This is by far the best authentic Pakistani/Indian restaurant in orange county, probably even in Southern California. The food and selections are amazing. The décor is average but its always very clean. Staff is polite. The sunday brunch from 11 am to 3pm is my favorite. In it they have puri, halwa along with several good lunch dishes like nihari, biryani and palao. Highly recommended.

So far, best Pakistani Restaurant not just in regard to food quality but also cleanness. The mix tandoori platter is really good. The Karahi lamb, bhindie and naan is amazing.

I would not even want to give single star… worst place to eat if you are vegitarian and 12 $ for buffet is way too much with very less choicea of food. I will not recommend to anyone ever. Not gud service either.

Wow. This place has been around for some time and I never notice it. My friends raved and here we are. First the goat biryani was so tasty and the goat was not strong. The basmati rice was so light and tender. Second the Dol Tarka. A mixed lentil stew so hearty and flavorful. Third the Aloo Banguin or Eggplant curry. So refreshing and not overcooked. And finally the paratha. No longer is naan the carb of choice. The paratha is this flaky deep fried goodness. Like the Mexican tortilla fried or the Taiwanese green onion pancake. Yum. Great dinner. I will be back again and again.

Place is good, but I feel like the price you pay isn’t really worth it. I ordered a small chicken masala, chicken tendoori, and some flat bread. Came out to almost 30 bucks. The portion was really small. The food was really good. I just wished the portion was bigger.

Food sucks !!! Doesn’t taste even half as good as al watan! They sell on the fact that maybe it’s a Pakistani cuisine but food cooked form instant boxed isn’t my cup of tea !! The Nihari I ordered had one little piece of beef in it and the remainder was a watered down stew … The naan was hard and rubbery !!

Great food, terrible service. I absolutely love the chicken biryani, tikka masala, mango lassis and naan. I literally eat the chicken biryani leftovers cold for breakfast the next morning. I don’t even mind that the food takes a little longer to prepare because it is absolutely worth the wait. You’d be hard pressed to find a better biryani, even in Cerritos.(Went to Biryani Factory tonight and they weren’t nearly as good… sorry!) The atmosphere here is nice, clean, and comfortable. The only real negative to this place is the unfriendly, angry looking owner/manager. He is grouchy and intimidating. If he were a little more pleasant towards his patrons, I’m sure this would be packed all the time!

I was in the area and stopped by at this place, I had been to this place before but that was many years ago. The food was fresh and delicious. We got the chicken biryani and tandoori platter. We weren’t able to finish our tandoori platter. The portions are good for the price.

Where do I begin?! The flavor is on point, the prices are fair, the location is in a tiny plaza. The staff are very informative and friendly. I’m not quite sure if the business is always slow but there were nobody there which I kinda like, but it made me kind of sad because they deserve to be known.

We had the garlic naan, chili naan, lassi, Qurma lamb curry, aloo chana, kheer and paratha. The lamb curry and garlic naan are hands down the best i’ve had. The spices balance beautifully, the dishes are not too oily, the food is fresh and flavorful. The lamb was tender and juicy, and the garlic naan had an incredible aroma. Everything else was delicious, however i don’t usually go for fried items. I would definitely return here.

They have a reasonably priced buffet on Fridays, about the time prayer at the local mosque lets out. The style of cooking caters to a Muslim diet, as opposed to the more common Indian food you would see around South County or in LA. This is definitely a more traditional«home style» Indian/Paki restaurant, & the flavors reflect that quite a bit. The chicken biryani is definitely something to make sure to have when you stop by, it’s what they’re popular for. I’m more of a meat & naan eater, so a plate of chicken tikka & onions is mainly what I eat. The naan bread can make or break an Indian restaurant hahaa but trust me, you’ll have no disappointments here, I’ve yet to try something I didn’t enjoy. I personally drink either iced tea, or water when I go anywhere, but they have a good selection of ethnic drinks; a lot of my friends order the yogurt mango drink, so I would suggest trying it if that’s what you’re into. Social footnote: The shopping center is shared w/some Vietnamese businesses, & the clientele there is generally older between all demographics; so keep that in mind when you pull into the parking lot. Some people don’t care to be considerate, but if you do, don’t pull in bumping anything explicit, or wearing anything your grandma would give you a guilt trip over.

Just to be nice, I will give this place two stars. My supervisor and I came here for lunch on Tuesday around 12:30 pm. It was completely emptied. We ordered the chicken tikki massala and beef biryani with a side of garlic naan. We finally recieved our two dishes around 1. Why did it take over half an hour? I don’t know. Also let me remind you, we were the only customers there. I thought in the meantime we would at least get our garlic naan so we can eat it with the yogurt dipping sauce as an appetiver, however this came after our dishes. The waitor was not attentative at all, for he was sitting behind the counter on his phone the whole time. We had to walk across the room twice just to ask for to-go boxes and the check. What horrible customer service! Let me add. We ordered two mango lassi to go and that took another 15 minutes just to make since they forgot about it, making us both very late to work. The only good thing was that the beef biryani was a fairly large portion to share between 2 people, maybe even 3. They slimmed out on the chicken massala however; for I paid half the price for twice the amount at other indian restaurants. The food was mediocre. First and last time I will come here.

I came here for the weekend lunch buffet which was $ 14 if I recall correctly. They had the following buffet items: Mini Samosas French Fries Beef Nihari Goat Karahi Chicken Pilao Chicken Tikka Masala Paya Halwa Puri Naan Chanay Tandoori Chicken Kheer Lassi And a few other items I forgot I came around 12 pm so all the food was hot and fresh. I want to come back here and try their biryani and other bbq items. And for all the people who complain about lack of items for the price, Pakistani/Indian dishes have lots of ingredients and time that go into them. You can’t cut corners and put in low quality, «imitation» meat.

Sunday buffet — very affordable, great quality food! The mango lassi is amazing, and you get unlimited refills. Nehari, Paye, lamb chops… and the list goes on. I cannot help but admire the cleanliness and upkeep of the interior. Great place to bring non-Pakistani friends.

This review is on the buffet on Fridays. Came in around 2PM and most of the buffet dishes were empty and they were not filling them promptly. When they did fill it was only half cooked. So I would only come to the buffet early around 11am. or BESTTOJUSTAVOIDTHIS. Come and order your own dishes from the menu and that seems to be the best way here.

The bf wouldn’t stop suggesting Indian food for dinner. I wouldn’t stop suggesting everything else BUT Indian food after the first time of having it and I didn’t part with my toilet seat for a least a few hours. Okay, TMI. Anyway, I finally gave in because I believe in second chances. We always pass by this joint because it’s pretty much down the street from our house. I never even noticed it was there until my bf pointed it out. It’s located in the same plaza as all of these Vietnamese shops so it blended right in. Upon entering we were completely lost and felt out of place. The nice gentlemen behind the counter quickly brought us a menu and we ordered what seemed to be the most popular dishes; chicken marsala, tandoori chicken, and garlic naan. The garlic naan dipped in the marsala sauce was heaven. All the dishes fit my taste buds quite nice and also sat well with my stomach. :)

Like living things, restaurants also abide by «survival of the fittest». In Garden Grove, the weakest link in Vietnamese or Korean food will either have to toughen up or be weeded out by the competition. Indian food, on the other hand, has no motivation to excel in this town. Naan to me is simple and divine. It pops into my mind like a fluffy cloud every time I think of Indian cuisine. It is the primary reason I walk into an Indian restaurant. So when my naan is crisped up at the bottom, burnt around the edges, and not that soft in the middle, those mental fluffy clouds turn into dark, stormy rain clouds. Fortunately, the storm was abated when the other items turned out acceptable. The Chicken Masala was dark meat chicken floating in thick, buttery orange sauce as usual, and the Tandoori Chicken of legs and thighs were juicy with that slight charred taste. If I were in Artesia with my pick of Indian restaurants that line Pioneer Blvd., Noorani Halal Restaurant would not get a second glance or chance, but in Garden Grove, it might satisfy a quick craving for Indian food, if I can somehow overlook the slightly burnt naan and focus on the mediocre main dishes.
