if that’s not your deal then I suggest coming down and checking out what some of the local artists are up to. Come, be inspired! Everyone can enjoy art, even cavemen drew on the cave walls. No excuses. Check this out.

Even if you are not in the market for a tattoo the art in this gallery is worth the trip. They are always featuring new artist.
The owner of the shop (Kurtis Gibson) is very personable an amazing artist and he smells good.
I have been working with Kurtis for many years I have his art on my walls and on my body.

The artists’ talent here is phenomenal. Kurt and Steve are both great at what they do. Their hospitality is what makes them memorable. You can have a good artist but a crabby attitude. You won’t find that here. This studio is the place where you want to go for awesome work and outstanding hospitality. I will definitely go back.

Black Umbrella has been a great addition to Main Street! I have received all of my tattoos from the owner, Kurtis Gibson! He always has a comfortable, clean, and welcoming environment to be tattooed. I appreciate his talent! I also own a few pieces of his artwork, as well as one custom painting he did just for me! Black Umbrella is a fantastic idea founded by a beautiful family who mostly wanted to see more art in the world. With featured artists in the gallery in the front one can see several different types of art created by local artists. Kind of a cool little segue of artistic inspiration. I have several tattoos from Kurtis and I love them all. They all have a special meaning to me and it makes it far more enjoyable that they are well done by someone I like.
If you’re looking for a place to get tattooed go check out Black Umbrella. It’s very clean and Kurtis has plenty of experience as an artist and manager of a shop.

I have gotten my last few tattoos and cover ups by Kurtis. He is professional, worked with me on the placement and if I wanted any changes. Tattoos are very personal and art you carry with you everywhere you go. You get what you pay for and quality and the ability to work worth the tattoo artist to help get exactly what you want is very important. I get nothing but compliments and interested parties asking about my tattoos from teenagers to people in their 70’s. I can’t wait for my next consultation.

Kurtis Gibson is a fantastic artist. I’ve been going to him for my work for years, and I am completely satisfied with every piece I have. He is an artist that puts care and dedication into each piece of art he creates. I would highly recommend seeing him for any tattoo work you plan on getting done.
The shop itself is very clean, and very well kept. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and all of the people working there are very hospitable. The shop is pristine in terms of cleanliness, and sterilization techniques are thoroughly implemented. I highly suggest Black Umbrella for anyone who is thinking about getting work done, as it is a clean, welcoming, and beautiful art studio.

Steven Rascon is by far the best tattoo artist I have EVER worked with (and I am heavily inked). He is super professional and an all around good guy. My experiences with him have been superb! Steven Rascon is a great artist. I’ve had two tattoos done by him and my girlfriend got one done by him as well. He was very patient with us on our ideas. The finished outcome of our tattoos were EXACTLY what we asked for! The outline was straight and solid all the way through. Shading was pretty much flawless. I really liked how the colors popped out and are bright. The tattoos healed great also. It looks just like when he was freshly finished doing them. I am going back to him possibly within a month to finish my chest piece. Ask for Steven Rascon if you want a great tattoo at a good price.
