Ordered a combo #1 with 1 lb clams, 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb crawfish, torpedo sauce spicy. This was pretty good especially with the chopped garlic. The sucky service leaves a bad taste in your mouth though. We sat down and then it took a while for someone to acknowledge us. While ordering the server made the motion for me to hurry up like he didn’t have the time of day… not welcoming at all. Way to set a bad mood. This was on a Thursday around 6 pm. I understand it’s a busy time but where’s the customer service? By the way, they no longer offer complementary shrimp chips or bread.

I think the taste of the sauce is good. They give you a side of it for dipping. You have to give them 5 stars for creativity as they put soap and water with dry ice on your table to wash your hands. Creative! Also, I have to give it to them on their customer service. My order was incorrect. Instead of crawfish they doubled up on shrimp. The extra muscles charge was taken out as courtesy.

Place is awesome small little food front. I base the review on the shrimp, Cajun fries and beer I had. I can see the wait time being long since it is by no means a big place. Their sauce is much different than the typical boiling crab and kickin crab in a good way, is it better? That’s preference but still delicious. I think it’s good and the spicy is probably the same if not a little less than boiling crabs definitely not like the XXX. The corn was delicious but it was extra! The beer was bottled nothing special. The coolest thing has to be the hand washing method used. It’s like little rocks that make water foam up and it’s super cool and really cleans your hand. I would totally come back for that. The fries I thought needed a little bit more Cajun. Overall: come back yes good yes the best obviously that’s preference but a competitor I would say to the bigger chains.

I’ll stick with boiling crab. We ordered the combo #1, and the sauce was just lacking. Although the shrimp was a lot bigger than the ones they serve at boiling crab, it was too damn hard to peel. Usually at boiling crab, I can get through 4 or 5 shrimps in under a minute, but here, it honestly took me a minute, just to peel one shrimp. It was frustrating to say the least. Also, if you order sausage, it’s not like boiling crab where you have huge chunks of it floating around the bag. There were literally like 3 small slices inside, and you had to actually look for it to find them. One great thing about this place, is the amount of big screen TVs here. You’ll have no issues watching a game here… and parking didn’t appear to be an issue. In the end, I did leave full, but with arthritis and carpal tunnel.

This is my new go to place for Cajun seafood. The seasoning is just right and I didn’t leave feeling that I can scare away 100 vampires… The service was good as well. Try the Cajun corn… Yummy in the tummy… The speciality tea was very good and strong. At the end they provided dry ice cleaning solution to clean your hands really cool concept. My one minor complaint one shared restroom for the entire restaurant…:( Besides that… Definitely worth your time and money…

Service and food was at its best! This restaurant is a better version of Boiling Crab. First and best part is that there’s hardly a wait time. The few times I’ve been there I didn’t have to wait and it’s been on the weekends. If anything the place does have a wait list for people to sign in, but it’s about 5 min wait. Nothing compared to the 1 or 2 hr wait at BC. Second, there’s a special menu for bigger parties at a discounted rate. Third, they have a fun and easy way to clean your hands and not leave with a sticky and shrimp cajun smell. They use dry ice and water and when diluted it creates a soapy antibacterial foam that removes smell and cleans hands. When walking out of restaurant it’s as if you didn’t eat fish. There’s a variety of different food and it’s better than BC!

I’ve always wanted to check this place out, since I want to find some good alternatives to Boiling Crab. There was no one here around 5pm on Saturday, which was nice. I can definitely see this place getting crowded during peak hours. Not a lot of seating here. My fiancé and I ordered combo #1& the cajun fries(they were good). Because we both don’t like clams, we got it substituted for shrimp, which was great. Our combo also came with 4 slices(literally 4 small bite size pieces) of sausage, corn or potato, and shrimp. When we got our food, we only got 3 slices of sausage, but we noticed the shrimp was really plump and large. However, it was SO hard to peel! I want to assume that it was due to the freshness of the shrimp. Overall, the flavor wasn’t too bad, but I definitely like Boiling Crab much better. Check-in on Unilocal to receive one free drink with a combo order. Also, the hand washing dry-ice thing is cool, but nothing special. My hands still smelled after washing with water/soap and the dry ice.

Trying to eat at Claws and don’t want to wait an hour? Submarine Crab is a good 2nd choice go to spot. They have a nicer presentation than your typical cajun shrimp restaurant; shrimp comes out in a pot, and their adventure plate and hand wash are interesting. Being a smaller place, the service is also better than other spots. I agree with other Unilocalers that the shrimp is a little overcooked here; the skin is a little harder to take off. Our servers were attentive and friendly, water was always full, and there was no 1 hour wait!

«We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine» So the restaurant isn’t exactly yellow nor does it look like a submarine but they do serve copious amounts of delicious seafood which is close enough for me. Our friends chose this restaurant for dinner mainly because there are so many Boiling Crab copycats and believe it or not, most are just as good if not better than Boiling Crab. This happened to be the case for me here but my fiancé who is a diehard Boiling Crab fan disagrees with me. But I think for now, I’ll always choose NOT waiting in line for over an hour and NOT feeling like my seafood was drowned in an overly oily/greasy sauce(aka Boiling Point’s sauce). Plus, they have complimentary shrimp chips and bread. That’s awesome. We opted for their Combo 1 which comes with 3 corns, 3 potatoes, 6 sausages and your choice of 1ib of clams(we swapped our for mussels), with 2 ibs of shrimp or crawfish(we chose shrimp). Their Torpedo Sauce is what you want to order since it’s their combination sauce and get it spicy because their medium is not spicy at all. Our friends also ordered some chicken wings which were pretty good but nothing I really care to order again. Anyways, your seafood comes out in a bag lined iron pot which is a huge plus because your food stays hot for a very long time. I also saw some onion slices in the sauce which was a nice touch. The shrimp was on the large side and cooked nicely. There was one or two that was overcooked but overall, it was very consistent. The mussels and sausages were also very good but honestly the corn was the winner here. I mean how could corn taste so good? Maybe it was just super fresh or something. But really, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The only downside I can think of is that I didn’t walk out of the restaurant feeling AS stuffed as I do when I walk out of Boiling Crab. Maybe it’s less food in general. The final finishing touch is what took it to the next level for me. They have this bubbling hand wash that’s really a lot of fun and really interesting. It’s dry ice foaming soap essentially and you can wash your hands without leaving the table! It’s a lot of fun. The service was excellent all throughout the night and I found the price to be reasonable. Will be back for sure! 5⁄5

I was super excited to try this place! Just the name alone made it really fun and intriguing! I absolutely love Cajun style seafood the spicier and flavorful the better, so I was ready to dive elbows deep into their buckets of seafood. The place is not that big but the wait was not long for a Friday night. Once we were seated our friendly waiter guided us through their menu and made a couple of suggestions for the night. We went with their combo #1 where you get to choose either 2 pounds of shrimp or 2 pounds of craw-fish. We couldn’t decide between either so the waiter suggested one pound of each. You also have the option of choosing two sides that are mixed inside the bucket. We went with their corn on the cob but they also had potato to choose from. The have bottled beer for only $ 2.50 what a deal!!! Its the same price as their soft drinks so we couldn’t resist. I got a Corona and my BF got a Blue Moon. We also ordered a delicious side of garlic fries. We had the option to choose two types of dipping sauces with our combo and went with their spicy house sauce. Once our steaming bucket of food came out we were ready! OMG! The mouthwatering spicy sauce that coated the seafood was superb! First of all the shrimp was enormous, they served us jumbo shrimp and it was very juicy and delicious. The craw-fish was also very good, it tasted fresh and it was a decent size, both were cooked perfectly. Believe it or not we started getting full, it was more than enough for both us. Once we were finished they brought out a glass of bubbling soapy water! What a great idea to wash your saucy hands. The kids in the restaurant were so entertained by the bubbling suds. It was a fun way to end our dinner experience at Submarine crab!

Go here more often than I should. Their shrimp and clams are a hit or miss. Sometimes they’re large and other times they’re small. But the torpedo sauce is pretty good, a little on the spicy side. Major highlights — shrimp chips, gloves, and soap bubble/dry ice concoction! Sometimes we order a extra plate of squid and scallops, which makes it seafood heaven :)

Three of my girlfriends and I decided to come here since my friend requested it for her bday’s dinner. It was in a plaza with plenty of parking. I believe we arrived about 6:30pm and scored the last open table. Right when you get seated, you are handed these wonderful shrimp chips. I enjoyed them.(Extra basket will cost you $ 1) We ended up getting combo 3. Combo 3 has 1lb clams, 1lb shrimp, 1lb crawfish and your choice of crab legs or lobster tails. We decided on no crawfish and double up on the shrimp. The combo does include some sausages and corn on the cob. I thought the shrimp was okay, the crab legs and the corn in the sauce was yummy. A huge plus, is that they provide a bowl of sauce on the side so you can dip as much as you want. We also got an order of cajun fries and garlic noodles. These are the two dishes that are a must here. Can’t go wrong with these. They were both my favorite of the night. However, I’m more of a carb lover than a seafood lover. Service was wonderful. The waiters that were helping us were nice and made us enjoy our dinner from start to finish.

Was about to settle for Kickin Crab when I came across this place! Did not disappoint and it stood out considering all these shrimp places are pretty similar in what they serve. Came in around 7pm, surprisingly not too busy and we were seated and served some shrimp chips. Settled for the 3 lbs torpedo mild for 2. Comes with 2 lbs of shrimp, 1lb of clams, 2 corn or potato, bread and sausage for $ 32. Not a bad deal. Unlike other places where the seafood is soaked in a bag, we had it brought in a pan along with some of the sauce on the side. For sides we ordered cajun fries and garlic noodles. Fries are normally just fries but these were perfectly crunchy! The sauce that came with it was pretty addicting! Garlic noodles seem to be a popular choice at these joints. They were a good size and good despite how basic it sounds. Service was awesome as the guy was clear about the entire menu, definitely enjoyed him checking up to make sure everything was good. End of the meal they bring out a dry ice foam wash. Pretty cool gimmick as you get the foam it just evaporates in your hands as you scrub away. Overall it stood out. The Unilocal rating definitely caught my eye and it lives up to it! Ditch the long boiling crab waits for this joint! Check in for some free soda!

We happened to be in the area and found this spot on Unilocal. One person seems to be doing the service and he has been doing an impeccable job, checks in on everyone, refills without a word and is very efficient. Kiisfm plays instead of the usual edm from an employees phone. We had the Captain Andy which was sweet yet bitter and left our mouths with a dry aroma. My brother loved the little jellies in our drink and I wish i could’ve just got the juice itself. We ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, classic Cajun wings and Cajun fried rice. The fried rice itself was okay, it was absolutely basic and something you could make at home. We were expecting the fried rice to be Cajun but it was bland more than anything. We usually order medium spicy on our seafood but went mild this time, it wasn’t too bad. Next time we’ll try to go for medium! They have a super cool mechanism of how you can clean your hands here, snapchat & Instagram worthy! ;) Overall, the 5 stars came primarily from service, my brother and I were satisfied and we are leaving with super full tummies.

Another crawfish/seafood spot that is very similar to Boiling Crab and Kickin’ Crab. I came with a friend to grab late dinner and we ended up waiting less than 10 minutes which was definitely a plus. We each ordered a pound of shrimp with cajun fries. My friend also ordered some sausages and corn but I was content with just the shrimp and fries. Our fries came out first but we were immediately disappointed. We ordered CAJUN fries yet the fries looked like regular fries with the most minimal amount of powder on top. We flagged our waiter down to confirm these were what we ordered and he offered to add more powder to it. When he brought it back, it barely looked or tasted any different but we didnt want to complain again so we just sucked it up… it was the most plain non cajun fries I’ve had which is odd since so many reviews rave about them. Either way, we were not impressed at all with them. The shrimp however was full of heat and flavor! Usually when I order medium spicy its never as spicy as I prefer but they hit the right amount perfectly & I also appreciated how the sauce wasn’t extremely oily either. Service was 5⁄5. Our server was friendly and multiple different servers would stop by to refill our water and check up on us. The coolest part of the meal was the dry ice foaming soap they give you at the end of your meal. We definitely had to pull our phones out to snapchat it. It’s also a good amount of soap too – It just kept bubbling out! Overall. 3⁄5 experience based on food, service and presentation but I still would choose Kickin’ Crab as my first choice.

We came here on Sunday afternoon at 3pm and it was empty. There Le was only one other table dining besides us. The service is a bit slow for the food. One other table eating besides us. They were using gloves to eat their food. There are 4 flat panel tvs mounted on the walls and they play loud ghetto club music. Obviously we did not come here for the music. The food is actually pretty good here. After we were seated the server brought complimentary shrimp chips when you arrive at table. We ordered combo 1 with a pound each of shrimp, clams and crawfish in lemon butter sauce. We love that the sauce is served on the side and it’s not too salty. All beers 2.99 We will be back to try some other menu items.

The bf and I got them Boiling crab cravings on a random Friday, but we didn’t want to starve to death waiting in line either… so we checked our fave app Unilocal and found this location nearby. It seemed to be pretty new, and located in a new plaza with ample parking as well! Bonus points for available parking spots! Walking in, we were greeted by a friendly employee who explained the whole menu to us – lots of combos and other goodies. After we ordered, he was nice enough to recommend a combo to help us save $$ and get more food as well :) I’m a big piggie so this is what we ordered(Bill was about $ 70): Shrimp, Mussels, Clams: I am SO glad they let us tweak the combo slightly to accommodate these goodies… no regrets! We wanted crawfish at first, but they warned us it was previously frozen(honesty is a plus) so we got the shrimp. Everything was absolutely amazing… no regrets! We had the cajun sauce and I absolutely loved it – I’ve only ever liked the cajun at Boiling Crab, so this was a SUPER pleasant surprise. Sausages: Yea, I like sausage. A lot ;) Not too much to say, but they were cut into thick chunks and I kinda wish I ordered more. Seafood plate – Combo: I forgot what this was actually called, but it was so unique I couldn’t help but order! They gave us a few pieces of raw squid and clam, and we dunked it into a separate bowl – shabu shabu style! Very interesting… and delicious! A nice add on to the meal :) Cajun fries: You can’t get down and dirty with seafood and NOT order cajun fries. These were seasoned well, and on the skinnier side for fries. I enjoyed them very much. Oyster appetizer: I forgot if they were grilled or baked or whatever, but they were cooked. This was probably the only dish I didn’t enjoy, though the bf liked it. No lie, they were cooked well and you can definitely tell it was fresh, but I prefer my seafood plain and simple. These were loaded with bread crumbs and possibly butter, which changes the taste for me. Not a fan, though you might be! Overall, I think this is my current fave for seafood munching(yup, they beat Boiling Crab) due to their delicious combos, amazing sauce, and the fact that their sodium level isn’t through the roof like BC! Sauces are seasoned just right, and seafood is very reasonably priced. Employees are also friendly and always kept our waters filled, tables in check, etc. They also have the coolest handwash thing… dry ice and fragrant water! I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in the OC… this is a place to check out, folks!

Everything I had here was tasty EXCEPTTHECRAWFISH, the crawfish tasted freezer burned so don’t get crawfish when it’s not in season i think i enjoyed the side dishes more than my main boil because we ordered crawfish. if you like spicy definitely go with the most spicy level —complimentary shrimp chips while your order, tasty —garlic noodles: YUM really good but my friends said it was exceptionally good the day i went —cajun fries: really good & perfect when they were fresh out of the kitchen! —coconut snails: not bad, i wouldn’t have thought to order this myself —chicken wings: crispy fried —corn in the boil: on point! —bubbling tea: a bit too sweet but nice touch with the jellys, basil seed, and a bit of a show with the dry ice smoke coming out —open faced prawns: not bad they also offer bibs if you know you’re a messy eater NOTE: they offer gloves if you ask for them & don’t want garlic smelling hands ALTHOUGH that’s why they offer the bubbling soap hand washing station at your table after the meal

Last few times I’ve been here, the food has grown a bit too salty for my palate. The shrimp is pretty good and large but their sauce was lacking and it wasn’t as juicy as I had from them before. The service is still pretty good, but with their limited seating availability, the wait can be pretty long(originally it wasn’t). When I had it originally, the sauce was pretty flavorful but after recent visits it appears that they had changed it a bit or something because I wasn’t getting the same juicy flavors and texture as I had prior. I usually get the combo 1 which actually fills you up as they do stuff it with a bunch of clams, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, etc… Like I said, service is still pretty cool here. I just feel that they are a bit overwhelmed and at times it takes a bit longer than expected for service, but still tops. I think they just need to make the sauce a bit less salty and more saucy and we have a winner here again. PS Kickin crab still has my favorite sauce and boiling crab still has my favorite corn. If they get that quality sauce and corn going, game over!

FOOD — Complimentary shrimp chips: awesome! 5⁄5 — Cajun fries: good. Comparable to Boiling Crab’s cajun fries. 5⁄5 — Chicken wings: sweet with a tiny bit of a kick. 4⁄5 — King crab legs(torpedo medium): fresh, good flavor. 4.5÷5 — Crawfish(torpedo medium): fresh, good flavor. A little small. 4⁄5 — Free side with each ordered pound. We got 1 free corn and a free potato. Pretty awesome. Who does’t like free food?! 5⁄5 SERVICE Friendly.
