We’re serious addicts of the boiling crab, and easily spend $ 200 a month eating here. My boyfriend worked a long day and we were both craving some seafood so we drove straight from work but didn’t arrive until 9:45. We ordered 1lb of shrimp and calamari and Cajun fries. Everything was soggy and the shrimp were mushy and undercooked. By the time we got home the restaraunt was closed. We saved the receipt and the undercooked shrimp and tossed the mushy fries and calamari. They didn’t include limes either. Both of us went to bed hungry and frustrated. The next day we called in because we were somewhat near the area and got transferred to a manager with an S name(male). He assured us he could refund the food, and told us we could come in immediately. Already at another eatery we decided to leave and head over to resolve this. When we arrived no one knew of our call and we were told the only manager with a name even close to an S was not working. We were told to go to the take out area and again because they’re separate franchises and speak to their manager. Again, no one knew of us coming despite being assured that Mike would let Jose know. Despite them being able to look up the receipt and see our purchase and my photos they refused to refund or remake our food without us bringing in the food itself, and the receipt. I’ll never return to the Togo side of boiling crab. And frankly I’m pretty shocked at their complete lack of accountability in the matter

Always wanted to try the boiling crab but every time I come by, the line and wait is ridiculously long. So I figured why not try togo instead and I’m glad I did! I called in ahead on a Sunday afternoon and placed my order which was a breeze. They told me it would be about 10 – 15 minutes for the food to be ready. I got there about 5 minutes after the call, paid for my order and my food was already done! Super fast not to mention that they were extremely pack at the time! I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp and 2 pounds of crawfish with the sha-bang mild sauce on them. They were so tasty and delicious, and definitely satisfied my cravings. The price was decent! I will be coming back next time.

Life saver, craving satisfier. I call in because I am wiser. Forget the lines, forget the wait. I call, I chill on the couch and then when it’s time I come get the goods! I haven’t had a bad experience here yet. I’ve been eating boiling crab before boiling crab exploded. Nothing beats it for shrimp cravings! It’s so simple, I walk it. I pay and it takes like 3 – 5 minutes lol. So far all of my orders have been on point! I know some review that they get wrong orders but luckily I haven’t and knocking on wood it doesn’t! My go to is 1 lb shrimp whole shabang medium with added corn or a ½ lb sausage. Good god it’s to die for. Lime wedges are a MUST, Cajun fries are amazing but gotta eat them fresh or they will be soggy! When I want a feast for my family I order several pound of shrimp or throw in some crab. I don’t eat crawfish anymore but people love that and the oysters here. Anyway, super convenient! I don’t need to wait hours an sit inside to satisfy my cravings. Love this option!!!

The manager Jose is the worst, I don’t know how he earned his position but some re– evaluations needs to be done. My mom called at 534 to place an order, we were told it would be an hour due to it being mother’s day. We arrived around 7stood in line, once I got to the register and gave my info I was told they had no record of my order. The guy went and asks some of the other workers if they remember taking my order. He comes back and says if we could shows phone records they would rush our order. I come back with my moms phone and show where we called several times. Finally Jose comes over and says oh if I rush an order for you I have to do it for everyone. I asked well how often does this happen he replies it doesn’t matter. Needless to say we left without food but will be contacting corporate. FYI Jose if your employees screw up you should accommodate the customer it was not our fault.

Service here is already slow on weekdays. As for weekends even worse. To wait 40 minutes on a two orders of fries is stupid. Not worth my money+time. I have to mention that the fries were SOGGY! I had to wait that long for SOGGY fries. Bad service three straight times on different days… I’m satisfied with The patience that I had before posting this negative review.

I was actually really impressed that they had a boiling grab to-go! Didn’t realize one of the locations actually had one! Upon reading reviews it seems like they tend to forget a lot of orders, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and plus my housemates and I were starving and the wait to sit in was at least 45 – 60 minutes. I got my usual order except changed it to half a pound when I noticed prices went up. Also got Cajun fries because it’s like the thing to get. I was glad that I noticed the sign where it said to ask for the pepper and salt and lemons because they don’t give it to you unless you do. They gave me an absurd amount actually, I think I got more lemons than I got shrimp haha. My biggest disappointment was when a lot of the reviews I read came true. My roommate ordered rice with her chowder and she didn’t get any! I should’ve told her to check to make sure she got everything before she left because I know I would have. So to anyone who comes here, CHECKTOMAKESUREYOUGETALLYOURFOODBEFORELEAVING.

Bad costumer service. The food is very good, but if you need more customers you should hire better customer service that doesn’t give their customers a bad attitude. I was going to leave a good tip, but they raised their voice and was rude to the customer they don’t deserve a penny.

Like many others have stated, cheated on our to-go order. Ordered 2-lbs of fresh crawfish($ 12/lb at the time) and didn’t receive it in our bag. We called and just got the run around about a «manager.» Didn’t do anything for us. Make sure to open up your bags and quadruple check, maybe even bring a scale, to make sure they don’t short you of your items. Even better advice, go somewhere else.

DONOTEATHERE, THEYMESSUPYOURORDERANDREFUSETOISSUEREFUND. I was in the area and ordered 2 lbs shrimp, 2 lbs crawfish, corn on the cob and sausage. Picked up order attendant reviewed order and made it sound like all items were in bag. After driving back home to Redlands an hour away, my fiancé and I sit down to eat. We open the bag and the place did not put the crawfish in the bag. I called the place and they told me I’d have to bring the order back so they could review the bag. I told them that I live in Redlands and that I’m not driving 2 hours roundtrip so that you can just check my bag. I asked for a refund of the items they didnt give me and again was told I’d have to bring my bag back to them so they could inspect it. Whats to inspect, I told you theres no crawfish in my bag. Horrible customer service would not deal with again. No sense of responsibility to the paying customers when they mess up your order and refuse to take responsibility for it.

After a horrible previous experience, we finally had the courage to back. The service was much better this time. However, I still really miss the old style sauce before they changed the recipe. Oddly enough, I enjoy the wings and sausages here more than the crawfish. Boiling crab has slowly fallen off my list of favorites.

27 February 2016 Times are estimate… You get the picture. 5:48PM Order(Call-In) 6:00PM Grab food, went home realized no oyster 6:15PM Forgot my oysters I placed a pick up order. Picked up my food from a male cashier(asain guy, medium-large build, not scrawny). Went home realized no oysters in my bag. Now it is sort of my fault for not checking, but he should have grabbed all the necessary items too. So it’s both our faults, until I went back. Some skinny chick rang me up… I told her my situation(also tell her the guy is right there who rang me up). She asks for my receipt. I pull it out. Immediately when I entered the facility, the male cashier recognized me, but ignored me. She tells me I need the receipt with the food items listed(that one was obviously pasted on the brown togo bag, which was sitting at home)… I said, «I mean I can ask my sister to take a picture and send it». She ignores that comment. Prior when explaining my situation, I told her that«the guy that rang me up previously was right there. He remembers my face»… She instead proceeds to ask her coworkers what she should do. I hear whispers and discussions of the word«manager» a lot at this point. I show her my receipt(my sister finally sends it over), «Oh here.» A minute passes by, and she asks me, «Do you remember who rang you up?» I say and point«That guy… I’ve told you many times»… At this point, I think she got embarassed and she said, «Ok!» harshly and did not make further eye contact at me, and turned her head in his direction. She calls him and asks if he took my order… He walks over, looks at me. He does not greet me or ask what’s wrong(He could have been busy but honestly. Why work in customer service… I would know I’ve worked in customer service jobs myself and I would never act the way he did) He barely makes eye contact. I tell him the situation whilst holding up my phone. «Sorry you forgot to give me my oysters and I didn’t bother checking» He doesn’t apologize, he barely makes any verbal recognition. He goes to the fridge and grabs out my oysters and hands it to me. No sorry. No have a nice day. No have a good day. He doesn’t even look at me. Oh yeah PS really Boiling Crab really! Additional charge for corn… What is up nowadays

Prices go up big time. It is okay, salty and overrated. Go other places and try it, you might like it, too much hype higher price and they cheated on to go food, ordered large fried chicken and they only gave me 6 wings…

Absolutly loved it! This place is a must. The wait was 45 minutes for a seat so we went next door to get take out. Ate in the truck. Top quality great portions. We will return!

Always come in to order togo because my boyfriend isn’t a fan of boiling crab. Keeps my cravings satisfied, and i can come home and watch tv while peeling my shrimp. Service here is quick and there is never a huge line(from my experience) compared to the actual boiling crab restaurant. Get my usual 1lb of shrimp in rajun cajun sauce with corn and sausage and it tastes even better as leftovers. I’ve tried many other competing crab shacks/crawfish houses and Boiling crab is the best

If you love very salty food, you’ll love this place. I tried K***** Crab first then this place within a week so it was compared obviously. I truly gave more credit for this Boiling Crab restaurant since it is nationwide restaurant. However, everything was too salty and clams/mussles were not fresh. I don’t taste any spicy level but salt and fishy smell. I am sorry but I would not go back to this place again.

It’s a great place to eat and get with the family to spend some time. I just wouldn’t bother to get it to go, they over cooked my orders the last two times I’ve gone. It makes it hard to eat

The food was great, and the portions were right. There was a bit too much oil in the sauce and of course there was no service because it is for take out, but definitely would recommend! Can’t wait to try eating at the restaurant!

Awful. I ordered the fried catfish basket(my favorite) and they gave me ONEFILETSHORT! Also, the portion of my cajun fries was SHORTASWELL! This has happened more than twice. If I want take-out, I’ll be going to the South Coast location from now on. BYE!

This BC is so freaking busy. It’s a good thing I don’t live in the OC or I’d be ordering to-go like every week. This says a lot because I visit the BC on Main St. in Alhambra like twice a year at most. I probably visit the OC like once a month and it always leads me to a sudden insatiable crave for some crawfish & shrimp nicely sitting in a bag of The Whole Sha-bang… xxx spicy, please. I firmly believe that their sauce here sh*ts on all the other BC’s sauces, and I’m sure many can vouch for that. The only thing that sucks about this place is that ITSALWAYSSODAMNBUSY. I once had to call like 8 times(I know, how desperate) and no one answered so I went to place an order in person. And seriously. I feel for the staff there. Phones ringing. People scrambling. Lines out the door. Angry families waiting to get their fix like fiends. It’s a mad house. But still well worth it, because it never disappoints. Hats off to you BC to-go, you the real MVP.

This location is strictly for to-go only. Do not attempt to dine in here. Its a few doors down from the Boiling Crab in Brookhurst. You can order by phone or actually go there and place an order to-go of course. The place is extremely small so if you’re claustrophobic like me then its best you order by phone(like me). They pick up usually right away by phone but at times they can get lackluster and not pick up if its super busy. Yes it can get super busy here too. I came in one particular day and the wait was about 15 minutes. For to-go thats not quite bad at all. The employees are super friendly for how hectic it can be. The quality of the food tastes the same to-go as it does if you dine in so if you’re in a rush and don’t wanna wait hours for Boiling Crab, just go to their to-go location and pick up a couple of pounds. Overall the to-go location is my to go location if I’m in dire need of BC and need to eat it in a rush. I don’t wanna wait a couple of hours. This is the perfect place to grab and go.

I usually sit down in the restaurant a few doors down. I made a spontaneous decision last night to make the 25 minute drive and order to go. It took a while to call in. The recording even hung up on me twice. When I finally got through, Linda was efficient and repeated my order before ending the call. My name was being called right as I walked in the door. Perfect! Seems like the guy who processed my order — and repeated it all back — was training another young guy or explaining how to operate/sign into the cash register so it took a bit longer than necessary. I glanced in the bag before leaving, but apparently didn’t do a thorough job. After I drove all the way home, I realized the 2 corns-on-the-cob I paid for were missing. Ugghh! They obviously wasn’t worth driving all the way back for, but I was soooo craving the sweet corn with the whole she-bang sauce. Lesson learned. Check EVERYTHING before leaving!

If you want Boiling Crab but don’t wanna deal with the long wait, hit up Boiling Crab To-Go! Call in to place your order and it’s ready in about 15 minutes. The guys who answer the phone are quick and efficient. Picking up is the same. It’s in and out without any hassle. Don’t forget the lime, salt, pepper, AND the wax paper for easy clean up. I love the shrimp whole shabang medium and crawfish whole shabang medium. Remember, only eat this once in a few months! This stuff is not good for you!

This is the to go location. You order by phone or there and pick up the food. Sometimes they are busy by phone so you actually have to order when you are there. The wait can be up to 30 minutes so of course its better by phone. The interior is very small with just a bench for seating(as it is a to go location). The staff is very friendly and work at a fast pace rate. I think they opened up this place because that other boiling crab a couple of stores down is very very busy all the time. It helps me out as I come here often to pick up my to go orders.

Boiling Crab To Go! It’s right next to Beard Papa’s. Small place inside and just one bench inside and outside for you to sit and wait. Menu’s on the wall so order at the counter and just wait for your name to be called! I’ve been here another time and the seasoning just wasn’t doing it for me, but came back again and it was much much better. Ordered one pound of shrimp, medium spicy and the whole sha-bang for $ 10 per pound. Less than 10 minutes later, we were out of there. You can ask for the butcher paper, bibs, lime, and salt/pepper mix as well. Shrimp was cooked perfectly according to my mom and the sauce was on point. I wished it had more garlic, but other than that my whole family loved it. Service is nice. They all seem pretty happy to work there and not annoyed with any of the customers. They don’t give you a look or roll their eyes at you either when you ask for something.
