Ordered the«super boiler wings» $ 6 for four wings kinda pricy considering I only agreed to pay that amount because according to them they were super spicy, the taste was more like honey BBQ. I wanted oysters, they were out! I wanted a Martini they were out of alcohol! They have taco Tuesday but only ground chicken or ground beef. They only add on tortilla, but needless to say they were actually good. The server was sweet, Not sure if it was the owner or the manager, he offered us a bigger table, he was a sweet heart too. Ps the water in the bathroom changes color which is exciting to watch!

Best time to go is during their awesome happy hour, otherwise it is more of a large plate place. Bring your friends for non happy hour because you get 10 eggrolls on the appetizer plate! Waitresses are very friendly and wear a smaller amount of clothing!

Came here during happy hour. Good price. I was one of the few people that were there early so service was attentive and they made sure I had everything I needed every once in a while. I got the calamari which was too crispy and didn’t taste that good. Edamame was alright. I did come to the place to do some work. The music was loud but perfectly fine for me. The wifi, however, was extremely slow. The place is perfectly fine if you just want to drink and hang out. OK place for something in OC.

This place has a very awkward vibe. It’s as if you somehow ended up at a friend’s friend’s friend’s place to have a drink, and you instantly regret going 2 minutes in. The interior has a dungeony feel with big blasted out speakers set up against a few walls. I think it borders being a low key restaurant lounge, but definitely needs some love. Anyway, me and the GF decided to go here because she was craving oysters and she heard they had a good happy hour. Well, they ran out of oysters, and because we already felt committed we ordered some apps. The wings were ok, nothing special, and the fries a little dried out/hard. We finally felt a little relieved when a few parties showed up, since we were no longer the only ones there. It gave us the perfect opportunity to scram.

Rex whovever he is was said he was the owner, he put himself out there like a business man, he said he was business man and the owner of the place. He hooked us up, but is cousins BERNAND, he talked crap about us and said we’re basic girls and we don’t want to hook with him, so he talking crap about about me and my friends. We even confronted him and he said he didn’t say anything. Bad business!!! Extremely bad business. I hate ppl like that! OMG don’t go here unless you what to be harass by the staff and their people. So I’m basic because I don’t want to hook up with him and suck his has parts? I’m sorry, but I’m married and have a child at home. I don’t think he wants a step father like him.

Service was awesome… Amber took care of us. She came back several times to ask if we needed anything else. She’s fast and efficient. Food was pretty decent. We went there for HH and their prices were totally worth it. Normally restaurants go lighter on their drinks during HH, but this place makes their drink strong in general. I got pretty buzzed of one lychee martini… definitely try that one. Atmosphere seemed legit. They got TVs going and music. It’s a chill vibe. Definitely can watch sports event here.

I dropped by here w/two Vietnamese women, but we were a bit skeptical because Unilocal said it was a sports bar. What we found out is its a quan nhau(Vietnamese drinking place), that not only has great alcohol prices from 4 – 7, but also offers a lot of nhau(drinking food) at HH prices. Boiling Room is located on Brookhurst, just North of Lampson in GG. In addition to two bottles of Grey Goose($ 100/each — HH), six of us ordered(we met 3 other people here): Oysters($ 1/each — HH), wings($ 1/each — HH), garlic fries($ 3 — HH), scallops, bo luc lac, mussels, fried rice, clams, oc(snails in coconut milk), and mango calamari salad. I forgot how much some of the items were, but my 1⁄6 share was very reasonable. First of all, the items that stood out the most was the fries and clams. The fries were crispy & hot. But a downside was they were not garlicky enough: 4 Stars. Likewise, the clams were tender and not overcooked. The only downside was bread should have been served to dip in the broth: 4 Stars. Lastly, the remainder of the items were 3 Stars. Regarding the service, it was outstanding. Our waitress Amber was super nice and attentive. We also met one of the owners, Rex. He was super cool and helped take care of us: 5 Stars. Additionally, the ambiance was pretty good. There is a cool bar to your right when you walk in. To your left are a couple of high tables, regular tables, and lounge type seating. As an added bonus, Rampage Jackson was in the house: 4 Stars. Yeah, there is better nhau food in the area. However, I know of no place that has $ 100 bottles, and treats you like royalty. Additionally, the crowd is mixed vs most quan nhau that have primarily Vietnamese clientele. Boiling Room is definitely on my list of places to come back to soon.

I came here with 2 friends on a Sunday evening and it was not a good experience overall. The bartender was very slow in making all drinks — one drink came out, then 10 minutes later the second, and then 10 minutes later the third drink. There were only 5 people in the entire place! Then, my friend found a bug in her martini! Ew! So gross! As for food, we ordered appetizers(garlic fries, calamari, and edamame). The garlic fries had barely any taste of garlic, the calamari was stale, and the edamame was sour(like not fresh, old, rotten)!!! We brought all this to their attention, but the waitress nor manager did not do anything to compensate. Bad and gross experience all around. I hope I don’t get sick after eating here. The only positives were good music and led lights in the bathroom. That’s sad since it’s a bar and grill.

This place sucks. I arranged a get together with several girlfriends on a Friday after work. The website indicated they open at 3 pm. I had arranged a 5 pm meet up. I even called the week before to confirm they were still open(you know how posted hours are not always accurate) and the man welcomed us to come. When we arrived the placed was closed. When the door was opened we went inside but we’re not welcomed and in fact were ignored. A lady eventually explained that they had opened late that day because they were having some work done on the place. Looking around, it could clearly use some work. The place looks old, dirty and dated and not in a trendy way. She took our orders for drinks and food, saying she had to serve us because we were there. It was pretty rude all around. You would think they would put a sign out letting customers know the hours of service had changed? Or approach us and explain the issue as soon as we got there. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome but were trying to make light of it. The drinks and food were mediocre to excellent. My one girlfriend wanted a wine cooler and the chick taking our order says she had never heard of it. Really? You are a bartender(as I later learned and never heard of a wine cooler?!). I suspect she was being difficult because she didn’t want to serve us. My girlfriend got so flustered she ordered a glass of wine instead. I had a specialty cucumber martini that was good. This place serves a very good calamari. It was tender, crispy and spiced right. The wings were yuck. You can get the same chicken wings in the freezer section of the store for much less money, so don’t bother. Will I go again? Yes. I did, and NONEVER again. The lady behind the bar WAS the lady who took our orders last time. She lay a napkin for me and proceeded to ignore me. What a stupid person(me for giving the place another try, and the bitch for lacking any business sense). There were four other people with drinks in the room at the bar. She did not ask what I wanted and spent about a minute or so cleaning a wine glass. She really cleaned that glass well, polishing the surface, holding it to the light. Makes an educated woman wonder how clean this place can be if the stemware needed such scrutiny, right? I guess she recognized me and didn’t care about trying to make a better experience? So I left and will not return. There are many very good restaurants in Garden Grove, and this is not one of them.

The manager, Amber is awesome. She has a great staff and makes sure the customers are happy But the best part … the mango habanero wings. Spicy, but not too spicy. If you’re in the area and need a good bar & grill, be sure to give this place a try.

This is a good happy hour pace. It is definitely different from the more crowded bars. Pros– awesome prices on drinks and appetizers. Cons– probably need 1 or 2 more servers for the tables. Most are focused on the bar section

I used to come here to function with the group almost every other week. We would fill up half of that place easy. We all would come from different directions of Cali. From the LBC to the SGV&OC. If you have a soft voice, I say skip this place. Music is so loud sometimes we have to scream into each other’s ears. It’s a chill atmosphere. Never had any problems here unless someone party fouls & spills their drink. My heels & wet floor do not get along. The waitresses are pretty nice & I think everything is fairly priced. I’d love to swing by here again one of these days. It gets packed some days. I mean full house but regardless, it’s an enjoyable joint.

Very great happy hour menu. We came here for the oyster happy hour, but they were out. Endend up getting non happy hour prices on kumamoto oysters. They were very good. Service was great. Will be back again hopefully next time there will be happy hour oysters.

This was my first stop after coming from John Wayne airport. Apparently this place can get pretty crackin’ on the ‘good’ nights. I came on a Monday night, so it was pretty dead at 9:30. Apparently it was happy hour, and so most drinks and some appetizers were half off. I was in the mood for some wine so I ordered their house cabernet. My boyfriend and other friends ordered beer. For snacks, we got garlic fries and fried calamari. Garlic fries were decent, but in my opinion, could have used more. The fried calamari were pretty darn good though. Especially their«special» sauce which taste like spicy chipotle. I also ordered oysters which came in 3. It wasn’t good which I already expected from a sports bar. Please avoid ordering if could. Service was alright. Our waiter was nice, but seemed pretty clueless and lacked the«good waitress instincts.» The place is pretty big and it’s a nice place to get drunk and do karaōke. The type of bar worth getting trashed at.

So I came here on Tuesday for Happy Hour with my friends around 6:00. First of all our server was awesome and we received great service. The happy hour menu was a decent selection and on Tuesday are $ 1 Tacos. We ordered Baked Mussels, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Chicken Wings, Calamari, and Oysters… My issue with this place there is no «Employees Must Wash Hands Sign» in the restroom, so I guess it’s not a policy there… After I finished with dinner I walked into the restroom to wash my hands and saw an employee(Older gentleman wearing a baseball cap and a apron) at the urinal stall. After using the restroom, he walked out of the restroom without washing his hands, went behind the bar and began organizing the clean glass wear. Then walked into the back kitchen area and who knows what he touched back there.

I couldn’t resist but to write a review for Boiler Room. First and foremost, the staff at Boiler Room go above and beyond when it comes to hospitality. I come here on occasion to unwind after a long busy week. They serve Vietnamese bar food and hot pots, I’ve only had a few dishes from here and they were all good. It’s not about the food for me but more about the friendliness and carefree atmosphere. The best part is the drinks are reasonably priced! Boiler Room reminds me of the show ‘Cheers’. «Where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came», because it’s exactly how they make you feel when you walk in. Everyone greets you including the security guys. Rex and Charlotte working behind the bar are the most friendliest people you’ll meet. They will walk around the bar to greet you with a hug or hand shake. No matter how busy they get, they make time to stop and chat with you. You can’t get hospitality like this in most places because people are too busy trying to make a buck off you. What more can you ask for at your local watering hole? Good food, good alcohol, and great hospitality.

I came here during happy hour with the intention of getting oysters. I ordered a dozen, along with baked mussels, wings, garlic fries, and a lychee martini. Turns out they were out of oysters(booooo). The prices & selection are good, but the food is a bit on the salty side. The service was great. They kept coming by to make sure we were doing okay, which I appreciated. Music is playing throughout the place, but it was kind of awkward because we were the only two customers in the place.

So my friends and I came here a few weeks ago to meet up and hang out. It was my first time there and I have to say. ehhh. I wasn’t too impressed. The place was spacious and clean. but that could be because we went on a Thursday and it was raining. but anyway, their service was good. but their food could’ve been better. We ordered a few dishes and drinks and our bill came out to be $ 150– $ 160? I couldn’t remember. but for the food that we got. it was definitely not worth that price. They are not cheap on the alcohol though. they really pack the alchy in them drinks. so if you’re looking to get some bang for your buck. this place is for you. Too bad for me. idc about alcohol much. actually I’d prefer LESS alcohol MORE fruit flavors lol. My friend did order their steak. Why he ordered steak at a place like this. beats me. but he did. when he got it. he had to ask for it to be reheated. He is not one to complain. EVER. but this time. the steak was actually really cold. so they brought it back in and reheated it for him. When he got it back. it was definitely warmer but he was still not satisfies with the steak. A good thing though. was my friends really liked their raw oysters. so thats a plus! Will I be back? mmm maybe if it was someones birthday or a special occasion.
