Donut King

incredibly rude service from one lady there in particular. she yells and is intelligible when you ask for the smallest reasonable request. as a long time local gardena resident, this is unacceptable!

Drove up. The young man in the window just walked away. Don’t bother them. They don’t want your business. Just close it up. You want donuts, go to Rainbow down on Redondo Beach Blvd. They’re 24 hours, well lit, and happy to serve you.

I went to Donut King with a family member who raved about this particular doughnut spot one evening and I purchased two donuts, one Buttermilk Glazed doughnut and a Cinnamon Twist. They were very good but if I knew then what I came to know a few days ago, I would have never patronized this establishment.
I live in Mid-​City Los Angeles and I had a craving doughnuts and decided to take the drive to Gardena just for Donut King doughnuts. I purchased two glazed buttermilk, one glazed coconut and one glazed with sprinkles. The employee threw in extra doughnut holes. When I got home, I had eaten almost half of the glazed buttermilk doughnut with a glass of milk when I noticed a small dark brown section inside of the doughnut and I thought maybe it was a chocolate sprinkle inside or something until I pulled the doughnut and found a bug inside. This establishment does not even deserve a one star rating.
I didn’t want to throw away all of the donuts until I pulled apart the second buttermilk doughnut and found the same type of bug inside. I pulled apart the glazed coconut and sprinkled doughnuts and found the same type of bug. I am disgusted and freaked out because i’m certain that I ingested those bugs. I called to speak with someone to let them know their doughnuts had bugs in them but the lady on the phone did not speak good English. When I continued to try to communicate with her, she hung up on me. I even tried to call neighboring businesses to tell them about it, to perhaps purchase a doughnuts and when they found the bug inside, to show the person behind the counter, but decided that may not be such a good Idea. I don’t know how in the world this establishment receives an «A» rating (hint $$$). I will make sure to thoroughly check all food purchased from any fast food or doughnut shop establishment. A lot of places were good tasting growing up, but seemed to lose quality once you got older. this place has had some flavor changes, in the ice cream and sandwiches. but these doughnuts are still the business. Make sure you share your childhood favorite places with your little people, so they can keep the tradition going.

Normal prices. Large selection of stuff. drive up window for people on the go. limited parking area. not good for large cars. place to sit and eat but its usually taken by the locals that are there every day in the morning. usually people grab their donuts or coffee or ice cream and go. its large selection of misc foods and normal to sometimes competitive prices on certain things (ice cream) make it a spot most locals and nearby businesses go to in the morning for their coffee/​donuts fix. open early too!
