I ordered garlic nan with lamb vindaloo. I asked them to make it spicy hot. It was delicious. Comparatively buying nan by itself was a little bit more expensive than getting the combo plates. For a fast food joint it is pretty tasty. It is a good place to go if you are in a hurry because the food is already made and available to choose for your combo plates. However you have the option of ordering from the menu as well.

If you in the mood for Indian and you don’t want to drive to Irvine then Taste of India is perfect. This little restaurant is in the Smart and Final parking lot on Magnolia and Warner. When you walk in your first impression is this place is outdated and pretty filthy. The ordering style of this joint is like a Chinese take out. They have 1,2&3 item combos which are served with rice and Naan. I explain to the guy who was working that it was our first time and he give us little samples of all the different curry. That was awesome! I ordered the #3 combo and i choose Chicken Tika Marsala, Coconut Chicken and Beans and Potato curry. I have to say this food is quite good. I didn’t expect much from this place by the looks of it but i was pretty impressed. The flavors were on point. The Tika Marsala had a bright orange color and tasted wonderful. The garlic Naan was very soft and delicious. Overall this place was great. It only really needs a face lift and it would be great. Thanks for reading. Matthew Y.

I thought this place was pretty decent. Came here because I decided to do grab a quick dinner with a friend. It was structured as a to-go with all their curries and food set before you. Great place if you need your dose of Indian food but not a place to take a date. Their combos were price friendly and so were the staff. I had their chicken tikka masala and it was okay. The chicken was a tad on the leaner side and the flavors wasn’t as concentrated. They had a lot of other things to offer but I only had the tikka and I’m Viet so my credibility for judging Indian food is questionable. So take my review with a grain of salt and try it for yourself.

This place is so horrible now. I feel so sad that is has got this bad. It seems like they have new owners and the one lady that is always there working the front is soooooooo rude. Just no customer service, I’m not sure why she even works/owns the place. Not only has the service gone down but so has the food. The rice doesn’t taste fresh, food is now lacking flavor and almost tasted watered down. I got naan today and it was literally like cruchy and burnt. Food quality is horrible. Taste is bland and non existent. I don’t ever plan on coming here again which is sad because I use to come here all the time as I loved it.

This restaurant is awesome. It is the only Indian restaurant that I like to go to, and I have been to a lot. There good is constantly made fresh and is always warm. There food is delicious and depending on what you like they have it they have sweet and sour type food they have spicy food they have tangy food they have everything. The prices are fair and the container sizes are big. If you are looking for good Indian food to eat come to Taste of India!

I was craving for some Indian flavor but my favorite Indian cuisine was all the way in Anaheim, which would take probably an hour round trip. So I used Unilocal to find an alternative closer to me and decided on this place. Let me continue by saying this was my first time here and the man who helped me had a super thick accent so I had a hard time understanding half of the things he said. I quickly chose the lunch special because it seemed pretty safe. It came with 2 entrees, garlic or plain naan, samosa, rice, salad, dessert, and drink for $ 8.99. For my entrees I chose chicken marsala and potato/green bean curry. I wasn’t given a drink so I did ask for it and when I got my order I decided to check for the items and noticed they left out the dessert. I brought this to their attention and the man who helped me said sorry they didn’t have any left. I suggested to them that because it’s an item listed as part of the meal that I ordered they should have told me before I paid. Common sense. I mean if they didn’t have any more rice or couldn’t make anymore naan they would tell their customers before customers paid, no? I felt he didn’t really consider my advice, just said sorry, and then looked away. The food is pretty decent though and it’s cheap so if it wasn’t for the food I would have given this place 2 stars. Regardless, I’m not coming back.

So I know that this place may not be very impressive when you walk in but they do have some pretty tasty lunch dishes. Food is prepared like at a Panda or any other pre-made dish to serve place. I normally get the chicken tikka(red colored) and the Tikka masala for the sauce. You also get some pretty tasty garlic naan that you can dip in your masala sauce and eat with the chicken. I have had the curry and some of the spinach sauce as well. This place is not a date place, nor is going to impress many people but the food is great for your on the run kinda day. When you check in you get a free drink so it makes the value even better. Plenty of food, well cooked but I would not recommend coming here during off offers since the food sits for a bit and can get dried out.

Quick and easy, the taste was on point but the chicken tikka masala came out a little cooler than expected. Overall you get what you pay for.

Wish there was a 0 star rating because this place was an absolute nightmare. I ordered my food online for pickup, waited 45 min till it was ready. I walked into the restaurant and the lady looked at me blankly and said they never received any order and that they don’t even have a computer. Um then why would you list your business with eat24 then? I was already irritated having to wait that long for my food on top of hearing about my order so I asked for a refund. The lady said«we don’t do refunds, you have to ask«the guy» to do it. I think she meant eat24. There was no sense in wasting my time arguing so I just left and emailed eat24. Worst customer service ever and never coming back here again.

My husband and I frequent this place at least 1 or 2 a month. When we were dating we had a great conversation and enjoy the food everytime. Rarely disappointed. I will say sitting in seems to give more food than ordering to go. But overall the people here are great and the food is spactular. Easily one of our favorite spots!!!

Upon walking in I was a little surprised at the lower end looking décor. This was my first clue. I had not know of this place but found them through my entertainment book. I thought I would give it a try. I first presented my coupon just in case. The newer sever was confused so he brought it to the back gentleman who was in charged. Right away I could tell they didn’t like dealing with a coupon. The man in charge had is glasses on and was closely inspecting it. After a lengthy conversation the server came out and said they would honor the coupon. I said I would like the tandori chicken. The man in the back then said that the coupon couldn’t be used for tandori chicken. At this point I had all the information I needed and got the hell out. Good luck!

Tiny joint with a couple of tables, foods pretty fresh — we had tandoori chicken(moist) goat(lean as always) and some other kind of chicken in curry(bomb dipping material with the garlic naan) Meh customer service. Had to wait while 4 people served one customer. I want to be nicer while its a family owned business but if you see a customer waiting, I assume you’d ask what’d I want. Both times I ended up telling them what I wanted before they looked at me. The weirdest part was when some Indian dude came and started arguing with the lady. Like loudly. That’s funny but really unprofessional to customers. If this were someone’s family house I’d be cool but for a re/tau rant? Cmon… spare us the naan.

This place is located in the same plaza as the Smart and Final and is more off to the side. If you check in on Unilocal you get a free soda or something like that. There was ample parking in the plaza. You can order to-go or sit down in the restaurant, which has a few tables and I believe is self serve. I felt the food here was pretty mediocre. That being said, I ordered from the pre-cooked food that was already sitting out, rather than getting a fresh order so that might have something to do with it. I had the combo and had the chicken tikka masala and another item I forgot the name of. Both items were pretty boring, they didn’t really have that nice flavor I’m used to with Indian food and felt like the spices were very sparingly used. The naan also only tasted okay, I was expecting a fluffier, chewier texture but it wasn’t bad. Overall, an okay place if you’re craving Indian food and don’t want to venture to far looking for a sit-down restaurant.

As good as takeout Indian food can be. This is the most convenient spot to go to around me, and totally satisfies my Indian food cravings. Hot bar options are not super extensive but they have most popular items we are all familiar with. I even saw a goats meat curry which vouched for its authenticity. They have other options off the regular menu too, though I haven’t tried them. $ 8.99 for dinner gave me a two entrée meal with rice, salad(with a yummy cucumber yogurt dressing), and generous portion of garlic naan. I had chicken tikki masala and squash with potato. Not as flavor bursting of a profile as other places that I’ve been, but still good! A hint of kick but not much(I wouldn’t have minded it being a little spicier). Overall unless I was looking for a lunch buffet sit down place there would be no reason to go anyplace else for an Indian fix.

FREESOFTDRINK when you check in. One bonus. The portion size of the food is decent, I got the three entrée dishes. The chicken Tikka Masala is bomb, chicken curry was too spicy for me, and the indian potatoes and squash was mehhhh(maybe i am not a squash fan) First thought when i entered the restaurant was it cool be a chill kick spot. They have india music in the background, you just want to get up and shake your bootay. But its nice place to go for a quick meal.

Came here for a quick bite for lunch, you get a drink, 2 entrees, samosa, salad, naan or garlic naan all for 8.99, pretty good deal! They also give you a ton of food, so I was pretty happy about that. I got the most generic ones possible lol Chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken, both were decent, but not the greatest, the tiki masala honestly tasted almost too tomato sauce like? and the tandoori chicken was kind of stringy. But overall though, good for a quick stop to eat, service was fast, TV to entertain you with their native shows.

Authentic, but not too authentic. Three of us went on a Tuesday night and there was a line through the front door. The menu is great. it’s extensive but we only tried what was already available. The ordering process is extremely slow. It took about 15 minutes to get through three orders, and we ordered what was already made. The food was great. Chicken Tikka Masala was very good. Garbanzo beans were good. Pinto beans and Potatoes were also good. They give much more Naan than other places. Limited seating area was tough but doable.

I recently made a visit to Cerritos with the intention to tickle my tongue with amazing Indian food. Unfortunately, I ran behind schedule and that plan didn’t come to fruition. Woe is me! :(Thankfully, I realized that there was a small Indian joint just footsteps away from home. So, I trekked on over and prayed that the offering would satisfy my craving. Gawd, please be good! My stomach spoke to me strongly in that moment, so I decided to settle on the two item lunch special to maximize taste selection. For $ 8.99 the meal included a soft drink(lemonade, coke etc), salad, samosa, your choice of naan(plain, garlic), two items from the steam station(I ordered Chicken Tiki Marsala and Saag Aloo), rice, and dessert. I honestly felt like Princess Jasmine feasting on a royal meal. There was so much delicious food! and you bet there was enough leftovers for dinner! For less than $ 10, you can essentially get two meals versus one item at a traditional Indian restaurant. Works for me!
